Prequels sucked!!!! Sucked a$$ 100 percent. Terrible acting tip to bottom but I will admit Hayden got better as the movies went on, from stink acting to much improved in revenge of the sith

I just don’t get why they didn’t give him an actual breathing tube. It’s not like he wasn’t already all hooked up into shit in there anyway.

Didn't know they had him just holding his breath in there. Two and a half minutes, not too shabby.

The only good thing about this show was that Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor was in it and the rest speaks for itself

Hayden Christensen is the best actor ever. He made an amazing Anakin, and he doesn’t deserve any criticism.

I hate Disney Star Wars but man, im so glad they kept Hayden as Vader. He got way too much shit for the prequels. He did a great job with the lines he was handed, but the lines were shit and he got blamed for it. His performance was as good as it possibly could be and I love him. Same with the guy who played Little Anakin. That poor kid got trashed for no good reason.

My guess would be that they didnt want all the bubbles that comes from exhaling to show. There is scuba gear that takes care of the air you exhale but the only ones I have seen are very big so you couldn't hide the the mouth piece in Vaders mask.

@@DHealey There were two tubes. They could have one going in while the other went out. Such a system actually exists. SEALs and other SF type units use them as they recycle the air, to keep bubbles from forming from an exhale. Here, all they would have needed to do was have one way valves for each tube.

Hayden is the only true Anakin and Darth Vader, he did an awesome job. The final fight was really one of the best scenes in the star wars universe

It´s very achieveable. There is a simple technique you can try at home for fun. You lay down flat or sit, relax and then you start breathing in for 5 seconds and exhale for twice as long. You do this fo a couple of minutes every day and then after you try to hold your breath. You will get better every day and up to 3 minutes is very achieveable for the regular non smoking fit individual. The body uses up more oxygen if you move or swim, but sitting still it´s possible.

It's not really. I used to do that in the pool when I was about 18 in college. I remember testing myself in about 4th or 5th grade to see how long I could do it. If you just get in some good deep breaths, inhale all the way, completely relax and understand you're alright and maybe release a little bit of what is held in very slowly to relax your lungs it's not so bad. Assuming your lungs are healthy and you get a normal amount of oxygen through your body otherwise it shouldn't be that bad. It can take a little practice, but not so bad.

This is pretty cool. Doing things "old school" and having as much practical effect as possible. And with Haden doing actual breath holds, instead of just having a ring of water to make it look like he was actually in it. Both are legitimate ways of doing this and the latter is a pretty goof SFX trick. But going the route they did made it that much cooler. The fact that they got him to do the scene when ANYONE could have, given that we don't see his face clearly, is a nice touch and pretty respectful. Even though the original Vader was played by 3 different people. I wish I had a ton of money so I could make a fan film, even if it was only in the low 6 figures. If you want to see what can be done with minimal budget and have a very good cross-over short film ... check out "Batman: Dead End". It was done for $30k in 2003, approx $53k today.

And the reason they did not just him a working breathing mask is?

Great science fiction and fantasy writing existed before Star Wars and much of it served to be a huge influence for Lucas especially Frank Herbert’s Dune, Tolkien and H.G Wells to name but a few. Not trying to diminish his work in anyway what Lucas did with Star Wars was absolutely incredible but if you really delve into the history of science fiction there are many incredible writers who conceived of amazing stories and worlds with nothing but their own imagination. Heck even JK Rowling deserves a lot of credit for creating the world of Harry Potter, I don’t think people realise just how hard it is for somebody to create these unique worlds and actually a meaningful story that works within the rules of that world.

@@artofsam Keep in mind Lucas' most immediate influence were the Flash Gordon serials, and he wanted to make a modern adaptation of it, but couldn't get the rights. So he wrote his own space opera fantasy and well, you know the rest.

@@jsizemo For sure and you can see that's where he definitely got the fantasy aspect from (saving the princess from an evil empire etc) Star Wars at its core is basically Flash Gordon meets Seven Samurai with much of its worlds deriving from Herberts Dune and Edgar Rice Burroughs "Of Mars" novels (John Carter). Also the success of Star Wars is at least 50% John Williams and the editor if it were not for them I really believe there could have been a universe where Star Wars was not the hit it became because it didn't have those monumental ingredients.

We still didn't get to see that much of it in the theatrical cut

Actually if you really want to get technical Star Wars Theory was the first to have Darth Vader in his Bacta tank in live action the way it was presented to us in Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Even at that depth, he's too deep for that. The diapraghm can't compete with the water pressure, so he wouldn't be able to fully exhale. He'd basically be huffing his own exhale in and out of the pipe, never actually getting fresh air. That would require something like a SCUBA system which pressurizes the air and forces it into your lungs, and then your exhale just goes out into the water as bubbles. Which would ruin the shot.

@@thribs No. After Windu died he says "What have I done", which means he fully realizes that he did a terrible mistake. And at this point he still could've been redeemed. But Palpatine seizes the opportunity and uses his confusion and his fear of losing Padme to actually turn him to the dark side by ordering him to kill younglings. That's when the transformation takes place. Anakin walked in the Jedi Temple, but Vader walked out.

i have no idea, there were still bubbles in there. i agree it makes no sense. or maybe they didnt want to spend more time on editing to remove potential bubles... this entire show sounds bs to be honest, they added hayden just for fanservice and nothing more. Obiwan should have never met darth vader between episode 3 and 4.

This series deserves more than it got. Those so called critics don't know shit. Just look at Bullet Train, that's a 10/10 in my book, but only got a 5 from people who should know their shit. And probably failed hard in their own career xD.

Hayden and Ewan reprising their roles was the only good thing about Kenobi. The writing and directing was awful. They deserved better.

Rogue One was an exception to the Disney Star Wars rule of "put a woman in it and make her gay and lame!". Mandalorian And Andor backed up the proof presented by Rogue One that Disney CAN make good Star Wars, but ONLY if someone involved actually cares to try.

As a Vader fan..it was very disappointing tbh..there was some good scenes but they could be compiled into a 5 minute KZread video. Reva was one of the most pointless characters I've seen thrown into a project...they really tried to force people to like that one. The story and some of the common sense were all completely lost from that show tho..who the hell watches that Leia "run away" scene "s" and think .."damn this is good" also the child in a trench coat tricking everyone at a high end facility...who thought of these dumb things to throw in?
