I had the coconut shrimp and garlic shrimp combo at Gilligan's near the rainbow tower. I ate while sitting on grass and many ants visited me. lol The first time I went to Northshore was in the 80s. We rented a car from a business called "rent-a-dent" 🤣 Anyway, we just drove and ended up at the polo field. There was a match going on and it was interesting. At the end of the match, the main player went over and used his briefcase phone to make a call. 😵 Total shocker as I had only seen one of those on television or in a movie.

Personally, having grown up in/around Haleiwa/ Waialua area, much rather prefer original Haleiwa Joe's locale rather than Haiku. Also, much rather prefer Aoki's/Kaimana's shave ice. NOT saying Matsumoto's is Bad, in any way, just preferential taste.

Giovanni's might be a bit smaller in portion size than the other joints, but ... man, it was enough food for this Chick. My cousin loved it too.

Normally, because they're situated right on the small boat harbor, Haleiwa Joe's usually gets their fish FRESH from local fishing boats or fishers. Snapper, possibly came from Pier 38/UFA?
