M6 wifi was actually jammed with a jammer. The stalkers was able to use my router. I unplugged my router. She drove off. I'm sick of these teenage and college kids.

Not that I am aware of. Apple really locks things down so limited functionality and control.

1. - If an ISP provided you with the router or a combo set (such as router & WAN box), you dont need to update firmware as the ISP do this already. Also some of the ISP's do not allow you to update their routers firmware if its not a personally purchased router. Also if you have a personal router the ISP will mark your acct saying so. So other employee's of the ISP company know that you are not running an official ISP provided router but a personal one. Which means most times they will not give you support or just give you very basic support, because its not the ISP officially supplied router when you signed up for their service. The provided router which the ISP official router maintains and update automatically. If you supply your own router you will be responsible for anything that happens on the network not the ISP. Also some ISP's do not allow personal purchased routers, not all but some do not allow it for obvious reasons. These are things you have to be aware of, because it can result in violation of the TOS ("Terms Of Service") and you can either get a warning for 1st offense & even completely banned. I personally have experienced this 3 times so far, this is why I mentioned this.

Although time consuming I list all my devices and mac addresses. The two columns are entered on Excel type documents so that either column can be clicked for numerical or alphabetical order. Makes it easier if your router only lists mac addresses of clients.

I think somebody came in and hacked my Wi-Fi! all other devices connect, but my PC it's a Wi-Fi only PC and it cannot connect to a network. Nor does it show our network. It says plug ethernet...we don't use ethernet on it..HELP!!!🙏

You forgot to mention how important it is to use a long and random WPA2. Almost all routers that I have seen use an extremely short, usually digit-only, password.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network management protocol used to automate the process of configuring devices on IP networks, thus allowing them to use network services such as DNS, NTP, and any communication protocol based on UDP or TCP. Do not mess with this as ISP's use this for your router to assign its IP. If you do not know the in's and out's of networking and you do not have a dedicated DHCP server in your home, do not tamper with this as it will cause more headaches than you want.

How do you do step 4?

I thought somebody hacked my WiFi because two new WiFi names I had never seen before popped up. Some got deleted and there are not that many now but I clicked a link and SO MANY unknown WiFi networks just looked like they were using my WiFi.

Someone helped me set up the router and kinder has the login details, however now the issues is that I can't login to the router it seems as though the login details have been changed please help on how do I get the access to the router so I can change the logins

what you can do is reset it back to factory defaults. When you do, it will delete everything and you set it up from scratch again.

reset your router to factor defaults and start again with a very strong password or get a new router that they have never had access to before. Make sure you run full anti virus/ malware checks on every device including cell phones and tablets.

My network name suddenly got changed and it got changed to open it was secure before so anyone can just join my network I know it’s mine because when I close my router it also closes when I open it it also opens idk if it’s hacked the name got changed into the orginal name of the company

You need to login to your router admin online- the IP address is usually something like 192.168.1- you will find this info. from your router/ wifi provider.

I recently found out that someone connected an additional router to my internet connection. This was discovered by my ISP, because I was having trouble connecting a new security device. I was surprised when the rep told me about the router, because it didn’t show up on the “connected” devices list on my end, but the rep could see it. They disabled I, but I noticed that my internet is lagging again. Can people who steal WIFI hide or mask their devices, if so, is there a way for me to prevent this?

Wow there were 12 trackers all associated with Google what the heck one way or another all of them!

Because we live in a rural area we are limited to satellite internet which is very expensive. We are not very tech savvy, but I can read. However our 26 year old son who still lives at home is. It seems that we are NEVER able to connect to the internet at home. We can at the shop which is all on the same property. But at home we can never connect. So we are forced to use our data on our cell phones. I called the ISP to come and see what the problem was and what they found was that our son was "hard wiring" the internet signal straight to his room and by-passing the router somehow by using a device that uses the electrical outlets to transmit the signal or something. This left us with only 2-4Mgs to share between the other 3 of us while he got the rest to play his games. This went all over me and his little network got disconnected. When he came and questioned me as to why all his stuff was disconnected. I confronted him about what we found out about his setup, he became very defensive and told me to never ask for his help with any technical issues again that I could just call that guy. On the bright side, our internet connection seemed to improve, for a few days anyway. Until something called a Wi-fi pineapple showed up now it seems were back to having the same problems again. My question is this... Is it possible that he is using the "pineapple" as yet another underhanded way to hog the internet signal without being detected.

hide the wifi ssid name .. it will dissappear from your scan unless you type and put the correct ssid name plus the password ...
