I often ask myself "what is Eurovision missing?" All of my answers were wrong: Eurovision has been missing BDSM electro/metal and I am glad to have been shown the light.

I think the best thing about people's reaction to this song are the ones who go 'oh I usually don't listen to this kind of music but I really like this'. I think that must be the kind of musical achievement musicians should be aiming for, being able to reach across borders. It's the thing Lordi did, and Salvador. I believe it bodes well :)

Salvador’s song isn’t the type what would normally be popular. It’s nowhere near your average ballad on the radio, just like Lordi’s song isn’t like the average rock or metal song on the radio. I get what you mean but the average pop ballad is not what salvador’s song is and I wouldn’t say it’s the commercial type either.

This song, as you've said, is not meant to be commercial, yet it goes beyond what it is anyway - again, which is pretty amazing.

@Edna Mode - no, actually, most countries have their selections with songs written and performed in English or whatever language they are planned to be performed in the ESC. In Iceland, on the other hand, all the songs are *required* to be performed in Icelandic in the national selection, but normally they do an English version in the ESC. That is quite different. I know the Olsen Brothers changed their 2000 winning entry into English, and a few other countries have, too, in the early days of English being allowed again by any country, but it's only Iceland that does it like that as a matter of course.

incorrect, the songs are not required to be performed in icelandic in the national selection, however if a song wins the national selection it must be performed in the same language during ESC, so if they perform in icelandic they cant change to english and vice versa @@hakonsoreide

​@@dgenerationx5855 I feel the same about the UK (and most European countries now). Every song, each year, is boring, vanilla, uninspired, conventional, no edge and generic. It's all about happy clappy peace and love etc. I'm not the most avid fan of rock. It's hit and miss for me. However, this song by Hatari has been my favourite of the competition. Its visuals, vocals etc really convey a message that, even though I don't understand Icelandic, I understand the message it's showing . It takes real artwork to convey a message to people in a language that they don't understand. If art is good it will transcend barriers and Hatari have managed to do that. Really hope this song wins.

This has to be one of the most memorable ESC songs ever.

Adman Holmo along with portugal’s entry it is probably the most polarising song in the competition- compared to the rest of the songs this one is loved for being the opposite of what we usually see at Eurovision - so to me it is a dark horse

A "dark horse" is an act that no one predicts to do well and which isn't that liked in the eurovision community but in the end however does still well (see Belgium 2016 or Serbia 2015) Iceland is a fan fav and is in the Top 10 of the odds so no dark horse at all here and that's a fact and no opinion

Arthur Curry they will have to utilize a second airport and perhaps provide shuttles between cities. They will also have to perhaps build a new venue of some sort and build a few hotels. Other than that, if Iceland is really determined , they can do it

But if we think about it for a bit. It would cost a lot to build a new place to be able to host Eurovision because there is no big enough place to host it here so where would the money come from and where would all the tourist go to stay for the event

This is one of the most unique songs in the last decade of Eurovision. It will get a lot of attention and i hope they will win.

At first I was like huh? ahahahahah what is this. Then I heard it here on KZread..... I´ve heard it 50+ times now, I guess. I don´t count it anymore LUL have you heard the other songs from Hatari? My god they´re so amazing. They are coming to Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Where I live. Tickets are expensive, so I am not coming :((((( Could have been a blast.
