Morty definitely sounds a lot less nasaly, but considering his character development and growth I actually think it fits him more now. Same with Rick's voice sounding a lot more even and less crackly than when Roland did it but again considering Rick's development I feel it fits him too
Did anyone else notice that Rick chose to get ice cream right away when Diane came back? That’s where his family was going before they were murde*ed.
this episode was absolutely amazing. Honestly I think its the best one theyve done. And it STILL has my mind racing on so many things.

I just need to know, are the three photo's on the wall the only three people who ever used the hole, or are they the only three people to ever come out of the hole? Or, like Morty, did everyone else forget to take a pic?

There were no human remains in the hole, and I think of the hole killed people the Denny’s wouldn’t advertise it, so the hole probably isn’t lethal. All the photos look like they were taken by someone other then the subject, so it’s likely people just didn’t take pictures.
I would love to see the Fear Hole explored again, and next time by Rick, would be interesting if even Evil Morty's fear was explored through, then both Rick and Evil Morty break through whatever is the deal with that Fear Hole and discover the truth in a very comedic Rick & Morty way

Absolutely top tier finale. I enjoyed that is felt relatively "low stakes" but still drove home some major character bombshells at the same time. They really showed their range, and that they don't need to go out with a major blow out to have a great season ending, but major character driven moments that push the limits of what we view as the character.

Morty has lived so many full length lives that even if he gets *illed on one of his adventures with Rick it probably shouldn't even feel like much of a loss to him at this point, lol. He's at least 600 years old if you add all his 'lives' up lololol
"What is real? That is which is irreplaceable" How was Westworld not mentioned?
I think you mischaracterize Rick as a hero, anti- or not. Even the show's creators were shocked by peoples' reactions to him, that they didn't understand that he was supposed to be a villain, not someone to look up to.

Every rational person knows he's not a hero. Sadly, rational people are far and few between these days. Same thing has happened with Fight Club. Certain people see Durden as a male hero when that's the furthest thing from what he is. And did you watch the video? Dan says this in the video. If I had a nickel for every time a person says a thing that's said in the video and comment complaining about it not being said I'd be a wealthy man.

A section of the video made me think about Bojack Horseman. A KZreadr I watched did a video about how it was messed up that his half-sister didn't stand by him near the end of the series. The way he talked about it was strongly on Bojack's side almost saying "yeah he did bad things but he has a reason for being messed up". I just wonder if there's a way to write characters like that and make the viewer realize that the person deserves consequences or if it just depends on the viewer
@Wolftess

I’m not sure, but it seems like Bojack Horseman did almost everything a show could could do to make sure viewers realized by the last season that it’s protagonist needed to face consequences.

Some people don’t want to take accountability, so they don’t want to see characters they relate to take accountability either. That’ll happen no matter how much a author makes it clear because that’s how media interpretation works.

Hey there, Great video, But Actually the Hole was a reference to the Movie "The Hole" from Joe Dante where kid finds a hole and have to face their deepest fears.
I’m fairly convinced after the evil Morty episode that Rick C-137 was the first to actually invent portal travel but somehow messed up or missed an important detail and caused the death Rick Prime’s Diane. Leading him down a road to make all other Rick’s, especially 137, miserable. Likely just a nonsense fan theory but the “you could’ve walked into my garage before yours” hits me hard.
@ehsher7441

I think C-137 was the first for portal travel, accidentally fucked over Prime, and caused Prime to go on a psychotic rampage against himself.
It was a good season. Merry Christmas and happy new year.
I like the way you handled the Star Wars reference, quick to the point, moving on! 😂 another video went on and on for like probably three minutes about how great Star Wars is for some stupid reason. When they finally got back to Rick and Morty it didn't even have anything to do with Rick and Morty at all.
I haven't seen anyone talk about the sound design in this episode, I think it was the best.
Denny's need to install a hole in their bathrooms. Think it'd be popular 😂
There is room for heroes, anti heroes, and all kinds of characters. We just want good storytelling.
I like the voice actors for everyone!! Mortys sounds more sure of things if that makes sense 😅
Gland slam is top notch word play 👌

The hole looked like a gate in stranger things
Cinderella story. Out of nowhere. A former greenskeeper now about to become the Master's champion.
A Theory Rick did go into the hole, he conquered his fear first and came out to see Morty still stuck, but he didn't want to interfere and make Morty feel small. If Rick interfered it would have prevented Morty from conquering his fear, Rick would inadvertently interfere with Morty's insecurities. (It just makes sense, considering we followed his perspective too, and Rick's convenient excuse for not following in after him.) Also, why was Jerry able to notice the 'hole world' shaking when Morty ate the spider? Also, if Rick didn't face his fears that would be very upsetting, meaning he never moved on from Diane. It still weighs on his mind on what to do next, we all know Rick and Morty are becoming more independent, but what is there for Rick other than Morty? Rick either did or didn't have a developmental arc, which means he might have never moved on from Diane.
@coachleif
6 ай бұрын
Personally, I think it's better if Rick doesn't go in the hole, narratively, even though I do like this theory. This wasn't a Rick episode, it was a Morty episode, and the pay off is confirming a long held belief you should probably have about Rick. His reaction to Morty being in the hole is better than him conquering whatever his fear may have been, because narratively I think we all know he has a deep seated fear of outwardly loving his family... and he didn't need to go into the hole to face that, he faced it when he gave Morty credit for what he couldn't do.
@lightgiver428
6 ай бұрын
@@coachleif yes I agree completely. If he did go into the hole, that would remove a lot of narrative depth from Rick and his future development, also we touched on a very important glance of Rick's future story arc. Him NOT going into the hole has unforseen consequences. Morty has seen an explosive development as an character, and I think the writers are gearing us up for a change, maybe Rick and Morty will have less episodes together, being more independent as individuals while Rick still struggles with himself. I believe they will kill Rick in the end. It makes the most sense for the show. Rick not moving on from Diane... It scares me.
My theory is that the episode 'A Rickle in time', was how Morty learned not to fear that Rick would abandon him, and the entire episode happened in the hole.
A little too obsessive with replaying the clip of Morty jumping into the hole and saying "herp!"
Morty is the only character and his only fear is having to live through it.
Past fans and hates alike of the show can “lick, lick, lick my ball$”. Yes, the show had slipped a couple rungs. This season writing was top notch, new voices were spot on, and the finale was excellent. This season could have been the complete ending of this show, but they worked it out. Rick and Morty is back “a 100 years”
Oh metaphorical hole and literal one, makes sense.
This Rick and Morty Season 7 finale is an absolute rollercoaster of existential twists and character development! "Fear No Mort" dives deep into the psyche of our favorite duo, blending narrative intricacies with a meta-commentary on the show's evolution over its 10-year journey. Morty's leap into the fear hole becomes a symbolic breakthrough, challenging not just his fears but also our perceptions of happiness and the fleeting nature of joy. The episode cleverly parallels Rick's journey with themes reminiscent of other iconic series like Mad Men and BoJack Horseman, adding layers to the characters we thought we knew. The season's meticulous crafting and promise for the future make it a standout, and the anticipation for what comes next is palpable. Kudos to the Nerdus News team for this insightful breakdown! 🚀👽

Well there’s an existential concept, “have we always been in the hole?” You’ll always ask if we are in a simulation or real life or heaven or hell but maybe none of them and we can just chock it down as being inside the visual manifestation of fear of the unknown, a hole. Anyway I still need to watch the video 😂

The take away of alt-reality/simulations stories is that you're not suppose to care, or rather not suppose to change how you are as a person. If you're in real life and are a jerk, then you're really a jerk, if it's a simulation, you're just a jerk with an excuse.

Am I the only one who saw the folded picture of Morty and was like “ahh, the first escape was Rick’s fear, and Morty is still in the hole”? Morty stopped Rick at the end, saying “THAT’S GOOD” when he said “define irreplaceable?” Which means to me… Morty was still uncertain whether he defeated his fear and if they might still be in the hole… which means he’s still in the hole…. And of course the Rick in the hole is the Rick who would have a picture of him and choose him over Diane.
