I cringed when one them said “thinking logically” is one of their masculine traits. Women do have a strong sense of logic behind every decision and interaction, logic isn’t an exclusive male trait.

I think its fair to draw a distinction between the way men and women think. If people want to label that distinction as "more logical vs more emotional" then so be it. They played into stereotypes this entire episode, I'm not surprised she did the same with that question too.

I would agree with you that logic isn't a "male" trait, but if you consider masculine and feminine qualities as existing within every individual, regardless of their sex or gender, oftentimes logic is considered a masculine trait, compared to the more feminine qualities of feeling and intuition. But both exist within everybody to varying degrees

There is science that is for and against this. It's very much up for debate and I think there is some observational evidence that we collectively see throughout our world. Truth is that there are biological tendencies we both fall into that we think we have more control over than we actually do. We need both the thinkers and the emotional to function as a society.

Though I feel that there could have been more fluidity in their sexuality, we shouldn't label them because of their past experiences and experimentation with their sexuality. Sexuality is a spectrum and if someone feels like a certain label fits them more, then that's their choice. Several lesbian women have tried dating and having sex with men too yet ultimately it failed. We should respect similar experiences with straight women.

I agree like if you’re a woman doing stuff, going on dates & being attracted to the same sex on top of the opposite gender then you’re under the bi umbrella, obviously it’s up to you what you identify as but identifying as straight yet pushing back so hard on labels when straight is a label so obviously the issue is w a lgbtq label (ie like Marsha in the video) I feel that is a result of internalized biphobia (which I dealt w as well until I came out as pan & felt more comfortable) but yeah even if you’re not romantically interested in same sex that’s why there’s labels like biromantic/bisexual cuz ultimately if you’re (romantically and/or sexually) attracted to the same sex or more than one gender you’re not straight & there’s absolutely nothing wrong w that I feel like this applies to jayme too even if you’re not romantically attracted to men but you’re sexually attracted to men too then you’re not lesbian you don’t have to “pick a side” you’re still you and beautiful 🤎

As a bisexual woman, I feel like half the women in this video may want to explore the bisexual label for themselves. From my conversations with them, straight women don’t just “take women home” or fantasize about relationships with them. Bisexuality is a spectrum. It’s not “half gay” and “half straight” with equal parts liking men or women or otherwise, and you can be bisexual because you’re willing to entertain a committed relationship with someone with the same gender identity as yours. It doesn’t mean you have to be 50/50 liking men and women exactly the same. It’s not a pie chart. Non-binary people are included in this as well. You can have preferences for men and women but still be bisexual, because all it means is that you’re open to dating more than just the opposite sex than yours.

Thinking logically is a masculine trait, both that and thinking in abstractions. Both are related to increased testosterone which is much higher in males. In truth it is hard for someone who isn't actually male to say whether or not what they consider logical thinking is anything the same as the way men experience it, as they aren't in men's heads and can't truly understand how they think. So therefore women feeling offended by that is somewhat irrelevant as what they consider logical thinking may not be anything like what men consider logical thinking - how would they know?

Perfectly said. I'm a straight woman and rather insecure about my appearance since I have no sex appeal whatsoever lol. I find women on average to be much more attractive than men, but my thought process when I see an attractive or pretty woman is always centered on "I want to be/look like her". And this isn't identical to "I want to be WITH her" in any way whatsoever.

She goes on dates with women, takes them home, implied having sex with them but is on this episode as a straight woman?????? She was definitely past the experimental phase at this point and straight into denial. She literally said her decision to label herself straight was because of her Jamaican upbringing, but if she's on a popular platform that'll get thousands of views admitting to being involved with women beyond experimentation, whats the point of keeping that label? I just feel bad for the women who want to date her seriously.

A lot of people seem to be basically saying you can't question your sexuality and still be straight. Well, all I can say is that in my opinion it is possible because that is the case for me; I went through a period where I was not sure whether I could possibly be bi (with a heavy dose of platonic infatuation thrown in to confuse my brain even more), but after going through that I figured out that my feelings for girls and my feelings for boys are different. In my opinion, at the end of the day, I think your sexuality should be determined by asking the question: "Who am I attracted to in a way that I would want to date them, want to have a romantic relationship with them, want to have sex with them, etc?" For me, I know that I don't want that with a girl. So in this video maybe that's where some of the people on the straight side (or really both sides) are coming from too. They've like, thought about it, maybe been confused and experimented at some points, but after that, they understood themselves better and decided that at the end of the day they were straight or gay. Even for the one(s) who said they still sometimes date women or feel that they can be attractive, maybe they're coming at it from like a "yeah women are alright but I'd never see myself having a serious relationship with one" kind of perspective. Of course I don't know for sure but just a thought. ~:~

As a bisexual these straight women would have confused me even more if I saw this as a child. None of my female friends had attraction for women and I don't understand why so many people act like all women do. When people questioned if I was bi they would say all girls find other girls attractive so how could I know/be bi. When comparing attraction it's easy to see that their "attraction" to women is just consciously noticing when someone has attractive features but not being attracted to them.

I'm a straight woman and all three of them confused me tremendously, I found them to be not representative of heterosexual woman at all. Neither I nor any other hetero woman I've discussed issues related to this topic with have ever felt romantically nor sexually attracted to other women. There's a difference between perceiving someone as attractive (and, let's be honest, you see much more attractive women than men) and wanting to get intimate with them. Obviously, it's healthy and common to explore one's sexuality, but I can't wrap my head around why someone who masturbates to other women would consider themselves to be representative of the average heterosexual woman. There's nothing wrong with labeling oneself as bisexual with a preference for men, or with researching the split-attraction theory and identifying as a bisexual heteroromantic. I think most of us perceive attractive women from a more envious perspective, as in thinking "Damn, I wish I would look like her" or "How could I improve my appearance taking her as an inspiration?" while looking at pictures of Adriana Lima during the peak of her career. And "I want to be (like) her" is obviously not identical to "I want to be with her".

I can't help but feel that many people aren't understanding what it means to be straight and lesbian. Of course label (yourself!) however you want. But those labels are about attraction. Questioning sexuality and experimenting doesn't automatically make someone bisexual. Even going on dates or sleeping with someone doesn't automatically mean both people are attracted to each other. There are also different types of attraction. You can find someone incredibly attractive in am aesthetic sense. But never be attracted to them sexually/romantically/sensually. On the other hand, it's very possible to find someone sexually attractive but not romantically like one of the lesbian women stated. It's also possible to find someone romantically attractive but not sexually attractive.

It's kind of like asexuals and aromatics. There are asexuals who engage in sex with their partner for multiple reasons. One example being that their partner is not asexual, some asexuals might have sex with their partner because they don't mind doing the action and their partners would like it. Of course some asexuals wouldn't be ok in a relationship like that and that's valid too. Some aromantic people who also have relationships with the structure of a romantic relationship. They can treasure people and form deep bonds with them that aren't romantic and may still have sex with their partners and be sexually attracted to them.

I'm so confused. The straight women in this video clearly expressed having attraction towards women. They had crushes on women, slept with women, dated women and they still label themselves as straight and not bi. Which is valid because people can put whatever label they feel comfortable with on themselves and it's nobody's business. However, for the purpose of this video, where two opposite sides were supposed to compare their experiences, couldn't they really choose women who were actually 100% straight? I know straight women who are attracted only to men and don't even have a need to question whether they are attracted to girls. Partially my own journey in discovering my own sexuality made me realise that I might be bi, because every girl I ever asked whether they had some feelings for women always answered no, with full confidence. So for the purpose of the video, why not invite straight women who don't fall into bi spectrum? It just creates confusion. Especially among bi people, who feel like their experiences are being invalidated because apparently they have to either be straight or gay and if they're not it just means that they just haven't "picked a side" yet.

cuz for some reason ppl act like nuance doesnt exist. instead of just saying they arent straight to have to jump the 'i dont like labels' bandwagon when sexuality isnt a social constrcut. its human nature. theyre only making it a bigger deal when they deny it. like get over yourselves

As a person who comes from two lesbian moms, I think I can offer a perspective to conversations like this that is often missed out on. My life is completely normal in regards to my parents, the only difference being they are two women. The way they raised me and talked about sexuality with me is the same way any open minded straight couple would. It’s important to realize that I am still my own person and whatever sexuality I chose to identify with has nothing to do with my parents, it’s all to do with me.

I think this was a very important and enjoyable conversation. When it comes to the bi thing. To be completely honest and vulnerable with you. Sometimes I want to identify as bi, but I'm scared to. I come off as a noticeably gay guy in normal life. Like no one questions its. I guess I get scared because I feel like people would look at me differently? OMG Im part of the problem! Okay, also, I love how I socially relate to women. I feel like they open up to me and feel safe with me because they just assume I'm gay and I don't want that to change? I feel like some girls might get defensive cause they think I might be hitting on them. okay so I am fully aware of how problematic I am sounding. Also, I feel like if I told people I'm bi they wouldn't believe me because I'm not really masculine and people will think Im lying or have issues or something. Plus, like, 95% of the time I'm mostly just attracted to men.... but I feel more emotionally and romantically attracted to women. Also I guess I enjoy, and I identify with playing the role of a gay guy. It feels very normal and natural. I also fought really hard to come at as gay. If I come out as bi, I don't know why I feel like it will change so many things. My parents would probably get their hopes up with me bringing home a woman or something and I really really doubt that I would end up in a relationship with a woman. Once again guys I am so sorry about how problematic my comment is lol! This was way too much for a youtube comment haha.

I actually think there's alot more bisexual people in the world than people realize but most people don't acknowledge it because of all the misconceptions about it. Being bisexual simply means you are attracted to more than one gender, period. It doesn't matter if you choose to act on the attraction or HOW you choose to act on it. Bisexual people with no gender preference (Pansexual) people exist but there's also people who dont have a 50/50 ratio and might heavily prefer one gender over another. You can have a 95/5 ratio and still be bisexual.

  • @jadaonye

I completely agree with you, as someone that has been trying to figure out my sexuality for the past few weeks, I think it is true that bisexuality doesn’t have to be a 50/50 ratio, and also phrases like biromantic, heteromantic and homoromantic need to be talked about more in society because I think there is a lot of people that are sexually attracted to both men and woman but are only romantically attracted to one gender and visa versa

pansexuality is not about having no gender preference. a bisexual person can still have a preference and be bisexual. i think pansexuality is often misunderstood as almost being "gender blind". the definitions of pansexuality and bisexuality overlap, but it all comes down to how the individual feels which labels suit them best.

  • @ateezstan

    @ateezstan

@@artangel1589 i don't understand ? i know that the terms overlap because bisexual is an umbrella term with pan falling underneath it & ive generally read about pansexual people not taking gender into account when experiencing attraction which would lead me to think that they don't have a preference? otherwise theres no difference between the labels of pansexual and omnisexual...
