I don't think that the Bears are overrated, but they made so many drastic changes and overhauled their team to such a degree that people are sick and tired of speculating. They want to see this product on the field, and the season still seems so far away! Enough talk. It's time for action!

2 thousand yard receivers including a likely HoFer, a thousand yard rusher, 2 top tier rookies, a defense with 2 groups arguably in the top 5, solidly in the top 10 (LBs and secondary). It’s definitely a good team, let’s see if they can put it all together and see how the trenches turn out.

Yeah, I wouldn’t say that you have one or two decent offensive lineman. Your linebackers are totally overrated overpaid receivers on paper look pretty good quarterback is a complete mystery. Running backs are subpar. Defensive line is one of the worst in the league.

The roster isn't the issue. They don't even need the new receivers & QB they got. The Bears led the entire NFL in offense for 3 weeks straight in '22 with just Fields, Getsy calling the offense despite having a #1 WR who can't catch passes that hit him in the hands kzread.info/dash/bejne/maCkw9uaYNvgXZc.html & Chase Claypool. Before you dismiss this again, let me point out some thing. You know who _didn't_ do this, ever? Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Josh Allen or even Zach Wilson. My point is, don't dismiss this as a fluke, because guess what? The week before that 12-10 win against the Vikings then the 4-5 games afterwards the same sets of plays were called & once again, the Bears had offense. When the offense works better due to Just Play-Calling that means the play-calling was at fault, not the roster. So gee, do we have some way of knowing who was calling what plays? Because Matt Eberflus boasted about it being him So Convincingly that You The Fans accepted this & media stopped speaking to Getsy. So let's seek clues. Well, the 2nd streak coincided with the hiring of a new DC & acquiring Montez Sweat. So it's _possible_ that Eberflus was a little too busy acclimating them to meddle in the offense as much as he would normally. & it _is a weird coincidence that_ the 1st streak only came after Fields publicly called out his coaches, diplomatically & not by name of course. This was after weeks of Eberflus being unable to stop reporters asking about the order for Fields to not pass to certain receivers on certain plays that was killing all their drives. Oh wait, I don't need to look into all that. If Eberflus was in any way competent then there would be No Way his OC could _sneak not calling_ the winning offensive plays by him *for a full year.* Ergo the decision to use the plays that made the offense half as effecitve instead of the ones that worked _HAD_ to be Eberflus'. So this team is only overrated if we don't ignore the reality of its terrible play-calling by an HC who would rather lose with His Plays than with with those of his OC. Of course _pretending that play-calling affects nothing won't change play on the field_ but hey, you've all already been doing this for two full years so likely you'll just keep on doing so.

We just don't know till they take the field To go from 3 to 7 wins in year 1 & 2. Plus 3 blown double digit leads in the 4th due to piss poor play calling and suspect coaching. Literally cost them a 10-win season, but I can't go off what ifs or trying to make an excuse, but you can tell how poorly the coaching staff and QB play was late when both needed to execute keeping a lead to go away with a W. When you go out of your way to sign and acquire veterans in Sweat, Edmunds, Edwards, Allen, Moore, Swift, Davis, Everett, and Byard. You'd expect 10 wins at the minimum to say the very least.

Great post! Caleb is a massive X factor for the Bears this season. It’s easy to overhype him with all the talent around him but he is a rookie. Vegas is usually accurate with an 8.5 line, so 8 or 9 wins seems very realistic and you can debate 7 or 10. Anything outside of that range is likely a stretch too far.

Should do a vid like this for the Texans. Everyone acts like it’s their destiny win the AFCS again, go 14-3, spank the Chiefs in the AFCCS, and take whoever comes out of the NFC to pound town. And anyone who dares suggest they might be in 2nd place in the division by like…a game, or not do all the other aforementioned things, you have “no ball knowledge”. (Nvm the fact you don’t need to win the division to do all those other things) People just make it seem like it’s inconceivable for the Texans to not do all that, and that it’s heresy to think CJ Stroud isn’t a top 3 QB.

About the only stat I can think of to support that they won't be good is that Stroud had as many TO-worthy plays as Josh Allen did, but he had a near-Brady Level of luck regarding them. His first INT was fumbled back to the Texans. Several were dropped. One hit a defender in the helmet, had he turned around, he'd have caught it. Brady once had _two_ INTs turned over in a playoff game on penalties that didn't affect any part of the plays. He's won playoff games where he & his entire offense have scored Zero Points. His winning % in playoff games he's thrown *3 or more INTs in* is higher than that of Aaron Rodgers in ones he's throw 3 or more TDs in. Now there is the sophomore jinx to worry about, but that's not a stat. & neither is luck. But luck trumps stats. So I'm gonna be watching to see if his continues.

@@andrebryant5081 First off, this year Fields is making for less than what Caleb Williams will make. Next year would be the 5th year option at 22-25 million. Then comes the Franchise Tag or Franchise price for Fields after that so you have time. At the moment Fields is a better QB and leader then Caleb Williams. Plus, there style of player is similar so who knows how Williams will develop. Plus, the Bears could have offered Fields a Jordan Love style short-term extension. I would have traded the pick for MHJ, DE Verse or Turner. The 2nd round pick could have been Center Jackson Powers-Johnson and you could have picked up additional 3rd round pick and a high pick in next year's draft. Keep in mind the picks in the Trubisky trade ended up being Fred Warner, Alvin Kamara and Solomon Thomas.

As a Bears Fan they are overrated! 1. Matt Eberflus is a bottom 5-8 HC in the League. 2. Ryan Poles stripped down the team. Hasn't taken any responsibility for 10-24 record and has an average job. Then his aversion to find a quality Center in the draft or free agency is mind boggling. 3. Offensive Line (especially Pass Blocking) is bottom 3rd in the league. 4. Defensive Line is really weak and struggles to get a pass rush. 5. Caleb Williams is a rookie and I agree with Merril Hoge and Bill Belichick a lot of the players that made him special in college will not translate in the pros. I see Caleb Williams ceiling as a Kyler Murray type player. C.J. Stroud is a better and more consistent QB than Williams.

@@andrebryant5081 That's pure BS. These ratings systems are clearly flawed. Tell me, what score do they give o-linesmen for blocks they don't attempt? Exactly, they have no way to even record those. So when you watch a game & see the o-line simply ignore the existence of pass rushers like the 1st 23 minutes of kzread.info/dash/bejne/eJ2drZRqht2vj9I.html & see a stat saying they "give him time" when _CLEARLY_ he has Zero Time, that's BS. The pass-rusher they _DO block_ get blocked. PFF simply isn't counting the unblocked defenders. Those 23 minutes are not even one half of one game. The person who made it pointed out two specific plays where the o-line sabotaged plays then said he simply wasn't going to mention it every time anew because it Keeps Happening throughout the Entire Game. Now imagine being the guy whose life & career are at stake due to injury from this & you see this happening over & over in front of your eyes almost Every Single Play. You're gonna watch out for pass-rushers before watching out for the far less threatening receivers, no? Call me selfish, but yeah, *I* might. Those stats are pure BS. It's like the passer rating. At a certain point you get more points for throwing the ball into the dirt than you get from completing a pass that lowers your yards per completion. Baker Mayfield _mastered_ the art of doing this for 2 years. Same with the o-line. They're being rated only for the blocks they attempt. Not any of the times they allow pass-rushers through unblocked are counted. If they were, they'd be dead last by enough to fit another league between them & 2nd to last.
