    This SmackDown sucked! The draft was garbage. A few minutes into the show and you'll know everything you should and shouldn't expect from the "HHH Era" of WWE. My all excitement for the product during the road to mania, however forced that was, is now gone. To think there are real people that actually think HHH is some kind of creative genius 😂

    the booking for storylines and matches is better. But things like the draft have always been not that good. There is only so much you could ever do with it. Move champions around. Its been over done. ultimately they should drop the draft and just have the gms trade people when they need or want to move someone to the other show. They have been doing drafts since 2002 and the format is over done to the point there is nothing they can do that hasnt already been done 3 times before at least.

    @@alexpolanco7885 i made that comment late into the night. Always was not the word i meant to use. What i was meaning to say was that it is tired now. The first few years of it 2002 - like 2007 were all fine. After that it varied from ok to meh. But now its a tired gimmick because they have done about everything you can do with a draft format and would just be recycling past used storylines. Only thing they could do new is shorten it and make it just for nxt call ups and main roster talent trades.

    Yuvraj Singh (fka Jinder Mahal) could EASILY debut in AEW and begin a program that has him joining Jarrett's goofy stable...only to be the reason that they break up, with Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal going their separate ways after Yuvraj uses Satnam to destroy Jarrett...while Yuvraj Singh becomes the new heel leader of the stable, alongside Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt...and this would allow Jeff Jarrett to potentially step away before returning as the General Manager of Dynamite or Collision...as well as allowing Jay Lethal to fly solo and become a proper contender for singles gold. It could also be a good revenge/revival storyline if Jay Lethal began a program with Yuvraj Singh and finally turned baby face. I'd love to see him remind everyone how good of a promo he is and maybe do some storytelling meanwhile to help legitimize his lengthy career as a former world champion while putting over how great that Yuvraj is (sticking it to WWE for being dumb enough to let him go).

    Most Indians that watch wrestling don't care about Jinder. He's nowhere near Khali in terms of being over with Indian audience. The ridiculously high viewership for WWE here in India doesn't translate to the business aspect like it does in the US. The TV deal in WWE's case here works very differently than in America. People here aren't going to spend money on things like WWE network, their expensive merchandise and all that. The "high viewership" thing is a myth. Having said that, Jinder was just unfortunate. He could've been an awesome heel without the stereotypical foreign character. But I guess perhaps the WWE management in the "HHH Era" are more in love with the Garganos, the Ricochets and the McDonaghs than potential larger than life characters.

    It’s incredibly hard for foreign-born wrestlers to get over in WWE. Most American cities just chant “USA” at these guys when they’re busting their ass in the ring. WWE tried to push jinder Ali Veer etc but its hard to get the American audience to invest or buy merch of people with Hindu/Muslim sounding names. Even guys like Gunther or Rusev (previously) have struggled to get over despite being highly successful champions.

    lol. ok. If Jinder was such a star, then why did literally everyone lol when he won the wwe title. Because he was a jobber one week and next week won the title because vince suddenly decided he wanted ratings to increase in india. They didn't. So AJ won the title from him after a few months. Jinder never truly got over. He was just kinda there. As for the comment about looking like stars. lol look at AEW's roster before making such a comment. majority of wrestlers are not steroided jacked guys anymore.

    @@zeromagnum2811that’s the problem with WWE, Jinder was a jobber for his whole career up to that point, and doing comedy skits with 3MB. One day he returns after being fired the first time and a few weeks later he is World Champion, without any story or buildup, people weren’t going to buy that. I blame booking on his championship run. The guy if booked right could be a big deal, and the way they booked Gunther has proven that.

  • @zeromagnum2811

    @zeromagnum2811

    Ай бұрын

    @@randomkillerx2157 i would agree that he could have been. But Vince did that back then and it killed any chance for him to be taken as anything but the jobber vince hot shit pushed to the title to try and pop numbers in india. And didn't. To prove the point when they booked Jinder to face Rollins for the title even Tony Khan the nerd mark bashed and took shots at Jinder on twitter making a joke of him being in Raw's main event for the title. There was no way to undo the perception of his character in WWE. They tried to get him over in NXT by sending him there with Veer and Sanga. and they tried to restart him a few times on Raw and SD and every time it didnt work. Vince's booking killed him from any chance of getting over and being taken seriously. He would have to leave WWE get over with a different gimmick and go back to ever be anything there because of Vince. Gunther got lucky that by the time he was in a run vince immediately lost power. Because right before Vince lost power gunther's ic title reign was going to end weeks after it began to Nakamura because Vince was gonna bury Gunther for being a NXT HHH guy. Just like he did most of the called up NXT talent over the years. But prior to Summerslam 2022 HHH took over and Gunther retained and held it until mania 40. If Vince wanted someone over he would try to get them over. But he was petty and would bury anyone at a whim. I watched long enough to be able to read when he was burying someone or not. Vince tried tp push Jinder but he did it in a way that made the crowd dislike him for the wrong reasons just like he made them hate Roman for being the chosen corporate guy. Roman recovered from it by coming up with his own heel gimmick and Vince let him do it because he was Roman. Jinder had no way to recover after that forced title run. It was forever burned onto his character in WWE that he was a jobber champion and viewed as a guy that shouldn't have had the belt. Even if he did deserve to have the run the perception is he didnt. Because it was bad booking and not done right. He could have been a good heel champion if it was built up and done right. But because it wasnt it was too late. And with things as fickle as most wrestling fans and especially the marks. That is a characters death sentence in pro wrestling.

Last 2 times he was on TV he apsolutely smashed it. The segment with The Rock was awesome and the whole thing with the title match against Seth was awesome. For a second he got us convinced (to some extent) that he maybe might have a chance of winning the title just to stick it to Tony Khan. Firing him roght after he's done those 2 angles pretty much perfectly is a bit ridiculous.

    Thank you for this. The WWE presented Jinder Mahal as a stereotypical foreign heel who gives anti-America promos when he debuted..... Years later during his promo with the Rock he was still the stereotypical foreign heel. Nothing really changed. His entire career was held back by the WWE creative forcing him to be within the limits, so his growth was hindered. I mean, believe it or not, even people who are not pure white American have different aspects to their personality you can play with. Even generally speaking it seems to be a lame trend to put wrestlers with foreign originals into this limited bracket, automatically making it tougher for them to really break through. Story and character development is everything. The rest follows. Jinder wasn't given much to play with. In short, he was let down by the WWE creative and then he is released. It's unfortunate for Jinder. He was often booked as a jobber too. That's not his fault either. I know Indian fans who were like "Why is he always booked at a stereotypical foreign heel. Give him something else for gods sake!"

    Lmao, Russo has that Vince McMahon mindset. Trying to push a guy to the moon, just because they are big with a good physique. russo also trying to push a guy primarily based on his nationality/ethnicity, lmao. If thats the mindset you wanna use to push people and push your product, then go for it, but youre gonna see your product diminish. Using that reasoning, why not get a great physique wrestler, with great statue, that is pure Indian, instead of primarily canadian and then indian. Stevie has the right mindset. Its as he said, you gotta play the game and more. Then russo goes back on his word and goes with "it is creatives fault after all!" Like bruh, russo, you were creative for a long time with so much great talent to use, and flopped a lot.. blaming yourself xD

    People care way too much what country wrestlers come from. I've been watching wrestling for 30 years and I never had a favorite wrestler that was from Germany. Put on a good match and/or be an interesting character and people will like you. Jinder couldn't do any of that. I'm glad he's gone. WWE has too many male wrestlers anyway.

    India is not a monolithic nation, it has 450 different linguistic groups - being Indian descent does not mean he is popular in his country of origin. Khali is popular in India because he 7'4, light skinned and he votes for the Modi party (the current ruling party of India) - Jinder is darker skinned and does not vote in India because he is Canadian citizen. Political affiliation, perceived socio-economic status (level of power) and looks play a huge role in India.

    Size isnt everything. Jinder was never really over as a talent outside of a small group of mark fans that liked him. That happens with any wrestler even lower card guys like sandow. But big picture jinder was never over and more than once the company tried getting him over. He got the title, he got put in that match with Rollins, they moved him to NXT to try and get him over. ect. Its not like they just randomly fired him without trying to do something with him.
