yes, just talked with my buddy yesterday about how many of their correspondents now got their own big carreers: Steve Carell, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, Ed Helms, Jason Jones, Trevor Noah and now Hasan. I guess it's safe to say the people at The Daily Show enjoyed good comedic stewartship.

Agreed. I have grown to love this show, still miss the old Colbert show though, but if there's one thing they could improve on it would be the way the guests are interviewed. It feels a little rushed at times, maybe it's up to the guest to be forceful like that lady last night hehe I mean on last night's show. Or maybe they could have a countdown clock in the guest's line of sight so they know exactly how long they have and when they need to speed up or slow down. Craig Ferguson on The Late, Late Show was a master at interview pacing imo.

Marcela n_n it's on a TV schedule, so about less than 10 minutes each interview, and it absolutely CAN'T go over 10 minutes (because it throws off the ads in commercial break), so they usually make the interview short to be safer.

They don't do it live though. Could put extended interviews online like the daily show does and just edit it down for the broadcast. It's an issue of studio time or labor, if anything.

Hasan was sharing so many interesting events and he kept getting cut short. I wanted to hear rest of what he had to say. this interview feels too short and he was trying to cut him off not telling hasan finish saying what he started.

For those who haven't seen it yet, his Netflix special is amazing. It made me want to laugh and cry at the same time, especially since I could relate a lot to what he was talking about as a South Asian immigrant growing up in this country

They need a few colored people so we won't call them racist, duh! It's like having only one black friend, and whenever someone calls you a racist, you happily refer to them. Donald Trump, "Look at my African American over here." A normal person would not say such a thing.

His special on Netflix is great and it's an emotional rollercoaster. One minute I was laughing and the next I was sobbing. Yes I'm a big sap but I just got so into it.

Hasan is literally never boring. I haven't seen every interview of him, or all his work, but in everything I _have_ seen, he's just consistently charismatic, funny, and entertaining. What a guy.

He forgot Mahershala Ali, but it's a really good observation tbh

Possibly no mention because Mahershala Ali is an Ahmadi Muslim, which is generally considered heretical by the rest of Muslims. Abdus Salam who is widely thought to be the first Muslim physics Nobel laureate was also an Ahmadi Muslim (note Mahershala Ali is widely thought to be the first Muslim Oscar winner), and after Salam's death and burial the word 'Muslim' was erased from his gravestone by the Pakistani government who under their law consider Ahmadis as non-Muslim.

Nicki's father is from carribean with Indian ancestry as britishers shipped Indians as slaves to work in carribean in plantations. While Hasan's parents are from mainland India and hasan was born in USA.

I never knew a Bethany Reed and I didn't recognize the name of the guy she ended up taking to prom, but there is a similarly good chance I walked past them in a sonder like moment. My house mate my senior year was a second year polisci major when Hasan was a freshman so my roommate may have had a class with Hasan.
