I've watched a couple of other Hawaiian Airlines flights, and their concept of first class food doesn't compare well to any other airline. Of course, this is a U. S. domestic flight, and most other videos are international, and the standards are quite different. At least the seating was first-classish, although it's hard to see how a window seat-er could sneak past an aisle guy in full recline, but I'll take SANspotter's word for it.

I’m from Hawai’i. Hawaiian airlines business class product is better than U.S. legacy carriers most of the time. However, I rarely fly Hawaiian on inter-Island routes.

When my tiny brain works out your name is SANspotter and SAN is the code of your local airport. I feel a little stupid to work that out only now

I recently booked a Hawaiian Airlines A330-200 from SAN to HNL for June 2021. It's possible they may change the aircraft on me before then, but it looks like Hawaiian is at least planning to bring the A330 back to San Diego as of spring 2021.

Even with crippling toothache I still very much enjoyed this video! Thank you dude.

Great review. I’ve been on the Hawaiian A330 PDX to HNL back to ITO with the 717’s, and ITO is my hometown.

Love it. Flown HA at least 50+ times. However, had some anxiety in my adult life and been grounded for a while. Down here in socal too.

Great video. I flew last February in First, HNL to SFO and was a great experience. No complaints.

Actually the switch to the a321 is only for the winter months, the A330 will be back at SAN by the summer!

I think it may have to do with Southwest now flying this route also. There are now 8 direct flights daily from San Diego to Hawaii.

I like your sense of humor, I'm hoping to take a trip to Hawaii soon.

We are flying this route in November 22 and Jan 23 and the plane is listed as a A330 for both flight - guess they brought them back

I flew on an Hawaiian Airlines A321from Sacramento to Honolulu and Honolulu to Sacramento and I actually liked it. It’s a really nice airplane.

Great Video! I’m off to Hawaii for the very first time in July next year with AA on the A321 from LAX, flying into HNL and then departing back to LAX out of KOA. It was great to see a review of Hawaiian, even if it’s not the 717 that I’ll be using for my inter island flight, though your 717 video is great!

@@adventurerealm63 Sadly not😢 Had three trips to America cancelled now due to covid. Hawaii, Florida and Washington DC. Will be good to get back across as soon as possible though!

I already miss the Hawaiian airlines A330 in San Diego. I've flown it to Honolulu from San Diego once. It was so good. It's sad that they've swapped to a smaller aircraft. But I hope the 787 will come to San Diego when it comes out.

The a330 is back in service in San Diego now. I have a first class flight this summer on the A330.

That t/o video was like music to my ears!!

Thanks Dr.! Yeah, they probably need the A330 freed up for more international expansion, so now we’re only gonna get the A321neo starting next month. 😕

Hawaiian will fly out of Austin (AUS) starting next April, using the A330.

Yeah, I’m hoping to see the HA 787 here eventually. Probably won’t happen for a while though, since they will need those aircraft for premium international routes.

I think they hate me at this point. 😅 And yeah, that sliding whipped cream was timed perfectly, right? It was totally unplanned, but it worked out very well for the shot!

I think it is a gr8 idea to have A380 service out of SAN especially to HNL. Shoot I didn't come up with that sooner. :(

Thanks for NOT being that guy! There’s always one. Flew home to Maui last week and there was THAT girl. We took off from Denver so I can see wanting to enjoy the views of the Rockies. However, when you’re flying over the pacific and you’re seated on the left hand side of the A/C. The sun is blinding! I had to give up and put on my eyeshades.....couldn’t enjoy my movie. It’s inconsiderate but then again most people are inconsiderate these days. BTW I love your videos Scott🌺

Yeah, the incoming Alaska airlines plane in that clip was when I first noticed that runway 9 was in use. I’m surprised I didn’t yell “holy crap!” while recording. 😂 Anyway, yeah...I hope to see HA 787s at SAN eventually! Might be a while though...

Why does one want a lie flat seat on a 5-6 hour flight vs the JFK or BOS to Honolulu flight?

If I was granted three wishes, #1 would be to travel back in time and fly TWA first class from LAX to HNL. 😄 I imagine that would truly be something special! But these days, the best we have is Hawaiian - which isn’t that bad actually (at least compared to the competition).

Wow I like the plane pic you have in the tiny circle

They have to compete with Alaskan and Southwest which uses 737s. The A321 is much newer and has better fuel economy. The only narrow body aircraft that can compete with the A321 is the 737 max and everyone knows what happened to those. The cost of fuel for the current A330 is probably higher per passenger than on A321. While less passengers, Hawaiian must feel that the fuel saving out weighs less passengers. They are also estimating how much of their basic economy class passengers will be using Southwest Airlines.

Great video man, you should definitely start an airline! Sans Airlines!

Well, this KZread channel and my blog is my job - so technically, yes, these are business trips. Since I’m still poor 😅, I don’t stay in each location very long - just a day or two. In this case, I was in Honolulu for two days. 👍🏻👍🏻

Fast forward a few years the A330 is still going strong to HNL

I have tinkered with a few, but it crops the image so much that there’s so benefit of shooting that wide. I’m trying to shoot less of the super wide angle stuff anyway...that’s an easier solution. 😎👍🏻

I so agree with you about HA! My boys still talk about how amazing that lie flat set flight was on HA.. I am a resident of Kauai and travel to the neighbor islands on HA. When traveling to the mainland we usually fly HA red eye to LAX on the A33O and take Delta back. Gotta get those points.

Please include some inter island flights:) I recall you don't like the Cessna Caravans.....would be nice footage though (on a sunny day;))

Kinda funny how you partner with Surfshark on a flight to Hawaii

Good video but sounds a little more like an advertisement than a candid flight review. I fly HA to and from the mainland often. The meal service is nowhere near as elaborate as you suggest, and Hawaiian only changes the meal selections twice per year. I think the iPads are a poor substitute for seat-back entertainment. It might also be worthy to consider that not everyone is as willing as you are to substitute their excitement about flying to Hawaii for expectations concerning a quality F/J product. Those things aside, HA business class is a competitive product on this route.

Money tied up in a fleet of a380s or 330s? I thought you wanted the 330 for this route.
