I think Mick's "Called a few strikes of" is seriously one of the best lines on HIGNFY in recent memory. If a guest like that can't get challenged, then satire is done for... Mick has some problems, in that he's in favor of drowning this country in the brexit lie, but if people get cross because there were some jokes about him...? Seriously, get real. I wouldn'tve had Mick on with his weird Brexit sunk cost fallacy, but than again I wouldn't have praised BoJo and mirdered Corbyn. In other words: thanks HIGNFY. You've done great..

Very few, if any, episodes of deregulation have been successful. Taking away rules for corporations is seldom a good idea. It's just another way to takeover a business, make money by cutting more corners-laying off workers etc- then squeeze every dime out of it that can be had then get a (govt) bailout or a write-off for the losses. The wealthy business people get elected, take "donations" to make favorable laws & said donors (& themselves) get even more wealthy from those laws. Quid pro quo. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Perhaps a cynical view, but when you've seen it happen over and over its just the truth

Thanks.

It's hyphenated in Boston, the Smokey-Bacons.
Nice
The British seem to like nothing more than standing in a line and complaining about things, so this was perfect for them. I mean a line that went on for days and celebrities that both cut and didn't! Lol
WHAT are they talking about!? That meteor on a driveway was found in Britain. Of course it's got water on it. It got RAINED on Dinn'it! 😂 Or maybe the person who picked it up had just been wiping their tears about the economy... I'm still recovering about the anal beads story. That's... words fail. Love Richard 'Reddit' A.
What's the point of that globe when moss spinning the thing to one side and the cg went to the other side? XD
LOL at the Star Trek referance.. some geekism on display

When a man and a woman love each other very much...

He's spinning the globe the wrong way. The earth turns the other direction!
This episode was over too fast!
the globes for us, NOT YOU silly
Doesn't seem possible that BBC had a moratorium on comedy in a place like the UK. Mick Lynch should be a regular. He was just warming up.
What happened to roisin's face ?????
How come this show is longer than another post of this episode?
Wow
That last picture of Truss was baffling. How is that a normal human reaction to anything? What was she doing? I have so many questions and not enough words.
I hope Mick Lynch can be like Lula, the Brazilian president, they have similar roots leading in their unions and making the working class conscious about their power to change the system. Good luck for him!
Not enough Mick Lynch
22:33, '' the globe's not going to exist next week '' this show has a penchant for prophecy, let's hope Ian's comment doesn't just pertain to a collapsing media outlet and not the orb we're perched on see you next week?
Hahaha @33:30 when people totally missed the arrival of ML and rant as if they know what is going on. Deep blue.. 1996. Keep up. Your joke is 28 years too late. I can´t believe Richard let that one slide. He must know: "that is a very good point", well done, Richard.
Feels like they had booked Mick on before the queen died and assumed there would be fun banter and maybe a verbal fight and then the Queen died and everything they had thought to talk about got overshadowed by the funeral.

Or maybe it just wasn't consistently funny 🤔
they've jumped on Mick Lynch about trains the whole time, as if the trains were owned and operated by the workers, rather than by shareholders (reusing this comment from the upload of the regular bit-less version)

Non-comedian guests always get jumped on. Mick's a grown man who's dealt with far nastier people. Im sure he was ok.

they didn’t “jump” on him, and they certainly didn’t do it “the whole time”. there was probably a total of three jokes made about it and jokes were all they were. this is a show with comedians, so ofc jokes are gonna be made with guests

in my view, the value in satire is that it is based mostly on truth, and in cases like this where jokes are made using incorrect implicit premises that reinforce anti-union sentiment, i believe that to be harmful to the working class

Yes and he handled it really well. I liked how the audience seemed to be on his side too. Hislop backed off once he realized that.
