@@farfetched9296 it gets worse, and always starts slow. it never gets better. at the end of the 3 and half year abusive relationship, we slept in the same house, same bed, but like two diff people. He would get brutal as hell, and once i nearly had a tv dropped on my head when i was on the floor and he was standing over me. Anyway, he used to drink way too much, almost every day, i was no longer surprised if he showed up at dawn. the worst was when he hit me on the head with a bottle which shattered and i needed to get staples for my eyebrow (its healed now, barely visible) the last straw when he came back one night and woke me up cause he was hungry he wanted me to cook something for him. I had some juice on the table in a glass- when irefused he smashed it on the floor, slapped me and told me to clean it up and get him food. i played it cool, told him to relax and let me go get something from the kitchen(i locked myself in the bathroom for a good hour) by the time i came out he was passed out- i packed my stuff, hailed a cab and went to my mothers( i never got on with my mother, its a toxic relationship but it was better i endured her than him which is saying how bad he actually was). its been a couple of years, and im still....affected. i have a wonderful boyfriend though we have been together for about 4 years now so that is a win! stay strong ladies. i may have some issues still, but dont go down without a fight. Leaving is harder than everyone thinks too. it took me 4 months to mentally prepare myself to leave and it took that slap to actually leave.

I deal with cases like these on a daily basis, cops are useless, perpetrators usually bribe police officers to turn a blind eye when matters regarding gender based violence are reported. In other cases NGOs try to help so that matters are handled correctly but victims withdraw cases which is always frustrating.

Kenya PLEASE! Doing right by this young woman is not rocket science... it's just called justice under the existing Kenyan laws! And the "police" should be held accountable for not doing their job. A THUG has been set free to look for another victim. Women BEWARE!

I cried throughout the interview.... So sad. I wish she can get justice she deserves.
