I do a bit of upland game bird hunting and the odd shot from a .410 does make it in, however, they often pass through. The main issue I have is the shot dragging feathers into the meat. A good way to clean the feathers is to take a toothpick and shove it through the hole while twirling it. This cleans it and checks for shot!

Congrats on the birds. You can use regular milk with a small splash of vinegar as a substitute for buttermilk.

I enjoy your video's, and I'm new to spear fishing as an adult, used to do it every time family went on vacation. We used frog spear tip mounted on bamboo with surgical tubing that we also used for water gun fighting. Any way glad your getting into land hunting its awesome, but just a heads up- shooting birds on the ground, in a tree, or on water is considered unsporting especially if you're hunting with a gun. All ground birds pop up when flushed than drop fast back to the ground that's when you shoot them. You're comment to your host was that you could barely shot them when they were on the ground so that's why you weren't going to try to shoot one while it flew. Well that's what practice is for, skeet shooting is for flying birds like ducks and doves and trap shooting is for quail and chukar. If you don't have the money to buy your own trap shooter and clay pigeons or space, try shooting with pellet gun buy tossing cans. Just like if you were bow hunting, you'd practice to make sure you are capable of giving the animal the respect it deserves. Don't be a donkey. If you aren't good enough to make a clean kill than you should go hungry.

Is there a way to do drone fishing in a way that doesn't increase entanglements and wasted fishing lines responsible for marine life loss? Like stronger fishing lines or something idk im pretty ignorant on this subject but hate ways of furthering polluting an already abused ecosystem.

  • @jacobr9198

Spearfishing is one of the least impactful ways to harvest fish, and that's why I love it so much. using drones to drop rigs way out just increases the possibility of more line being left on the reef, and that's overall much worse than the benefits of a longer "cast". it also poses dangers for people in the water including spearos and freedivers, who could possibly get wrapped up by a fish hooked or something like that. overall not worth it in my opinion even if the premise is pretty cool.

Good job on all accounts. Later on with more experience you will only shoot birds with the shotgun when they are flying. Save shooting them on the ground for the bow 🤙🏼

i like your vids, but you shouldn’t be supporting drone fishing. put in the time and cast your damn lures. the only sailfish caught on a jig was CASTING. other people have caught ahi, ono, mahi etc. CASTING. KEEP DRONE FISHING BANNED!!! it’s the way it should be. don’t call yourself a fisherman if you’re not doing it the right way.
