My Hayward Propane fired pool heater worked when I tested it for the season. We used to put the heater into bypass mode because there was an electrical issue and the heater started "by itself" and used $1k of propane. I since fixed that problem, but out of habit turn off the propane and put the heater into bypass mode when its not being used. I went to heat the water this morning and I could not take the heater out of bypass mode, so I figured it was either the buttons on the bezel, or the display board. Luckily I had an extra of both- decided that since the replacement test board worked perfectly that I would leave it in the heater, This is more of a troubleshooting video than anything else, since the board and bezel is basically 4 screws and a plug. in connector. Not rocket sceince. But dont be afraid- its your heater, so why spend $400 on a service call if you don't need to!
