@@cmc6112 …two’s company, three’s a crowd ; however despite his arrogance, I doubt they would have had the same success without a singer with such a distinctive voice, song writing ability and the shear drive to succeed. He was talismanic. And he played the bass quite well.

Same. I had to take a trap break to get my live, stings fix. It’s amazing! I could sample about 50 tracks from this for the bros.. 👍🏿… but I won’t touch it! This is too pristine!!

I worked with The Police twice in 1979. They were largely unknown, having a single song on the radio, of course this one. Note the recording engineer hasn’t a clue Andy is singing an essential harmony. By 1980, they were a global phenomenon. It was a dizzying pace.
