(HD) “Can he do it? Class 66 labours with heavy stone train”- sheer power! UK Trains (HD) UK Rails

Ойын-сауық

Concluding part of the action from 6 Feb. Some patience is required initially as the immense power of the 66 is harnessed carefully to gain initial momentum of this colossal load of Buxton stone! I did consider cutting part of it but enjoyed watching the incredible power of these incredible machines so much I thought better and left it in. Hope you enjoy as I did the filming!

Hi Howard, thanks for watching and commenting mate. Was playing around a bit with this one recently but didn’t think I saved any of the changes in the end but may be wrong. Are you referring to the point where it pans over to the stream by any chance? The trains usually stop there where the driver gets out and goes into the old station building and not sure if it was a case of leaving to film something else passing or whether I’ve inadvertently cut something out! Thanks for the feedback sir, all the best, Paul

@@HSTHoward thanks Howard, will have another look at it. If I have done was meant to get rid of some of the footage of the stream and other non action shots so may have inadvertently made a school boy error but didn’t think I’d saved any changes in the end. Could be a timing issue! Thanks again mate, Paul

Ha ha, thanks Steve think I know where you are coming from there mate! Must confess though on this one I did experiment with the title somewhat and inadvertently upset a few 66 fans including a few drivers who I have the greatest respect for for the hurdles and competition they encounter! That said the title was a bit tongue and cheek but know what you mean! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment, all being well will get back there soon to capture some updated footage. All the best, Paul 👍

Many thanks for the information and taking the time to comment. Yes it’s really impressive especially seeing them start off with a full train with the power required to gain initial inertia from standing. And the weight of the loco too to maintain traction on metal to metal with possibly a bit of sand is incredible. Not sure on the exact weight but sounds about right and you are pretty bang on with the lengths I’d say the ones I’ve seen are usually around 22-24. Thanks again and all the best, Paul

@@UKRailsandMore Thank you so much Paul for getting back to me on this one.. the 59s are even more incredible I'd say! I think I've seen one pulling around the 5000 ton mark, that's a helluva lot of weight for one locomotive! Regards

Many thanks Stuart and you are most welcome. Hard to believe that Stuart thought you may have been pulling my leg for a minute there but certainly impressive if correct sir. What was it pulling gold bullion? Only jesting that’s fantastic power and it’s hard to get your head around what these marvellous machines can do. Thanks again Stuart for your valuable contribution and all the best mate, Paul
