excellent review - question if I load the HD Homerun app from Amazon fire TV box, will the Amazon Remote work in the HD Homerun app for the guide etc. ?

I got the impression from your comment near the end of your video that the DVR function does not work unless you are a subscriber to their extended guide feature. Is this true? We have an older unit connected to a Mac Mini and use Eyetv software, but might change to Silicon Dust software if it can help overcome some of the issues we are having with the Eyetv software.

Can you connect Setup box to it? My set-top box has a RF output, can i use that to access my setup box locally on my network?

Can I set up this HD home run with my smartphone and do these have any paid services do we have to pay for anything after we get this box

Does it work with ehternet to USB-C or Micro USB adpater for use on Android devices ?

I can understand your video. Can I use the older version HD Homerun Prime with a cable slot and just update to current firmware it's new in the box?

Yes

I have had the Quatro Hdhomerun for at least a year, the box works great the software not so much anymore 😩 it did work GREAT at first but after a few updates it's real buggy, locks up, very slow, not many 3rd party apps but a few, "Live Channels" is a good one but not available for all Android boxes.

I've been running my HDHomeRun around 2 years now, and I have not seen any performance change. But I have not done any firmware updates in a while, and I do see I have one from June available. Maybe a update caused the performance issue?

Yes that is correct, unless you add it into Plex. If your looking for something that can also be accessed natively outside your network, you may want to checkout VBOX

You need to get a over the air antenna, depending on your location you should be able to get all the major networks like, NBC,CBS,ABC,FOX,PBS etc.. and if your in Canada CBC,CITY,Global,CTV etc.. You can use tvfool (google it) to see what you can get in your area.

Do you need a splitter to connect main aerial and the coaxial cable together in order to tune in HD channels?

My antenna is installed on the outside of my house. I use a digiwave outdoor antenna.

I live in a condo with bad reception so I need to ungrade my antenna. Once I connect HDHOMERUN box do i need to put my tv source into the tv mode to watch the local channels or leave it at USB?

Will a digital cable system that doesn't use a cable box work with the hdhomerun? Clear QAM i think it is called type of digital cable tunner

If you've confirmed that the antenna can get channels (hook directly to a TV) I would exchange it.

Can it be any ethernet cable? I was going to use a longer one and I want to be able to record AEW on TNT with it

Hdhomerun uses FTA signals, pretty sure TNT is not available. Usually it's channels like ABC, CBS, NBS, FOX, PBS etc.

Is there something for iptv home run I dont have cable from coax it's all done by eaithernet iptv stb

so if we cancel our cable where are we suppose to get this router you have there

Well you need to get a OTA antenna, then you plug the HD homerun into your current router

thats what i figured , so when ever i cancel my cable they want their router and box so even thou we really paid for that already what are people doing just telling them they cant hav their router back,l.o.l

Can the hdhomerun be plugged directly into my Nvidia Shield without being plugged into my router? My coax cable and my router are in two totally different areas of the home. Thank you in advance

Hip-IO extremely helpful thank you very much Tablo was actually my other thought. They make a straight USB TV tuner. That option I know does work with the Nvidia Shield and should do the trick. Thank you again

If the model you have has wifi, I would try turning on the hotspot on the shield and connecting the hdhomerun to is and see if it works that way. If not, you'll need to get a wifi router to get them to communicate. You don't necessarily need internet but so far, there isn't any manual way to assign an IP address to the device. The IP address needs to be assigned by a router (or hotspot, which pretty much does the same thing). You could use a router with no internet, and it will work just fine. You could even get away with a old cheap router, if they are close enough to each other and you could connect them via Ethernet since even a cheap router that's only capable of 100 Mbps ethernet should be able to handle it. You could get one for like $20 or so.

just watching the demo made me thank god i do not watch regular tv anymore :-)) thank god for plex, hulu and netflix haha

plex is slow at loading correct thumbnails, and netflix has hardly any content, and hulu I havn't used before. somethings are only available on TV

Lol, just noticed the hotdog on the plate.. Good eye... If you have a good wifi connection you'll be fine. Thats dependant on your access point.

It needs to be hardwired. For a wifi I believe TabloTV has that option.

you need a TBS6904 DVB-S2 Quad Tuner PCIe Card - TBS Technologies. TBS makes millions of dollars a year selling to people who take sat feeds into a computer network system

Does this device NOT work over wifi? It has to be direct connected to the router?

Just a paper clip, tv location matters as well and the distance you are from the repeaters.
