Yeah they really did them dirty Ngl tho Elijah was my favorite character from the start his and Hayley’s first scene was the reason I started watching the show I never watched the vampire diaries but I did enjoy the originals and man as sad as it is my favorite scene in the whole series is when Elijah gets his memories back and realizes Hayley’s dead that scream told us how much he was in pain and it was a powerful scene imo

I’m pretty sure that Elijah and Hayley found peace and are together in afterlife, I would just really love if they would mention that they found peace in legacies, I think it would be a good way to fix a little bit of the horrible ending they gave us in the originals.

Hayley was the only outsider who always faught for the Mikaelson family. She truly was one of best characters in the entire universe, so brave and loyal.

To be honest, I watch the vampire diaries and I loved delena soo much but looking at Hayley and Elijah, they have 10 times more chemistry with every look and touch you can see it. Looking back now, I’d definitely sacrifice delenas happy ending to get one for haylijah as they were more deserving of a happy ending than any other ship in the tvd verse. It’s soo heartbreaking but then again I think the sad and tragic ones are the best ones to watch because the audience are pulled in more than a simple love you know are gonna end up together like delena. I’m crying now !

Elijah was the best character in entire series beside Klaus until season 5 in my opinion!I really wanted to slap him a thousands of times after he caused Hayley's death and breaking Klaus's heart before that!I love him still and know Klaus and Hope forgiven him but I'm still a little pissed!

I just finished watching the last episode for the first time and this is what I was hoping the ending would have been! After they both died, I wanted so badly for them to show Elijah and Hayley dancing together, but they didn’t 😭

Im literally two years late but i feel like Hayley knew she was going to die from the start, she was warned by celeste but still she chose to love him and it breaks my heart they didnt get a happy ending

They deserved so much better!!! Everyone kind of had their happy ending. From the get go, they gave us so few moments of them for just letting them die in the end, in the worst way possible. They didn’t at least give us a scene from the afterlife-that dance that Hayley was waiting. It’s so terrible that they destroyed everything they’ve been building through five seasons. Hayley and Elijah were the best couple of the entire show undeniably and they had so much potential. I HATED the way Hayley died. It was the worst thing ever. It made no sense. Elijah was rooting always to protect her and he ended up letting her die, while not being able to recognize her. Also he started to get so much hate in and out of the show that he didn’t deserve. All of you don’t get that he wanted to protect the people he thought, at the time, were his family, like he always did. He stayed true to himself. He didn’t betray his real family nor the love of his life. HE DIDNT HAVE HIS MEMORIES. When he got them back, he broke upon repair and he ended up blaming himself AGAIN for something he couldn’t have known. All this was so disrespectful to both the characters and the audience. Every time these two were trying to be happy, something was there to destroy those moments. They didn’t get to live together at least for sometime. They tried giving them something in the first episodes of season four but then they destroyed that as well. The fifth season for them was by far the worst and I’m not comforted that Elijah died and went to find Hayley in peace. I wanted to see that and ideally I wouldn’t have killed them in the first place. I would have given them some sort of a chance, a future, a life together because they were the best couple and they had such a true love between them. I mean they gave Cole and Davina the best ending and forgot completely about these two. Such a robbery in my humble opinion. And I know that most fans believe exactly what I do. It’s been 3 years and I’m still beyond mad and devastated. That’s how much I loved them❤️ Ps: And for all of you saying that he saw her in France and they were friends and he should have saved her...A) He saw here probably one or two times B)Who would YOU save? A person you have seen two times or a person that you believed that was your family? You have to try and understand his perspective and not judge so harshly Ps2: I am aware that they don’t exist in real life but I tend to bond with the characters, as many ppl. Also these things(not the vamps and the witches ofc) can happen in real life as well, in an other way. Many of the things and the situations we see in shows or movies reflect real stuff and real emotions. From where do you think they get inspiration?

Yes you are very true, the way they summed up everything was really bad and the ending shouldn't have gone that way. All the way the series started with the family and their vow doesn't go up to the end. I wished to see that when things were gonna be okay, especially the way Elijah visioned. But what the hell did they just do in the last season. Elijah's character was so noble, so humble, but in the end they ruined the very personality and so horribly to his memories and Hayley's death. It really tore the heart apart. And for Klaus, the change they shown should have gone to be seen a happy ending.
