Hays Creek Falls Scouting Report

Tributary of the crystal river. One of the most perfect sets of pothole waterfalls you'll ever see, except the last one immediately goes off a 40ft drop that lands on rocks.
Perhaps some of the other creeks in this area that share the same geology such as big kline creek, hawk creek, east creek or thompson creek have runnable drops, but somebody would need to do a serious scouting mission.

We got the possible first descent with a foam boat, got stuck in that lower pothole at 0:17 on the left side for over an hour, possible the first throw bag used to get a foamie?? Just some lore for ya,

None of those creeks go for kayaking. Hawk maaay be possible for novelty value but it has no access. Thompson falls too consistently and never gorges up well and has lots of brush hazards. Coal Creek might be an exciting flume of class V water with enough flow but nothing else really possible in those sediment layers 😞
