The chassis the engine and the obvious focus on real performance makes the Benelli the bike.

benelli hands down... it will run circles around a grom , just more power in general.

This was a magnificent review, and I applaud your virtuosity good sir. This was an expertly executed commentary, and it is evident to someone who did real research that you've done some homework. I'm considering a Benelli TNT 135 purchase. We have a very good well informed distributer in Cincinnati Ohio. Given all the videos online, you would think the 135 was a cheap Chinese knockoff, but it isn't. This is an actual Benelli, and is designed and engineered in Italy. It is then manufactured in bulk through QJ i.e. SSR. I'm strongly considering this little monster. It looks like Ducati street fighter on the front end and a MV Augusta at the tailpipe.

Honda Groms are made in Thailand. My Razkull clutch switch wire broke within a year. The horn wire broke too. The clutch was burning out by the end of the year. The engine oil was full of water at my first oil change. Why? It is suspected that because I was riding in freezing temperatures and even colder weather, that condensation formed in the engine. There is no other explanation. It was always kept indoors at home. It got 105-107 mpg. The top speed was just under 60 mph. It was comfortable and super fun in town. I didn't trust that it would last much longer. So I traded it in at the end of the warranty for a KYMCO Agility 125 scooter. It was quicker and had storage space under the seat. The gas mileage is much worse than the Razkull at 60-91 depending on speeds ridden for each tank.

Great video, lots of good info on the comparison. I've been looking at a lot of the From clones with the idea that if I'm going to mod it anyway, why not start with something inexpensive to purchase, then put the money into better upgrades.

These look like a blast. Can't wait for a binelli 300 shootout.

I bought one of the ssr clones in 50cc CVT and it runs great. 2700 miles on it and my only complaint is the lack of power uphill. Planning on buying the 150cc version in a few months.

Got a grom and everyone loves it

The Vader has no dampening components inside the fork just springs and some oil to keep things lubed. The front tire will skip in hard corners.

The best motorcycle video I've ever watched. Articulate! Informative! Entertaining! I've been thinking of changing my Honda Innova for a Benelli - mainly because the fuel tank on the Honda is so tiny and it has not been reliable. You provided some clarity. Thank you very much.

Actually, the Grom is made in Thailand, the Z125 is made in Indonesia. Nothing against China - the quality control seems to vary widely by the manufacturer. There are a ton of different names for the Boom Vader - IceBear, Taotao, etc., but all mostly still seem to be the same bike. The $1100-1500 range, but with some modest upgrades, they seem to be pretty solid bikes.

The grom sources parts from China and Taiwan, maybe that's what he meant, i don't know. Harley Davidson is officially on board with Q.J. now as well. You make a very good point though. So many Japanese and European bikes are sourcing parts from China and Taiwan these days though that you have to wonder if quality control has changed at all in China. You can still get garbage out of China, but with a little oversight they seem to be leading the pack these days. BMW, Kawasaki, Honda, Harley, and a host of others seem to be on board, because you can't beat the manufacturing cost- comparatively.

I like the idea of the 18hp engine in the SSR. Id like to have one as a toy. As for trying something Italian/Chinese bikes, im planning to purchase a 302S in 2022. I own a 150cc Honda WinnerX, but am bored of it now after 2 years (almost 3)

I've got a 2020 Vader... No metallurgy issues on mine. But for $1400 delivered, a good budget option. I've now got a zs190, fully adjustable Front forks, tons of other upgrades and parts replacement, still have less into it than the TNT costs. But all good options and good alternatives.

Originally I bought it thinking I course it to practice fundamentals in parking lots and to teach my son to ride on an easy, non-offensive bike... But now it's become one of my favorites to ride. Plus it's quicker than a "real" Grom with a takagawa bbk!

2022 benelli msrp $2999 75 mph top speed stock 2022 grom $3399 59 mph top speed stock. Benelli is assembled in China not a Chinese bike. How much more money does it take to make a grom go 75? Big bore kit (reliable one) $350, yoshimura exhaust $600 chimera intake $150 gear set $50 tuner for a/f ratio $250. And labor cost for install. Now we're talking $5000 +. Benelli sure sounds like a steal to me.

Yeah Scott iv heard 70 to 75 mph on the bennelli tnt 135 but its in fact false . I have a bone stock 2022 model and I can get 61 mph and thats it (im 180lbs). 70 may be attainable a little tuning and go up a tooth size on front sprocket but not the way she sits right now . Its a fun bike though!

We've got a GPS 68 on a broken-in TnT135 with a 4200 miles on it. The Stock Speedo was reading 76, so there's your speedo-error right there.

Are you already talking around $5000.00 for a Grom before leaving the dealership. I don't nor will ever go through a dealership because their bogus fees. I'd probably go to jail if did because the first time someone says, ' We Set Up The Bikes" I'd punch them in the face for lying. Open a create, put gas and oil is the extent of their "setup". Manufacturers build and test bikes before they ship 100% assembled. Manufacturers don't build bikes to exact specifications only to disassemble, ship, and trust Joe Shit The Ragman at the dealership is going to reassemble to their specifications then warrant the bike. If it's a hawk motorcycle then Joe Shit will have a little work to do.

Go for the 4v Daytona 190cc with the 212 kit 😁. I have the zongshen 190 2v with the 212 kit on a thump star

I don't know what year that Razkull is but I have a 2018 Razkull that I bought brand new with no miles on it and it came stock with a disc brake on the rear not a drum.

The Razkull was a 2019 and they're no longer carried by SSR.

How’s the vibration/buzzing in the handlebars? Would love a tnt but the long term quality is what keeps me hesitant You guys close to cleveland heights at all?

The vibration in the handlebars is the only thing I don't like about my tnt135. I'm going to put on foam grips and see if it helps.

We really love the Benelli TnT135 and we're doing a blow out special on them right now. We no longer carry the Razkull 125.

Would love to see an "Adventure bike" kit for the Benelli. Bigger tank, knobbies, aftermarket pipe.

I'm buying the 300 for next summer I have the 2021 TNT 135 for now

razkull is carbeurated... the rest are fuel injected. Could be a pro or con depending on if you have time for self maintenance

Carbs are as reliable as the amount of time spent riding them, ride every day and you won't have any issues, let the fuel sit for 10 months and now you need to pull it a part and mess with cleaning the gum out

Its not the frame size (or the engine size) that determines if its a "full size motorcycle" or not. It is the WHEEL SIZE that determines. CB is on 16" wheels and that makes it a full size motorcycle. GROM, TnT135, and Razkull are all on 12" wheels and thats why they are "mini". Never ever trust bullshit from a salesman.

The engine your talking about is not a bolt in unit in the case of the Grom and Razkull and the chassis on the horizontal engine bikes are not suited to handle the weight and power those engines. Cool video though!

No, the Benelli and the Razkull are from different manufacturers, they are just imported by the same distributor, SSR.

i had a tao tao hellcat and i 190 swapped it. great bike and cheap as shit. plastics are cheap but grom plastics fit it. any og grom part bolts right onto it. w the 190 it ripped for sure. i have a reall 22 grom now. i currently wanna do a 212 4v swap on it. the grom is hands down the more reliable higher quality bike out of the box. if you can turn a wrench though the hellcat can be damn near as good. simply swap honda parts onto it and do the engine transplant and youre beating everything. for less money too btw. im in erie pa so not too far from you guys. if your still around of course.

Are you sure the Benelli has 5" rear travel? I have read it only has 2"????

Benelli all day every day. Grom is ok but after 4000 miles the top end need’s rebuilt

The build quality of the Grom is so top , so Honda ....

Have a close look at the Grom next to a Benelli TnT135, I think you'll change your tune. We did.

Ducati mini fun bike. Sexy exhaust + water pipe skeleton. Better choice ! 😀😆🤣

I'll trade you my vintage HONDA MB5 (it has the luggage rack as well) for a new TNT135. The MB5 is a museum piece work of art. Looks like a mini-Ducati!

I loved the Mb5, it was a hoot when it came out, but, so much technology has become available those Mb5's and Magnum Mk2's all feel a little rickety by today's standards.

$700 less for the benelli to me is not enough to make me want to buy it over the Honda

Benelli wins! I love my 135, daily it to work. 65 top speed all stock, 155lb rider. Benelli has the better feel, better build quality.

This kind of frosts me...How in hell do you miss the rear disc on the Razzz? I mean it sitting there what, 4, maybe 5 feet from you? Blows your credibility to me, dude, Especially on a comparo 'review/analysis'...:(

The Grom is made in Thailand the Z125 are made in Indonesia and you are selling Razkulls and TNT's you just said in the beginning of the video don't trust people who a paid by the manufacturers haha I am also considering buying a TNT and have to decide now is it really better than the grom so really wanted to have an honest opinion about it but after you made the mistake of claiming that the Groms are made in China and Z125 are Chinese you lost me really and I am someone who wants to hear that the TNT is better :D It just looks like you are trying to sell your bikes so hard which is understandable you are a sales man but if you want to make an educational video for youtube first check your facts because otherwise you lose credibility and this could have been a great video without the hidden marketing in it. I have ridden both Grom and TNT unfortunately within a 4-5 months distance between each other so I can't really say which one felt faster but for sure the TNT felt extremely stable it gave me a lot more confidence to lean in corners and it just felt a lot more like a bigger motorcycle also the stock exhaust is no comparison to the Grom you get deep and much louder sound from the Benelli but I also found myself rev limiting it all the time due to the different sound of it because it sounds so deep it feels like you haven't reached high revs even tho you are on 10k but I would love to see a real comparison and a drag race between fully stock grom and stock tnt if you have both bikes please make a real video and be more honest next time don't try to sell your products because the whole video comes up quite fake and made up, thank you for your video anyway :)

Yeah, the Grom is Thai - The Z125 in the US market comes from Indonesia, do a quick search of KZread, there are more than a handful of drag-race videos showing the TnT135 is a quicker, and a faster bike. I'm not paid by the manufacture, I also sell Groms and Z125's.

Didnt know ssr razkull is the other name for gpx deamon 125 and ktns rhino 125

Chinese vs. Japanese parts and assembly? I go Japanese every time. No question. Always better quality. Always better design. Always better performance.

As much as I like the mini Ducati look of the ssr hands down the Binelli wins

I did, and I rode it. I wish it had more power. The front brake / fork bottoms out too easily under 200lb. adults and bigger kids. I don't think it has the power to actually pull that 6th gear. I was unable to get the 6th gear to hold the bike at 55 mph. As soon as I would go into 6th, I'd start losing speed on anything but a perfectly flat road.

yeah man I purchased a tao tao hellcat 125cc. from motobuys. and they sold me junk the bike hasn't moved. I've went thru it and replaced a bunch of stuff on my own dime. and have received no help from motobuys. and I purchased their extra warranty. I would watch tao tao. this was my first bike purchased and it has almost killed it for me.

Steve had the TaoTao and had to put about $1500 worth of work / parts into it to make it better, but still about 15 mph slower than his TnT135. We've had a pretty rotten experience with TAO TAO.

I’m sorry to state the obvious, but Sir you did said that the TNT Benelli is a 135cc motorcycle and the Honda Grom is a 125cc motorcycle, why wouldn’t the Benelli be the faster bike when it has 10 more cc. Now are you comparing these two bikes based on the actual size or the price point. I own a 2022 Honda Grom which I love, however I do feel like the bike was over priced for what it is. Why are you comparing the Grom against these two bikes and not the z125 oh yeah it was because you didn’t have one available but I don’t see a Grom in video anywhere either 😂😂😂

The Lifan kp mini 150 will dust all of these, AND, if you really need MOR POWA!!!, the zong 239 motor is almost a straight shoe in, Their 190 IS a shoe in so pick your poison.

@@ShedPowersports The CRF style, upright, its somewhere between 190 and 200 if I remember right, and there are even overbore kits for around 212, and a bit more. Lifan itself even has a 200 4valve version that should fit with a little 'massaging' if you REALLY want to go racing. Keep track of the speed ratings of your tires tho...will probably need to upgrade there as well, specially as you start approaching 90mph. BE CAREFUL if you're gunning for top speed. Additional cooling is going to be a priority AND, You'll likely need to change geometry of the frame to avoid a really vicious 'death wobble' which is called that for a reason!.
