Hasan's confidence gave Suraj's anxiety some long lasting trauma
@TheMightyAgency

Yeah but he's all packaging and nothing inside. Hasan gave him so many opportunities to shine but he was just too worry about his self image. That's just an perfect example of someone being too self-aware.
@Lucky-zi2dg
2 жыл бұрын
@@TheMightyAgency that's the definition of anxiety. Being hyper self aware, jumbling up your lines, overthinking and hence pausing for too long. That compiled with a few cues like his occasional leg shaking, chin rubbing, neck tilting, almost aggressive nodding, etc. Hasan's confidence was just too intimidating for the poor fella

I would say that this young man was self-conscience in his anxiety…but not self-aware.

Just to clarify if Suraj does stumble up to this comment, we see you. You were anxious but you were much better than me and many others. I could see you were used to your stage fright and were using a few techniques and that's great. The main thing is it was all in good fun and you did NOT make a fool of yourself no matter what anyone says. Keep it up and stay strong 🥂
Hasan: “insightful commentary on the structure of political comedy” Suraj: “That’s interesting….moving on” HAD ME 😂😂😂

Thank you so much Hasan for deconstructing the writing process. Very helpful thank you. Very generous of you to share.
Hasan showed both of the moderators such respect in different ways. He was dialed in with the young woman. It was wonderful how he connected with her, learned her sibling’s name and then used it later in the interview. Hasan made it as much about her as it was about him. For the young man who was clearly nervous, Hasan treated him as a friend. Roasting him, yes, but that is what a friend would do. It is a joy to see such wonderful people skills.
I really like how he’s giving attention to both interviewer’s no matter who’s asking the question. Love to see Hasan speak with passion

as a person who can relate to the overly self-aware and anxiety that suraj is radiating through my screen, i gotta say its probably hard af to sit through a show where a famous comedian/your idol is sitting on stage and bagging on you. not only that, but its also posted online for everyone else to see and comment on!! so suraj, if you see this, just know you did great and i personally thought you were very endearing :) don't beat yourself up about it, and know that its not easy to interview someone off the cuff but you did the best you could

100%. I know that many will roast him, but all of those people wouldn't even know how to begin interviewing someone in front of hundreds. Suraj did a great job.
Dang, I loved the Suraj guy! Talk about holding your composure in front of a famous comedian. Suraj could have been anyone over there. In these situations when you are out of your comfort zone facing an audience and a really smart ass comedian, people tend to become 'someone else' to suit the audience and be 'cool'. But Suraj held his composure in such a sweet way. More power to you bro, from a fellow brown kid🙂🙂
The girl host killed it! Questions were so spot on. Suraj - you are the 🐐 for stepping up to the plate and being a good sport about it all. As always, Hasan is such an effortless entertainer. Tyler - Loved this video! The edits were *chefs kiss* 🤌🏽

Also as a comedian myself when he said to be a good comedian you have to be Fd up and his explanation is so true for us new comics. It's easier to talk about the WHY of us being fucked up is great. Because anyone can be a comedian, because we're all messed up, but to be so Fd up you say what you want to whomever is courage to get past it. Hasan is a comic not because he is funny, but because he is genuinely honest about himself and has the confidence that others around him will get it. He explained it perfectly.
His answer to the last question is the absolute best. Being Southeast Asian, his ideology towards bringing up his children was just amazing as compared to those of my parents' generation.
The man was SO nervous. I would be the same.
Amazing.. Keep the deep cuts coming.. They are really fun 🔥
Pooja is who I want to be. Suraj is actually who I really am. For real tho, Hasan, thank you so much for putting out these videos. I look forward to your new content. Also, the way you talked about Beena? We now need a romcom of that. Let's get on it!

I watched this event at the IU Auditorium along with my roommates, it was so hilarious all the way through! Though there were some awkward moments since the hosts clearly weren't prepared for someone like Hasan Minaj but instead someone more like Anderson Cooper. We all loved how he messed with them because it made the Q&A a lot more interesting! It seems Suraj agreed at the end there.

From our point of view (edited), all the cuts took place in the conversations between Hasan and Suraj so I can only speculated that Suraj was the weakest link. On the flip side, you can tell Hasan really appreciated the type of questions he got from the lady.

That said, I think it is important to note that we should pull up anyone who is below us socially (with less societal power) and we o ley get to punch down everyone who is above (like world leaders). Doing the opposite does not bring about positive change nor does it bring equilibrium to the balance.
