Hashimoto's Diet Myths DEBUNKED - What you Should & Shouldn't Eat

Are you falling for any of these Hashimoto's diet myths? Find out more about what foods you should and shouldn't be eating if you have Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
You probably already know that Hashimoto's can be managed or at least improved by changing or altering your diet, right?
Well, if you didn't then allow me to be the first to tell you - changing your diet is a sure-fire way to either worsen or improve your condition.
And many people know this. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to "know" things that may not be true. This has lead to some common myths that are propagated by Hashimoto's patients on various forums and on the internet.
As someone who has treated people with Hashimoto's using diet and other therapies, allow me to debunk some of these myths.
If you have Hashimoto's then you owe it to yourself to understand these things because you CAN impact your disease and potentially treat and reverse your condition with the right information.

Just starting. My docs never talked about diet for 5 years and I'm sure I've had Hashimotos since late high school. I cut out gluten 3 weeks ago and I don't have anger/anxiety issues! My husband said he feels like he has the old me back! Found a functional medicine physician and were going to continue on excluding/including over the next year. Thanks for the videos!

I feel alot better after being on this diet, the only problem that is left is my hair loss :/

As someone who has struggled with eating disorders in the past, finding the right diet for my autoimmune diseases is tough. Any time I have tried AIP, it's too restrictive and puts me back into a binge cycle. Do you have any suggestions for those who are struggling with autoimmune disease and need to take care of not being triggered into an eating disorder relapse? Thanks!

Hugs to you!, amazing question!! I’m very autoimmune with multiple autoimmune disabilities, plus hypothyroid. If I eat things like grains, starchy stuff, high sugary junk, nightshades, it really does flare my autoimmune stuff, so I have to be strict. But I have had severe bulimia in the past too. But for me the bulimia has nothing to do with weight or body image, it was to do with trauma and stress, and a bizarre side effect from Methotrexate, which used to retard my focus part of my brain, and make me want to binge to stimulate dopamine. Also the bulimia would make me gain weight and bad fore my liver, kidneys, thyroid, everything!! I finally had proper eating disorder therapy for this, and the psychologist understood about my autoimmune difficulty. Had to completely refocus everything to be a total health freak to achieve harmony for the autoimmune. Like how an alcoholic can’t have a little sip, I can’t have a little of junk, as it stimulates a brain explosion like addition. The mind and the neurobiochemistry of how sugar and junk effects my brain. Power of the mind.
