Love the song, but it kinda annoys me that she's smiling the whole time. The song is sung when Ariel is feeling the longing of being on land, and she doesn't portray that longing unfortunately. She's very talented though.

I think she's smiling because in the parks they usually have to smile like 24/7 xD so it's probably the same for singing regardless of the actual emotion of the song maybe? It is a bit annoying but the princesses have to be perfect and kind all the time so having one sad in front of an audience is probably a big no no xD

She doesn't smile the ENTIRE song. If anything she's portraying a more optimistic Ariel.

Also, she's a stage performer, not a cartoon character, telling a story.
