god... I get you can fall out of love with your partner or husband, and not even be aware of it, until you meet someone that makes your heart beat fast again... it literally happened to me. But the second I became aware of my feelings and thought about what it all meant I sat down with my husband and told him, after the shock he also agreed we had drifted apart. Met up with the other guy (we had met online, and no, not on a dating site) some days later, never cheated. 3 years later we're engaged, and my ex husband and I are friendly again, and he's honestly happy with his life and even happy for me. People, don't cheat. If you want something else, end the relationship first, or ask for an open one, ask if they're into your kinks or whatever it is that you want, but don't fucking cheat. It scars people for life and they'll have trust issues in every relationship in the future, to some degree.

Caught my ex cheating because she used my laptop to use messenger and didn't log out. The next time I turn it on, I'm greeted by messages from someone she called "nerd daddy". Finally decided to kick her out of the apartment, long story short, she was abusive as hell shortly before this which is probably when she met the guy tbh. I'm much better off now though, especially with the knowledge that karma saw to it that she almost ended up homeless because of the bridges she'd burned, and the fact that "nerd daddy" was just as abusive to her as she was to me. Good riddance.

A doctor’s job is to be there when someone needs help, usually near death or needing help to prevent eventual death. Any person who cheats should be ashamed of themselves, but if they cheat on a doctor/military/police/firefighter/other super important or demanding job? They need to get nothing. The stats say kids from single mother homes (women usually win custody majority of the time) usually lead to bad things like higher chance of dropping out of school,going to prison, addicted to drugs, suicidal, rapist, school shooter, sex workers etc. I agree cheating & abuse (sidenote: i do make a exception for cheating for men in sexless marriages, because if it's sexless,we Kno who's not giving it up majority of the time & I feel sorry for the men that gotta sit there & eat it, wit no sex for over year is insane, and just because she's not having sex wit him, doesn't mean she's not having sex) marriage are prob only deal breakers & you should leave but the kids would be better off in a two parent home

Never been in a relationship at all so I sometimes feel a bit lonely about it, I'm a pretty paranoid person in general so stories like these make me reconsider how much do I actually want a relationship and whether I'm ready for one. There's many inherent risks when you get into this kind of stuff so I'll try to remember the potential red flags if, god forbid, this ever happens to me.

Re: "found a used condom in the trash" Buddy of mine found out his girlfriend was cheating on him when they had plumbing issues. Turned out she knew about the "used condom in the toilet" thing and was flushing them instead. The plumber started giving my friend an earful about how he "shouldn't flush your condoms". Buddy got his tubes tied at 18 since he decided early he never wanted kids and thus never used a condom.

Not if you choose wisely who to spend your time with. Be cautious and start a new relationship slowly. It's all media hype about having sex soon after a couple of dates. You can find someone who agrees with your values. It's just up to you to determine if you are a good match in terms of communication and values. If I had good communication skills and my head screwed on properly, I would have never accepted a second date with an ex boyfriend who I ended up having a three year relationship with. We both wasted three years of our lives and it could have all been avoided if one or both of us had any skills to communicate our values and expectations.

My neighbor tried to cheat on his girlfriend with me. He showed up at my apartment around 2am with some "emergency". I let him in but after about 10 or 15 minutes I asked him to leave because he was only trying to get into my pants, not some emergency like he had said. His girlfriend was out front, watching from her car, the whole time. After he went home, I hear them fighting for the rest of the night. Early in the morning, she confronts me about the whole thing. It was a little difficult getting her to believe me, because he was a serial cheater, but apparently his story matched up with mine, that not a thing happened. She was ready to murder the both of us!

I was a Sheriff Deputy in Austin Texas. I came home early one night to surprise my wife and found her in bed with my best friend. She showed no remorse and challenged me asking what I was going to do. I simply grabbed my duty firearm and reminded her we were in Texas and killing a cheating spouse fell under justifiable homicide. I will never forget the look of horror on her face, I don't remember pulling the trigger only flashes. I called 911 dispatch to tell them what happened once I snapped out of it. I was arrested, charged with double murder. Kept my mouth shut, spoke to a lawyer. Article 1220 of the Texas Penal Code was the first thing brought up and the case was quickly dismissed by the District attorney. They must have thought it would have been a total shit show if it went to trial and the media caught wind. I was back at work the next week like nothing happened. Since I was legally still her spouse I got to decide her burial arrangements. I had her cremated and took a dump in the urn and gave it to her parents. That was twenty years ago. I remarried, have two children and my wife knows if she ever caught me cheating she has my complete permission to shoot me.

One thing I don't get is the cheating because "You weren't paying attention" thing. Most times the spouse is working too hard to wipe their own butt but the cheater only sees their needs first.

Got into a car accident with my fiance's car, my phone flew into the windshield and shattered, one of my teeth had gotten chipped during the accident, so when I got home I was using his phone to call a dentist to arrange an appointment to go in, his ex had emailed him asking if he was ok while I was using the phone thinking he was who had got into the accident, seeing the popup with her name I clicked on it and it made my day go from bad to worse, I was devastated, they had been meeting up on and off for over a year. At least it wiped out any guilt I had for being in his car during the accident 😅

As much as I enjoy these stories they just reiterate why I don't trust people and also why I would never get married.

My ex started being distant with me for a while after a new girl started at his work. I knew something was going on, but had no proof. He started hiding his phone and iPad from me when he was on it. On my birthday he wouldn’t pay any attention to me or do anything. I got up to go to the bathroom and saw he was messaging her. While he slept, I was in the bathroom throwing up because I was sick. I took his iPad and read the messages. They were confessing their feelings for each other and even talking about running away together and taking our 2 year old daughter away from me. He then lied to me and went out to meet her the next day after I had gotten home from the hospital. We broke up the day after that. Jokes on him, he messed everything up with her and she won’t even talk to him anymore. We are friends and trying to be civil for our daughter’s sake

why do people try to argue about why they are cheating instead of just leaving? I can understand they are hurt at the moment but honestly that silence could inflict more damage on the cheater because they would be conflicted by their own thoughts about you and what you thought on top of their own guilt for cheating, if they have any

As someone who will never be married and has barely ever been in a relationship, I find these really entertaining.

I didn’t but she admitted to one of my friends afterwards that she had cheated on me and asked her if she wanted to know the details; my friend said no and made sure I didn’t know until I was ready to know. After the breakup my mental health took a massive nosedive to the point that I was contemplating ending things; my friends and family were the ones that pulled me back, she didn’t care and is still trying to play the victim nearly 2 years later

We adopted the puppy in April,Her name isAnnie,and my mom unexpectedly passed away two weeks later. The day of her viewing my other ex,who was his best friend, and I reconnected. I accidentally caught my ex on a hook up site. Way back in the day if you didn’t log out of an email account sometimes another person using same computer will have access. He didn’t log out before deploying and an email popped up from a hookup site. There was a photo of him naked. It was devastating and worse he is convinced I hacked his account. I didn’t. He was just sloppy. But me being me and loving him so much I stayed. And he kept creeping. Finally left me for some idiot who left her husband. Both of them are aholes. But she is going to find out that she ain’t special because he’s going to do it again. And again. And again and I hope he does because karma. For both.
