He raised this song to a whole different level with this performance. He has expanded his technique and his voice range sounds spectacular. He blew out the typical set rhythm of the standard arrangement and went for emotion and it so totally works.

Terence trent d'arby was one of the most underrated artists of the 80's. He was so unique, and had a presence aswell as sheer talent. He deserved much more recognition than he gained, and definitely should of gone alot further. Total respect. ✊🙏

i know what u mean jamie, (thats my name too), i was like ten when this song was in the UK charts and i knew he was a mad singer back then coz i liked him and i sang in a church choir, but last week this song came into my head so i thought id youtube it so see live versions,,, i wasnt prepared for this. i read about him on wikipedia and his mum was a gospel singer and that really shows in this performance
