What a crazy flight demonstration... it's not everyday you get to see some of these maneuvers, let alone being executed at such low altitudes... unbelievable!
Jurgis Kairys (born May 6, 1952, in Krasnoyarsk) is a Lithuanian aerobatic pilot and aeronautical engineer. He has won many awards for his flying and has invented several maneuvers, including the "Kairys Wheel." He helped develop the Sukhoi Su-26, 29, and 31 aerobatic aircraft, and also has manufactured his own aerobatic aircraft, called the "Juka".
The style of acrobatics we see today was developed over twenty years ago by Lithuanians Stepas Artiškevičius and Kairys competing with each other while on the Soviet team, and coaching each other. Today every unlimited pilot flies in the style promoted by the soviet aerobatics society in the 70s.
His engineering and piloting skills were recognized when he was asked to work with the Sukhoi Design Bureau to develop the Sukhoi 26, 29 and 31 series of completely new aerobatics aircraft using new ideas future to dominate the Unlimited World Aerobatic Championships. This was achieved with the aircraft winning many championships from the European Championships to the World Grand Prix of Aerobatics piloted by Kairys and the Russian team members. This legacy continues to this date.
Jurgis' forte has always been Unlimited Freestyle aerobatics which has allowed him to develop his quest for new flight possibilities from himself and his aircraft.
He has invented several aerobatics maneuvers including the Kairys Wheel, Small Loop and was the first to successfully perform the Pugachev's Cobra maneuver in a propeller-driven aircraft.
As for the Sukhoi Su-31, it is a Russian single-engined aerobatic aircraft designed by Sukhoi as a lighter and more powerful version of the Sukhoi Su-29.

Flygfesten is one of the biggest airshows in Europe. It attracts around 50.000 attendees. Flygfesten is an eventful weekend with world class pilots and airplanes. Flygfesten has been organized every three to four years since the re-launch in 1986. It is held in Sweden by Västerdalarnas Aero club, an aeroclub located in Dala-Järna in Vansbro municipality, with about 7000 inhabitants.
Although the air show is the major focal area, Flygfesten aims to make the show more than just a regular flight display but a festival, where Saturday’s and Sunday’s air show are complemented with evening entertainment during Friday and Saturday night in the form of dance, rock, disco and fun fair.
Flygfesten is a non-profit arrangement and is held to promote the activity of the club in particular and to aviation in general. It offers a good forum for aviation enthusiasts to meet other likeminded, while it is a fine opportunity for the Club to recruit new members.

    WAS THAT A COBRA

Kinda! Technically, in a proper cobra, the plane barely gains altitude, but it was pretty close to being called a cobra (the speakers definitely called it a cobra). But the fact he pulled it in the midst of a landing approach combined with a sideslip approach is just mindblowing. And that's not the only thing to make my head go b00m in this display!

What an amazing flying display and brilliant flying skills 😊 We should invite this pilot to UK airshows. Also I like how you did film it.

Fantastic performance. I would not have expected to see an airplane gain altitude while hauled back into a complete stall. 2:26

I hope you do realise that neither India nor russian federation have anything to do with what's in this video... Kairys was born in a family of ordinary Lithuanians deported to Siberia during Stalin's repressions, and the flag of fascist russia next to his name is a huge insult.

@@k.squared Kairys grew up and learned to fly in the USSR. Passed the Soviet flight school. In the video he is flying on a Russian Su-31 plane. Are you, by any chance, a fascist yourself? You also don’t know history, apparently.

Form follows function with these. Wheel pants would help look less "spindly" but adds weight.
