A question on the guides. Some of the previous videos, graphics, and text seem to indicate there are or were 3 itineraries per island: Wayfinder, Adventure, and Family. Since I have a family, and we do a lot of active adventures I was looking for more information about what the actual differences are in these itineraries. I cannot find that info. Moreover, when I go into shopping I only see the Wayfinder available. Have the itineraries been consolidated and the family/adventure versions discontinued?

I just came back from the big island. A few tips! Definitely stay around Ali’i drive. I didn’t know if I should stay around Waikoloa at first ( glad I didn’t stay there!!!!). Best food I ate: Lava Lava restaurant ( order the fried fish and chips), trust me, it’s better than other places. Definitely go to Hilo and do all the waterfalls! We stayed at an Airbnb at Kailua Kona ( it’s by Eric) and it’s 10-15 away from Ali’i drive which is great. We also stayed at Royal Kona for one night ( worst decision ever, cockroaches and very pricey). Wouldn’t recommend there, maybe go eat at their restaurant for the pretty lobby and outside atmosphere but the rooms inside Ali’i tower are like a motel 8. Definitely do the manta ray night snorkel. I don’t know how to swim and scared and sharks and everything went great. I wasn’t even scared. I also did the dolphin experience in Hilton waikola village and it was great! Would recommend. I would also recommend highway 11! The highway that goes south somewhat around the coastline. It is very luscious and beautiful! The best beach was Kua beach/ Manini’owali beach. It didn’t smell like fish and it was blue waters and they weren’t freezing cold. It also had a good area without lava rock. It was white soft sand. Honestly I didn’t love any other beach because of the murky water, fish smells, rough sands, sharp lava rock all over. I would also recommend Kekaha Kai state park for snorkeling. I don’t swim well so I recommend this for people that want to snorkel and see beautiful colored fish in shallow waters and very close to shore. Honestly from far away, I didn’t want to come here ( the waters are a tad murky and it smells like fish) but trust me, go! My favorite shave ice place was Kona Wave cafe! I’m picky, trust me. I went to Ocean Rider ( sea horse farm. It was nice but not for the price ($70 per adult). The highlight was holding a sea horse and learning very interesting facts about them but the price is steep!!! I would recommend going to Pololu valley lookout ( beware the hike is hard and very rocky). We just did a little short hike for the views. It’s free to enter. Definitely use Alamo car rental nearest the airport! Took 15 min to get a car! Volcanoes National park is meh. It’s an ok filler for a trip. Some cool things but not something I would do again. Carlsmith beach park: we saw 2 turtles right at the shore line! They are very friendly and approach you. Pu’uhonua o’ haunau national park: $20 is a little step but it was overtaken nice! Overall: take water shoes, rent a car! Sorry, I didn’t know where to write my recommendations and I decided here with my favorite travel KZreadrs! Love you guys!

I went the the Big Island in January, extended a business meeting in Honolulu for a few days. The night snorkel with the manta rays was absolutely amazing! They were just inches from your face. I learned about it the first time I was on the island, but the day I was leaving. Had it on my list to do, so glad I did it!

Thanks for the info. Appreciate all the tips and insights. Will have to check into the waterfall hike and Jeep rental link as we feel renting a Jeep is the only way to go on the Big Island. Our friend, Scott @ Apau Hawaii Tours does the best guided tours of Volcanoes Nat’l Park and we absolutely loved the night snorkeling with the mantas!! Going back with our adult children in Jan for a late Christmas. Some want to sky dive, some want to see the whales and others want to scuba. And, of course, we’re all hoping Kilauea is erupting 😊. Too much to see and do in a week that’s for sure! 🏝️ 😎

Love your channel!! Can you PLEASE recommend a top notch snorkel tour in Waikiki. We recently spent a week in Waikiki and booked a “reef” snorkel trip with Port Waikiki Cruises, Waikiki Hilton and was totally disappointed. The boat “captain” Justin was completely arrogant and had no people skills. Made us feel like he was doing us a favor to be on the boat. The boat ride was to the snorkel site (not a reef) was just a short ride. The snorkel site was occupied by several other boats. The reef was a rock on the bottom of the ocean. Very little marine life to see. The music was so loud, you couldn’t carry on a conversation with others. 95% of the boat ride was on the motor. I think the only reason they hoisted the sail was to display the Hilton sail. This was a complete waist of our time and money. Thanks again for a informative channel.

ouch, that is a rough snorkel trip. Our favorite Oahu snorkel tour leaves from Ko Olina, you can watch our experience and book it here: thehawaiivacationguide.com/activities/catamaran-sail-snorkel-oahu-hawaii/ The best place to snorkel in Waikiki is Turtle Canyon but it gets very crowded and it is most likely where you went. This tour is one of the best, and a smaller power raft but it goes to Turtle Canyon offshore Waikiki: www.boatingoahu.com/turtle-canyon-snorkel-5

Definitely use Alamo car rental nearest the airport! Took 15 min to get a car! Volcanoes National park is meh. It’s an ok filler for a trip. Some cool things but not something I would do again. It’s free. Carlsmith beach park: we saw 2 turtles right at the shore line! They are very friendly and approach you. Pu’uhonua o’ haunau national park: $20 is a little step but it was overall nice! Overall: take water shoes, rent a car! Sorry, I didn’t know where to write my recommendations and I decided here with my favorite travel KZreadrs! Love you guys!
