Saw Sting on the 15th in Houston. Still brings it 100% Great singer and song writer!

Most amazing version of this song.. love the extended portion

I was here in this tiny place and worked, helped catering to the bands. 17 years old....I have many stories good times.

@@cmc6112 …two’s company, three’s a crowd ; however despite his arrogance, I doubt they would have had the same success without a singer with such a distinctive voice, song writing ability and the shear drive to succeed. He was talismanic. And he played the bass quite well.

Copeland is the reason I bought a Tama Imperialstar as my first proper kit back in the early 80s at 13 years old from my first job washing dishes in a restaurant.

socca blau He is technically right. Pop music used to mean whatever was popular at the time, so anything from Bob Dylan to Metallica have been pop music. It wasn't until the early to mid 90s that the term pop music was actually used as a name for a genre.

I worked with The Police twice in 1979. They were largely unknown, having a single song on the radio, of course this one. Note the recording engineer hasn’t a clue Andy is singing an essential harmony. By 1980, they were a global phenomenon. It was a dizzying pace.

Good recovery Mr Summers...after that seventh chord at 0.55 instead of the minor chord it should have been - totally forgiven, what a fantastic performance!

Flew across the country in 2007 to watch a reunion tour show and they didn't play Roxanne. Awesome show, a chilling "Wrapped Around Your Finger," but not Roxanne!

It was Andy's suggestion that the band be a trio. One great decision.

Yep a fretless p bass. Sting played mostly fretless basses on early Police songs. He played upright bass in jazz bands before the Police.
