Have the Longest Telephone Conversation | Full Task | Taskmaster

Комедия

Have the longest telephone conversation without the other person knowing you are trying to have a long telephone conversation. During the call, you must not mention television or Taskmaster. Every minute, you must reveal and carry out an action from the board. If the person you call says any of the key words, you must hang up immediately. You must call someone within two minutes from now.

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

    @@bragny I think it’s the toughest one too. I’ve played over a few possibilities in my mind and I think they’d likely say it in almost all of them. I think the best bet would be like Victoria’s tongue, i.e. just to move on very quickly. Another, but which I think would be disallowed, would be to ask them in a language they don’t speak. The task is to ask them for the information, not to use the word yourself. The ideal would be to ask them in such a technical way that they don’t understand, but realistically a random friend would have as good a scientific understanding of rainbows as the contestant.

  • @hafsaz4513

    @@icturner23 the other language thing is interesting, I thought about whether you could ask them in another language you both speak, and even if they say it back they're not saying the word "rainbow". I wonder if it would count or not

  • @bragny

    @bragny

    Жыл бұрын

    @@icturner23 I think another way be to phrase it differently. Like disguise the question as a rapid fire thing with other questions. Something like "Hey just a rapid fire question, just yes or no! Have you ever seen a sunset?" Then wait to see if they get the gist of it being rapid fire and just yes or no or if their reply has sunset in it and then ask the real question. "Ok rapid fire remember, just yes or no, have you seen a rainbow?" Something like that. I think the language thing would probably be disallowed. Or if they answer in another language but if translated it contains that word that would still count as them having said the word. Like if I were phone a family member in Germany them saying "Regenbogen" would count as them having said "rainbow"

    The only way I can think of is to say something like "did you see the rainbow over [specific place]", putting more emphasis on where they may have seen one over them seeing a rainbow. I know that if I was asked "have you seen that rainbow over London?", my response would be about how I haven't been to London in ages. Or be more focused on the place, especially if the person I was talking to used it as a jumping off point to ask about where I've been. The topic would move away from rainbows quick enough that I probably wouldn't repeat the word.

The caller did ok-ish, up until the point where the business person asked who they were supposed to be temp working for. Caller said Mr. Smith. Then like 2 seconds later they PUT MR. SMITH ON THE PHONE! Mr. Smith was confused but told him to sober up and call back the next day. Dude got the tickets.

    I am old lady, Lol. Sorry. Didn't know you had replied. I'm not George, I'm Georgie. My main interest is Allied air forces, SOE, ATA, Jewish and gay people serving in frontline or intelligence. A few interesting side stories Joe Herman and John Vivash amazing luck story. Joe sounds American, but it was an Oz sqn. You SHOULD know about the New Zealander who was the only winner of the VC and bar - ie, won twice, IN WW2 - Charles Upton VC and bar. And was famed for being really kind and gentle with animals. You might like to know about the first male to female sex change in Britain. Ex car racer pre war, father of two, Spitfire pilot, POW and after sex change, still raced cars. Roberta Cowell... That is a few stories you may not know about as an American? Or GCSEs - is that UK?

    @@georgielancaster1356 Those are amazing! I’m sorry for mistaking your gender, ma’am. I do think those are really cool stories! I’ve never heard of them. GCSE’s are UK, yeah, I did take History as a subject but it was more based on British and Welsh history rather than overall history. I’ve always been a fan of people telling me about their favourite things, so feel free to reply to me anytime whenever you want to share any facts or tidbits. :) I’m on the young side, so no doubt there’ll be things that I don’t know about, and I’d love to learn more. :D

    @@Captain_Bottles I just wrote a huge long reply and phone wiped it! So much info!!! Can't face typing it again. Have a look at the story of Charlie Brown and Franz Stigler. One of the nicest stories of the war. Always read multi sources of the stories. Some do no proper research, write myths, make up stuff! Some find fresh info. Slowly, you learn sources to trust. There are actually video interviews with C & F, as old men, on yt. I had given you so much gay info, too. You must know all about Alan Turing, one of the greatest men of WW2, and gay - and totally betrayed by the British Establishment. I would say send me a reminder for more info, but yt never tells me I have a reply or like. Or one in about 200. I fluked getting a like notification and didn't know about what, and came back to find I had a reply - much more important, but I find I really do get a notification for about only 1 in hundreds of likes or replies, so there is no guarantee I will see.the reminder. I will try to keep in touch. I'll tell you a few places to visit for a wonderful wallow in human stories of WW2.

    For anyone who's curious, Doors 4 and 9 were never opened by any of the contestants. Bast i Test did this task this season, and those doors were opened. The rest of the instructions and their corresponding doors line up in that version. So presumably for this one, Door 4 reads "Mention carrots three times" and Door 9 reads "Laugh at everything they say."
