​@@Leo-nc3yxCrazy thing is Haymitch didn't really disobey the Capital. He just gamed the parameters of his Hunger Games to win. (Used the forcefield to kill his final opponent which Snow didn't like and marked as a sign of "rebellion.") Can interpret it as he didn't like Haymitch not getting his own hands "dirty." It's very fucked.

And he was in the 50/2nd quarter quell. And is still the only victor for dist 12 until these 2. That means 48 people he tried to mentor, 48 people he tried to get sponsors for, 48 people he was passionate about, that also died. So not just friends and family but every tribute after that for years. 😢

The books explain so much. Victors basically become pawns to the capitol. And if they don’t do as they’re told, they’re punished severly. Your life as a victor becomes the capitols. Winning the Hunger Games is an illusion of freedom, so if you’re reeped it would be better to die in the games.

They replicated this scene in the movie so we’ll, it really makes you think and has you paying attention. You can really start to understand the characters sorrow.

The Ballad really shed some light on many things! From the school assignment, Snow implementated the mentorship of selected hunger game candidates.

Nobody is talking about how the video says “they are both unsure about the reason for their presence” like, no. They know exactly why they’re in district 11

People love this movie, but keep voting for the people who treat us like citizens of Panem.

They know exactly why they’re there. And the unrest wasn’t new. Katniss was already a symbol, and President Snow told her as much. Peeta’s slightly more in the dark on some of those details, but the Victory Tour is well known to them.

Such a great video! Shows how powerful this series and these characters were. Deeper than we all realized!

We have had that always. It is called "The News". Some group of people somewhere on this planet have had a catastrophe occur: flood, tornado, hurricane, war a major fire. We judge ourselves and our situation by the fates of other people!

The American government:

After the first book I was excited to see Katniss/Peeta as mentors and foment a rebellion of their own. Still kinda wish the story had gone that direction.

Who watches their skin tone except some crazy racist. That district just lost a lovely girl that was way too young to play anyway. I think that's way they started rioting.

Im not sure if there’s the intention that links to real life, but district 12 and 11 are the poorest and Katniss, from the start, was the only one who could be associated with humanity and hopes (because of her being volunteered instead of her sister). Then she got close with Rue (which was from district 11, and got brutally killed) and then people saw how Katniss stayed with her till her death and after, and probably they see her crying for Rue too! This is how humanize a death of someone, you feel connected with them, so I feel it’s obvious that after all of this the two poorest districts are the one rioting firsts. It’s really interesting tho, if there’s some intention to linked this to the black life matter in real life for example.

@FabulousSquidward Yeah weird I know but I think it's probably due to the many decades or even centuries of being just in 1 district so possibly a gene or trait becomes more dominant or common. If you do rewatch the first movie, there are people who are white.

I cried when Rue died but cried more when Clove died. She was screaming for Cato who she truly loved and its just heartbreaking.

I think the point of movie is everyone was a victim in the arena. So it’s ok to feel sorry for those who died, no matter how they could seem brutal or bad in the arena

Sadly no. With the districts rebelling they have to make sure that their story HAS to stick. Its HOW the Capitol sees that they only did their acts to kill themselves to gether as something as shoddy as romance AND NOT a rebellion. f they don't, the masses of people who knows the whole point of the games, which is torture, will be slaughtered and starved

The love story was made to protect both Peeta and Katniss from getting killed. Imagine if they said that, that would mean they could now kill each other easily in the arena.
