Have you ever tried this?! Street photography with the Fujifilm X100V - My secret weapon!
This is a HUGE street photography tip for all beginners and experienced street photographers like myself. if you are ever stuck in a superb location with your Fujifilm x100v or older models, but not finding anything inspiring. Remember it's 'secret weapon'.. make sure to practice using the camera with this setting on too! You can of course just keep a screw-on filter in your camera bag for any other camera type
I hope you enjoy the vid

#7 The bicycle shot with the guy in the middle of the bike looking through. That was a shot that you will never get again.
I love photographers interacting with each other and chatting, it's great to see.

Cheers Gareth, great video as always.. 5 and 7 are absolutely killer shots 👏👏👏
You are a fantastic teacher! I love watching your videos. Thank you!
Thank you Gareth. As inspiring as ever. Happy New year.
I loved shot number 4, with the guy appearing behind the blurry bike.
Another great vid, keep up the great work
#7 is fantastic - a great example of a brilliant idea being kicked up an extra notch by a bit of lucky timing! Love it! 👏📸😃
Those conditions in that location were epic. Love the long exposure bike images, great idea 👍 Happy New Year to you Gareth, appreciate your content over the years

Thanks for taking us along. Really nice frames.
Love the videos; great bike shot too. Cheers 👋
No 2 for me it’s amazing
Another great insight into street photography. My favourites are 5, 8 and 9. Thanks for sharing.
#2 bike shot was my fave 😊

For me the best thing about this video was the interaction with that Dave! I love these kinds of moments as they make your day better & it connects you with people! Great video & love the images made!
The 7th one is my favourite one, pretty awesome.
Excellent!
Something about the simplicity of that #9 shot that I just love. Great video!
number 9
Thanks for the video. The number one and seven are my favourites
Good one with fine shots. Bike No. 2 on the bridge my favourite. Also the wheel.
Top bloke : Talks sense : Very inspirational : Plus takes epic photos!!
Great stuff again Gareth. This has always been my problem. Technically I really love the bike shots (I all too often get caught up in the technicalities - but it s all learning for sure) - the slow shutter, low angle, the waiting and everything it took to capture those wonderful images. But if I wanted to hang any on my wall it would be 1 for that raw old style and 9. Keep them coming and I hope you have something coming from your recent trip to Ireland.
Outstanding!!!

Number 1 and 4 were my favourites, but it was a tough choice. Lots of good advice that got my creative juices flowing.
1 & 4 are 🔥
Happy new year Gareth , don't be so hard on yourself , best wishes, keep up the good work 🙏
Those conditions 😮😮😮😍 Awesome video lad
Brilliant video as usual 👏 best shot it's between 7 and 9. Happy New Year.
Really educational and motivating. Just subscribed. Keep this coming.
Great video, I really liked listening to your thoughts on shooting! 7 and 9 were my favourites. In 9, the way the the structure just fades into the sky is fantastic. Amazing work!
3:10 its a nice shot! is like an old photograph mix with the future with those guys holding their phones. this is art man!
Love the bike shots, 3 & 7 for me - think that distant couple and their closeness tells a little story of its own 😊
Thank you.
Love the bikes shot, my favorite is 7.
Cool video Gareth, I liked the first bike shot #1, some cracking images mate an inspiration as always, I made the opposite mistake in my video, I concentrated on ICM and missed a lot of opportunities., Thanks for sharing and a very Happy New Year.
Excellent images Gareth. I especially like your use of black & white with the mist. I really like #9; but, #7 is fantastic. Happy New Year. 🎉
3,4,5 & 9…all great!…❤

I really liked the first of your 3-bicycle images. It’s nice with the bicyclist surrounding the street lamp and the speed of the bicyclist leaves more to the imagination rather than “man on a speeding bike”: The stillness of the two people standing near the street lamp balances well with the cyclist and fog around Big Ben also balances well with the cyclist.
For me number 7 . The guy looking into the camera through the bike makes it .
Superb video Gareth with some fab tips. I'm very lucky as I live only 45 minutes on the tube from the centre of London, so get up there quite often, but will certainly try some of your suggestions. 5, * & 9 for me. Cheers and Happy New Year.
Love the bike shots Gareth. For me the second one works best because the bike is more defined. They may not be street photography but the shots of the London Eye are fantastic. Love the portrait shot where the wheel drifts in and out of the mist at the top and bottom of the frame 👍

Just watched this video 7 months later, and loved your photos! My two favorites #5 and #9... extremely unique and distinct in that they aren't the 'usual or expected.' Cheers!
Bro…your channel is super underrated! Great shots ! Cheers from the US.
Another great and natural (and helpful) video Gareth, thank you. You asked for a favourite image, and I'll have to say No. 9. Whilst I can see the artistry of the cyclist shots ( and the serendipity of the shot with the guy framed in the passing bike frame ) I like the simplicity and tones of the wheel almost magically emerging from the fog . Each to their own, but that's the one I would have been happiest with when I got home .
Thanks - I love the bike shots , I think the number four is my favourite with the separation between the handle bars and the lights

Hi Gareth...great video. I follow you and Sean Tucker from Spain. I started watching KZread videos on photography during the pandemic and grew addicted to it.. 😂😂😂, and it has the advantage of helping me improve my English. My favorite is #5 for the idea of a passing ciclist is dead clear, and I appreciate the gesture of the girl at the backgroung. And I love # 8 & 9 for the mist and edition. They're great. I spent a week in London last August with my son, and stayed in an apartment just 10 minutes away from Westminster Bridge, so I greatly enjoyed this video. I enjoyed an awful lot taking pics of the city
7 and 9. Happy New Year!

Just started to follow you, really interesting. Got very excited (sad bas***) about the London Eye images, so those plus shot 1 for me. Cheers, Nick
Excellent presentation- I wish I had seen it before 5 December when I was walking around the exact spot looking for "something different".
#7 is mega!!! The shot is still fantastic without the guy but he makes it so unique. Great ideas re having projects etc, I will def be looking to try more long exposure stuff and being more deliberate as opposed to just snapping away. Happy new year!
Great leson.
I was todays years old when I realized the x100v has a tilt out screen 🤦🏽♂️ great shots none the less
You've got some amazing images on a day I would have given up on Gareth, just goes to show what opportunities I must miss, Rich
They are all fab. This has given me ideas to go Brisbane and shoot slow shutter speed around the Brisbane river. I like number 2 and number 9

Love the black and white styling. Was that a film sim in camera or editing after? I really liked image 5. Something about the people in the backgrounds positioning.
Photo 6. There's enough bike to be recognisable without taking your eye off the clock tower. Photo 1. Because I'm a bit obsessed about having images of people on their phones. In the not too distant future people will remark on how strange it was (like seeing photos of people smoking in bars and restaurants seems today). I actually don't like photo 7. I don't know where to look. My eyes are all over the place, trying to figure out what's going on, what it's a photo of. Some people may think this is a sign of a good image because of those same reasons (it's all subjective right?). Great channel btw Gareth. FYI. I have a £8 Silicon wrap (Ebay) on my Fuji X100V for exactly the same benefits you got from that L-bracket. I highly recommend them. It's grippy and protects against annoying scratches (that ultimately devalue the resale value). I found myself being a bit too "precious" about it before.
love this, what film simulation did you use? is it acros ?
This is an unusually good video, thank you. The work produced eg the bike scene is first class, but I really liked the way you talk through your thinking as you take the photos. (By the way, I don't think the music added to the photos benefits them and it is not necessary.) There were good suggestions afterwards as well which I can use. It's a bit early to say it is one of the best videos of the year (it is January 1st!), but it is well worth watching several times.

Yes, image stabilisation in the Mk 6 please, Fujifilm! Keep a good grip on that X100v; they’re highly sought after and hard to find… I was offer £911 for mine in a trade-in… decided to keep it (I had thought I’d buy the X-T5 but decided I don’t need it). I use the X100v & a GRIIIX for street photography, so you have me puzzled by the title, Ga. Happy new year to you… 🎉🎉🎉🏴
Got to be number 7
Top tip, When in London St Thomas' Hospital opposite Westminster a M&S cafe on the ground floor. Happy days. Number two with the girls arms out wide.

Love the nd idea. You might want to try popping a Manfrotto MP3 in your bag. Probably street photography heresy but put it on your camera and now everything is a tripod (bins, railings, floor etc)
06:59 - Take a look at Manfrotto's "Large Pocket Tripod" for something like this. I love that little thing.
This is a very good video. Consider adding a mini tripod to your kit. I always carry one with my X100V, along with a remote release.

4. & 7 if I had to choose. I think the rectangles in 3 are from a flashing bike light and it’s an interesting effect but it probably adds too much emphasis to the left hand side of the frame.

My favourite part of this video and it’s something I’d love to see a lot more of is the part around the London eye The reason why is because it wasn’t street or landscape Which is the norm But showed creativity and really showed your photographers eye I would say that sequence in the video was what I would call general photography ie not sticking to a genre I would absolutely love to see you out on a photo trip not sticking to street or landscape and just see what you can get out of the scene around you

I like both bike shots but the second one is phenomenal . One thing does annoy me about the shots = its the bridge lamp cutting through the tower on H of P . Even though (I think) the H of P aren't your focal point and the bridge lamp is beautiful it still annoys me ! Many thanks for all your great tips at the end of the vid, I take a lot from them.

Ga, have you done a video on using the ND filter in the X100v? Maybe an idea for one… I think I used it one (accidentally switched it on when I had the camera for a short while) but never since… don’t know when to use it in all honesty.
I liked the first one more than the others. Kinda looks like it was shot on film in the 50's.
Which hand grip plate are you using?
