Have You Seen the First Feature Length Italian Film?

What's up, collectors! I just received my copy of Terror Vision's latest release, a 4K restoration of the Italian epic from 1911: Dante's Inferno. This is my first release from Terror Vision, and I can't wait to check it out!

Terror Vision is an amazing label, easily one of my favorite labels of all time. A majority of their output is alot of SOV movies from the 80's and 90's which I love. Some of my favorite releases by them is Video Violence 1 and 2, Killing Spree, Cannibal Campout, Woodchipper Massacre. They do also release some shot on film stuff, I will definitely be picking up Dante's Inferno.

Great Video, I've heard of DANTE's INFERNO, but I haven't seen it. Thanks for making us aware of Terrorvision's release of it. As far as Italian Silents go, I've only seen Pastrone's historical epic CABIRIA (1914), which is worth watching. Speaking of silent epics, have you seen BIRTH OF A NATION? I believe you've already seen the great Marnau classix SUNRISE. BTW, it is Charon, in both Greek and Roman myth that takes the souls across the river Styx into the underworld.

Hey Henry! Thanks for letting me know about Cabiria. I just added it to my watchlist. Sounds like my kind of thing. I haven’t seen Birth of a Nation either. And thank you for reminding me of Charon. I remember Scorsese comparing the Taxi Driver from After Hours to that character. Now I want to watch After Hours again!

You should check out Giovanni Pastrone’s film Cabiria. It came out a few years after this film and it’s one of the great silent epics ever made, kind of like an Italian Intolerance in scale. I have the DVD and I don’t think it’s gotten a bluray yet.

That is certainly a phenomenal release, the presentation alone.

Highly recommend checking out their release of the Japanese film River. It isn't a horror film, it is a time loop film from the people that made Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes. Beyond is better, but River was a ton of fun too if you like time focused movies!

I have this pre ordered with their March titles so I am just waiting for those to come out. That packaging looks beautiful. Nice pjck up. Which audio track was the haunting horror droning one? I'd like to choose that one

It's the second audio track by Michael Kiker. Very slow and ominous. I really like the sound of that one. Not sure yet how it translates to the entire film though.
