Yard long beans are one of my all time favorites, but just because they CAN grow quite long, doesn't mean they should. They're so much better when harvested quite young... about the thickness of a pencil is all you want for the best texture and flavor. The ones harvested in this video would be best used as seed for next season's crop, since the texture (and flavor) would more likely resemble that of STRAW. 😂

Great looking celery! I'm growing some too. I have mine growing all over the garden, basically anywhere where I had space to squeeze a few in, but one of my celery patches is growing WAY better than all the others. After I saw your (somewhat controversial) video about forest compost, I thought I'd try it in one of my raised beds. I added the forest compost last fall, and that's the bed where the celery is thriving. The difference in those plants and the other ones in the garden is incredible!

That sunflower head was perfect! What variety did you grow? We grew some close to the house this year, and that seemed to keep the birds at bay. We'll probably grow some in the garden next year. Thanks for sharing!

The bees are all around me to when in the garden. I keep towl with me to swing at them. I was stung 3 times. A week ago Thursday my arm and body swelled up and turned red and itched, lasted about 5 days.

the bee's are always aggressive when it starts getting cooler, they are on survival mode, gotta get that pollen, cold winter is coming! I have wild bee's in my backyard, and they are not nice right now, also. How do you keep your celery throughout the winter? Do you freeze it? Blanch and Freeze? Dehydrate? Enjoy spending the morning with you! Now I have to get out to my garden and pull down all the corn stalks and burn tomato plants.

My celery turned brown and mushy on the inside at lower plant to root level. It came on within 3 days. They had full sun and got watered once a day for two minutes at a time. There were some worms present but I think they may have moved in because of the rot. Ideas?

Luke, have you ever tied up the celery heads so that the "hearts" are protected and stay mostly lighter colored (and LOTS more flavorful, it seems.) BTW, swatting at the bees only makes them more aggressive.

Don't wear black or dark clothing when in your garden. They see dark colors as a predator... they will buzz you then bump you as a warning but if you don't back away you will be stung.💜👏🏽🙌🏽 thanks for the video and just so you know they go for the eyes👍🏼

Its weird to me knowing americans cook celery. In the UK its just a salad veg that you eat raw. I can't think of a single time i've ever heard of celery being eaten cooked in this country. Its a shame because it has good flavour, but you can only buy salad celery here anyway.

Bees do not like the colors Red and Black in combination, from my experience. I noticed your wearing a red/black shirt in the video that may be why your being warned off by the bees.
