Amazing that Wee-bey was only out of prison in season 1, yet he was integral to the story line from season 1 - 4. His character arc was also realistic, from the great out-going soldier to sobering up somewhat and being a good Dad from prison.

I've watched The Wire probably about 10 times. So many great characters. So many great character arcs

This interviewer is phenomenal. Kept a good flow, switched up the approach seamlessly once he heard Hassan mention how much he loves Breaking Bad, and made it feel like a natural engaging conversation. Mad props to him.

But if I crossed paths with guys like Wee Bay, Marlo, Barksdale, of any of the characters, I wouldn't give 2 seconds of my life to deal with them. I stayed away from guys like this back in the day.

I met this brother years ago at a Lorenz Tate charity event. He's probably the most down to earth cat I've ever encountered. Very cool brother.

Hassan is so likable here. The wire is the best show of all time no doubt but Wee bay's scene with Delonda where he tells her she needs to let Namond go to Colvin is easily one of my favorites in the entire show. I just hope Hassan knows how much that character meant to all of us. Also he has one of the most popular GIFs on the internet and no one can take that away from him haha

Hassan is a classic in the black film community among us real fan. He's a mainstay along the likes of Nia Long, Larenz Tate or Mekhi Phifer or the classy Loretta Devine. They bring it to every role regardless of screentime.

Hassan was great in "Belly"...Liked the scene where DMX said that his feelings was hurt on the balcony and Hassan looked at Nas and quitely said , "is he serious" lmaooo

He is this kind of actors with a role which will stick to him forever. God how much I loved Wee-Bey ...

One of the best character arcs in the Wire. When he told his missus that his son has a chance to be different and be successful in a different way to them, it was one of the greatest moments of the show.

Hassan should be world famous. This guys delivery is just funny and captivating.

He still look the same glad to see people we grew up watching looking good and doing good please put him in more movies

Not only was he a great character that meme of weebay being confused will last forever

So many great black actors broke out late 90s early 2000s. Very great generation of fine actors

I have to say, with all due respect to Hassan, and I mean this completely as a compliment- as a performer he executed his role so well that it's surprising to me to see that he's walking free and not in jail for the rest of his life (because I only know him from The Wire).

Man I’m taking my kids to Baltimore this week to the harbor and aquarium, I learned as a younger man you keep your ass in that inner harbor, balmer is a rough ass town

Cool ass brother, I remember he used to get his haircut at the same barber shop as me in jersey city this was when the Wire was on tv... he was just chill like any other reg dude in the shop.

Man this guy played one of the most believable old-school black gangsters to ever take to the screen. Layed back and somehow still absolutely terrifying.. I feel like they tried to replace him with Chris but it just wasnt the same man..

Great interviewer, and Hassan just seems so authentic and energetic. Can't imagine him in a bad mood. I love how you can tell that Wee-Beys mannerisms and the way he talked, Hassasn was just being himself. Theres a swagger about him. That just makes you smile.

2:12 That’s a really good point. One of few weaknesses of Snowfall in my opinion is how beautiful it’s shot. It feels less authentic

Salutes to Hassan Johnson, great actor and human being. His energy is grounded in intellect & vision; the point he made about The Wire not being in HD is revealing. He's excellent as the paternal thug who cares for his niece but is extorting the lead in Flatbush Misdemeanors. Great comedic timing.

Agree . One of my pet peeves is how interviewers are constantly interrupting the person being interviewed to look smart . The worst is when they ask a good question and then cut the guy off to say some stupid sh*t and you never hear the answer .

One of the coldest characters on the show. His pet fish and his talks with Colvin softened his image, but up until that he was terrifying.

You all must have forgotten about "Oz"!
