Hatching Pigeon Eggs that were Not Supposed to Be

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Pigeon eggs? Could I incubate those? Baby pigeons are so fragile.
I had to remove a nest. Two pigeon sisters had build it. Against all odds, two of their eggs contained life. I gave them a chance in my incubator. They turned out to be ugly... but so sweet.
It was a wonderful adventure to raise those pigeons and find them to be so much at ease with me. For those of you wondering... the food I gave them is made to mimic the crop 'milk' that pigeons produse to raise their chicks. The one I used is called Nutribird A21 (not sponsored)
I'm so lucky to be able to dedicate myself in taking care of these helpless creatures and sharing this with the world because of the help of our loving community.

We have two beautiful doves in our neighborhood that have tried year after year to make a successful nest, but it never seems to work out. I watch them roam together, and pick up dried grass and all kinds of things, but it’s never strong enough. Well this year, they finally had two beautiful babies! It’s been so wonderful to see them snuggle up, and playing together, while roaming with the parents! It was pretty much a celebration for the neighbors on our st, because we just love them, and have all been rooting for them to have those babies! ♥️

I have a hanging plant thats mounted just under the overhang in my back yard that doves started nesting in and they came back 2 years and laid eggs 6 times a year until the end of last year a hawk got one. This year a new nest is being built in the basket. I haven't watered the plant all this time either cause I don't want to disturb the nest and it keeps growing back each year. They also tried building nests everywhere and they always blew down until they found my hanging basket. The soil is almost 2 inches below the rim of the basket and it's lined with coconut fiber so nothing can fall out easily. When they started using their wings and couldn't get back into the nest, I'd leave my laundry room door open and they would hide out in there until I came to put them back in the nest. Hanging stuff up for them to build a nest in might be worth considering.

I don’t honestly care what a lot of people think about pigeons. Like chickens, they are often look down upon as some random bird, it’s either there all the time as a convenience or it’s a nuisance to many, but in reality these two species are so smart, amazing and absolutely so affectionate it’s down right sweet. I love that with Alwyn, that every life matters, there is no black or white and that there is an understanding between him and all of gods creatures. Just humbled each time I watch one of his videos.

🆘 Hi, I'm in the same dilemma. Our gardener trimmed/cut the tree in my garden and two eggs were in the nest. Obviously the mother pigeon didn't return. I don't know what to do. Any advice will do. At moment I have the nest on top of a warm water bottle in the house. I'm not quite sure how I will feed it if it hatches, but I've seen on ebay feed for parrots (Hari Tropican Hand Feeding Formula Baby Parrot Bird Food Daily Nutrition Growth). Will this be ok?

I saved a Robin when he had just hatched and fell out of his families nest, as life was beginning. Seven was amazing and became a real cuddle bug, he slept on my shoulder and lap from just a newborn. Seven would sit on my shoulder and the guitar neck as I played guitar, fly bk and forth from my boyfriends shoulder to mine. Seven grew to be beefy, healthy and amazing to talk to. Before Seven, I was squirmy and not going near a worm, but quickly that fear left in preparing his adult dinners. It is amazing how you'll do anything to save and flourish a life. Today, I found a Pigeon egg on the ground, this is how I came across your amazing video :) The egg looks freshly cracked, I brought her inside and put her in a shoe box, in a blanket & towel, under a 40 watt bulb. I believe she looks as if she has passed onto Heaven, no mevement...still...it is an amazing experience having her here with me to pray over her as I feel her Spirit near as she says goodbye to Earth and hello to Heaven!!! Amen and God Bless you and your amazing pets :) +++++++

I've rescued and I'm currently raising up to release a squab that fell or was kicked out of the nest at the coach station I use to travel home from university. Nobody else would help him because "It's just a pigeon". Even animal rescue charities that deal with wildlife. I can't take him to my vet or else I won't know where he'll be taken, but I'm hoping to release him somewhere nice if he still has a chance of looking after himself. I know of a beach town where the pigeons are very tame with people already and it's only a short train ride away from where I live so I'm gunning for that place being his new home once he's self reliant.

@@zicokanoo5383 Hey! I'm not a pro whatsoever, but if this situation was happening to me, i would to the following: a) verify if the eggs actually contain life. b) if that's the case...do my best to incubate them, but you should know that without proper equipment that's no easy task... I'd probably buy a heat pad/blanket/light and control the temperature. c) if they hatch... feed them formula every 3 hours or so and keep them safe and warm until they are strong enough. But know this: the odds are against you... Don't be too desappointed if they don't hatch... GOOD LUCK!!

Pigeons were used and trained by humans for thousands of years until the world wars as messenger pigeons and pets, they did so much for the human race But later when humans don't needed them anymore, they just abandoned those birds like stray dogs/cats Now many of them can't live on their own like other wild birds, they need the help of humans to survive Our neighbouring city built a house for them to that they can make their nests and spills rice in some places to get sure that they have enough food They deserve to life like our own pets at home

I did a similar thing with my first pigeon Dodo, incubating, hatching, and raising him. I didn't raise him to the same success - he had a few health issues causing him to be slower and skinnier than other homing pigeons ultimately resulting in him getting caught by a hawk at 6 months old. But he was my buddy and went everywhere with me (except school). Pigeons have such big personalities, Dodo would bite me and my family for fun since he wasn't interested in toys. I now have two more homing pigeons (raised by their parents), brother Philia and his sister Hidone. They're always getting into trouble and making messes! Thank you for sharing this, it's really interesting to see other people raising pigeons like this!

I gave her a bit of water, kept it on a semi dark room to make her calm and now I have her sleeping on a cage I had for my gerbils (don't blame me, I have nothing better and weather here is terribly hot so I discarded the cardboard box option)... Nothing seems to be broken and looks healthy so tomorrow I'll feed her a bit a give some time to rest and release her maybe next week or so (thanks to this video I also know she must be around a month old!) I am having a very bad day, one of those days that it seems like nothing matters, nothing is important, everything is pointless... then I saw you had a video up. And I didn't get any of those feelings about what you do. You deserve all the best in this world. Thank you for being so kind, so generous with your efforts and time, to help these animals and make our world a kinder, better place. Thank you. I needed this today.

Thank you for sharing this amazing video with us. I can relate it with my life. When I was a kid my parents brought some baby pegions to make pegion soup. I saved there lives by requesting my parents not to eat them. I raised them by feeding crashed seeds, wheat and rice soaked in water. They grew up nicely. I taught them how to fly without having any kinda experience. I set them free. It was definitely one of my sweet memories.
