This is one of my favorite songs. I think there’s a grain of truth to what Alastor says about feeling like there’s a bond. With the arrival of Mimzy we now know that Alastor is capable of establishing connections with people that aren’t purely transactional. Although it’s clear he has ulterior motives I feel like with Lucifer coming around he realizes that he does in fact feel a connection to Charlie and doesn’t want Lucifer to ruin it.

I do believe that Alistair does care for Charlie in a sense. By the end of the show, he does call the hotel residence, including Charlie his friends. Alastair however, wouldn’t let anybody get to him if anyone gets on his bad side, he does turn into a different person. Most likely, it’s his true self hiding under his smile. I would say, though that not everybody gets his dark side once they mess with him Lucifer just got a scratch. Husk another character. Meanwhile, literally got chains , And was even threatened by Alistair that he would tear his soul apart literally.
