As the DVD company Pentrex showed us, Southern California truly is one of the best places in America for railfanning. With the Cajon, Yuma and Mojave subdivisions, landmarks such as Cajon Pass, Beaumont Hill and Tehachapi Loop, other lines such as the Surfline and Fillmore and Western, as well as steam excursions by Santa Fe 3751, it’s impossible to get bored in this region.

I know that this was almost 3 years ago, but it's new to me. Great video! But, I particularly loved the 3 way race with Amtrak...

Great shots, numerous trains! I lived close to the Cajon Pass growing up! One of my highlights was watching the trains every weekend we traveled to see family!

Video after video, you show just how good your work is in both capturing the trains and the gorgeous settings that these are shot in. You leave no doubt that you're one of the elite videographers on YT who covers this fascinating industry that we all love to watch and learn about. Thank you!

Awesome stuff as always! I've had this video in a playlist for months, but I just realized thanks to your great audio quality, you can actually hear that Tier 4 C45AH really chug at about 1:11:40. They're probably in N5 or N6 there. In run 8 at 48:00, you can hear how loud their turbos are too. Love it. Thanks for posting. -Cam

Great one Video, with fantastic Landscape !

This is some unbelievable video work here ! I'm an audio freak and i can tell you hearing those engines puttin out that horsepower ! down to the gearing ! just does something to my mental responses ! ;) and the distant horns??? just does something to me ! like?........hearing it coming through a time portal or somethng to remind me of a time long gone but still ever so present in our developing mechanized, automated, computerized world.....it looks like to me HUNT just might as well own their own rail lines ! LOL and the video work here presents some of the most incredible landscape positioning, high resolution planning I've EVER seen on youtube ! the long range shots reminds me of model railroading ! .......................the wind is okay, however if there is a way to cut it down it would have been nice !.................BUT ITS OKAY STILL !.....TRULY PURCHASE QUALITY ! TY PHX ! this is truly where my heart is !

a "deadcat" microphone cover will make the world of difference to these videos. The visuals are good and the sound good, but that wind noise is a major issue

I would like to have a shortwave radio like drake kenwood panasonic or sony than a washing machine anytime. You cannot hear 50 states on the am band during the spin cycle.
