Hey, Full Grain and Genuine Leather are not the same thing at all. Full grain is high quality and can last over a decade in most cases(not sure about boxing gloves though). Genuine is cheap and often lasts less than a year.

The leather on these lasts a few years, probably the same amount of years it took for me to reply.

Thanks for the post Sir. I just got a pair for my birthday, 16oz. I’ve only had the opportunity to spar with them on 2 occasions, but I do love them. So far so good I say. I don’t use them for pad or bag work, for that I use another lighter pair of gloves. I just use them for sparring sessions. That said, I’m in need of a new pair of ‘ Fight Gloves ‘, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

the thing about the double velcro is that it cuts off circulation to the hand. my hand always falls asleep.

I’ve had a pair of these gloves for 4 months and I hate them. They may look great, have good build quality and fit good when you wear them. But when I strike a pad or a bag in training, I can’t make a tight fist inside the glove and the striking position of my hand is off. They’ve ,been hurting my hands since day one and I find myself going back to my old worn out gloves on heavy training days. The padding is stiff and not forgiving. I am hoping they will break in, but I’ll probably end up getting a pair of Winning gloves and keeping these as spares.

Glenn, I also have a pair that I've had and been using for about a year now. They don't hurt my hands but I do notice the same thing as you - inability to make a tight fist which at first seemed to affect hand position at impact. Now I'm kind of used to them I guess, or maybe they are broken in now. Anyway, wondering what you ended up doing.

Dakota Hayden I got sold them to a club mate last year and ended up going back to the brand I started with. mikadomartialarts.com/shop/boxing-kick-boxing-gear/asahi-leather-boxing-gloves-double-wrist-strap-10-16oz/ A no name house brand from a local supply store in my town. But know the owner and he knows his shit. He’s been training a long time in cross martial arts and knows about the science of striking. These glove are inexpensive but are worth their weight in gold. Priced in Canadian $.

Dakota Hayden If you aren’t able to make a tightly bundled fist and strike On your first 2 knuckles, you are losing net power. Its like having a really powerful car with shitty tires. You have lots of power but the kinetic force is wasted on contact.

I just bought Boon 14oz gloves and the thumb compartment is so tight that they are uncomfortable to wear. Think these would be better? Or too big?

malthus101 hayabusa thumbs are known to be short. Mine are, but I still like using them on the heavy bag due to good wrist support, plus after 5 years the padding’s packed down so I can feel the heavy bag with each shot. Sparring? I like the ring to cage c17 (winning knock offs). For the price they’re a good glove.

mmm careful they use fake "vegan" leather with all their other gloves. This one is leather, but a glove that has lux in the mfg description makes me wonder.. also as a hobbyist leather worker, it's low quality leather (genuine leather is actually cheap leather, with a ton of marketing, all the good layers were removed to make uniform products) 170 bucks, I'd pay 20 a ft^2 for top teir leather, more likely 5 or 10 for this grade. I'd guess this cost them 20 to 40 to make. Which well, your 140 dollar tennies cost nike 7 bucks. I just wish there was less premium, more long term use vibe to these. I'd feel too flashy walking into krav maga as a non black belt for sure.
