Denise is accurate. This is an important distinction. Hank Sr. was one of country’s legendary artists.Died too soon. Hank Jr fell down the side of a mountain, was nearly killed, and came back to be a country star in his own right, giving us songs like this one.

This is one song that most every culture can relate to. Country Boy does not refer to a person's race. It refers to a way of life. There are country folk in every state. My grandpa taught me a lot growing up, most everything in this song was how he grew up and tried to bestow in his family. I grew up close to the city, but my heart lies in the country. A shotgun, a rifle and 4 wheel drive was a necessity for life and remains true today.

Hank, Sr. was a legend. When he died, the country music industry tried to turn Hank, Jr. into him. When Jr. rebelled the industry turned their backs on him. He created his own sound and the rest is history. He often pokes them in the eye, especially in Family Tradition. You should listen to I'll Never Get Out of this World Alive from the album Three Hanks. It is Junior with his son Hank the third, and Hank Sr.'s music filtered in. Awesome (and I don't use that word frivolously). Although Hank the third sounds so much like Sr., he went his own way with music, too.

Grew up in the country then moved to the city for a job. Super loved it at first...just how convenient everything was. After about five years, I was over it and couldn't wait to get out. Bought an acre of land in a rural area. Have chickens, rabbits and a garden and I can see the stars again. I don't think I could ever go back to city living. Country guy, here...my first time firing a gun was when I was 9. My parents had a pistol for protection (my dad was an over-the-road trucker and was away from home a lot), and they would take me with them whenever they would go for target practice. I got my own first gun for Christmas when I was 12, a Marlin bolt action .22 rifle, and was allowed to take it out into the woods by myself. My folks were confident that I had heeded their warnings and teachings; I knew a gun isn't a toy but a tool. Never really one for hunting unless absolutely necessary (no hate for hunters, though, of course), I focused more on the precision aspect of shooting. At my high school, there were guns displayed in just about every other vehicle (lots of my classmates headed straight from school to the woods during hunting season)...and no one ever thought about using one because of a problem with someone, not even after getting their ass kicked in a fight. It simply wasn't even a consideration. We do, however, make our own whiskey and our own smoke, too...sipped on some mighty fine 'shine and puffed a few tasty pipes whilst camping with friends over the 4th of July weekend. I moved to the city when I was 30, but it didn't take long for the woods to call me back home. Yeah...it's a 120-ish mile round trip to the nearest mall, but the peace and relaxation more than make up for such inconveniences. I don't even have to lock my doors at night or when I'm not home 🤘

You're listening to Hank Williams JUNIOR...his father (Hank Williams) was a legend as well. The Hank's dont play...they tell you you like it is. Country folk DO stay ready for anything. They dont WANT or NEED anything from this government and they stay ready to fight it or fight for their own when things crash. We believe our Constitution gives us the right to keep and bare arms and so we wont be caught in a situation where we cant defend ourselves or the ones we love...or even other people. I've lived in both...born and raised in Chicago or suburbs...spent most of my life after that in the country. Id rather be SAFE, in TEXAS, where I can carry a gun on my waist if I want to ( I dont, but I COULD). I trade convenience for safety and good neighbors any day. Love you guys!!!!!

Hank released this song, wait for it, in January of 1982. It has been a country boy/southern anthem since then. Instantly!! He made this video in 2007 to commemorate its 25th anniversary of the song. It’s still as popular and true to this day. More Hank Jr. please. You won’t be disappointed. You should remember that voice from Monday Night Football. “Are you ready for some football?”

Hanks father is such an original. A dirt road poet whosesongs will live on and on and on. Hank junior here is very different. Honestly not really my favorite, but nonetheless really good, and he's earned his place in the history of country music. Hank the third is punk country, and while I find some of his music not to my tastes, he's quite good. And now there's Hank the forth, but I haven't listened to him yet. Music runs deep in this family bloodline

I have a plate-full of catfish settling on my stomach as I write this. Speaking of slow pace of country life, I remember getting into staring contests with a mule. It was just a dumb animal. Of course my will would be greater than his. Nope. And the lady is correct. Locking doors is a foreign idea. I'll often leave the back door open in the summer with a screen that the dogs can travel through. Was a great idea until one dog decided to bring a possum into the house. Turns out it wasn't as dead as she (or I) thought it was.

Hank Williams Jr., had a near-fatal accident in 1975 that changed the entire course of his life and career. The country icon went climbing on Ajax Peak in Beaverhead County, Mont., on Aug. 8, 1975. The snow beneath him collapsed, and Williams fell 440 feet, fracturing his skull in multiple places. Williams was not expected to live, and his recovery took multiple surgeries over two years
