I bought my Tudor BB GMT (black dial) two years and 7 months ago, brand new on bracelet. Everything works perfectly, it's in almost perfect condition and I love it in every single way. The opaline one is beautiful as well, but I love mine so much. Great video and many thanks for sharing.

To appreciate Tudor you must see it for what it is. I have a 116610LN and it compares in quality in many ways to my Tudor BB GMT. The build quality on the Tudor is of extreme high quality. I wear it for long stretches, it’s a go anywhere do anything watch that’s perfect for traveling to far away places. I suspect many of the Tudor bashers here would change their minds after handling and wearing a Tudor GMT. Don’t knock it till you try it trust me.

Excellent review, but even better video quality. This is the only review I've seen that captures the ivory tint of the opaline dial. Well done.

Nice one Richard. I love the opaline dials that Tudor produce as I love my Panda Chronograph. There is one slight downside from my experience and that is that it isn't quite as at a glance readable as say a black dial. From an aesthetic perspective the opaline dial wins hands down though. Sometimes form over function makes sense. Many thanks for sharing.

Great video, thanks for the details. Given the movement and attention to detail in design, with its own identity, I think we will look back and recognize this watch for a moment where Tudor was elevating.

I’ve got a couple of Rolex GMT’s, and bought a Tudor GMT. It’s dual use, as it’s got a deeper dive rating than my Rolexes, and we take diving vacations. I like it for that reason alone.

I'm 19 years old now，my parent's bought me a Tudor black dial GMT when I was 18 I think the white dial is more young people choice.But I still choose the black dial because is looking more vintage😊 From few month experience of watch，is wear perfect and vintage looking not show off too much is matching my age😊

Brilliant, but chunky watch

I’ve always been a Rolex guy. Mainly subs. But recently I’ve found my self swaying towards other brands. The type of person wearing Rolex’s has put me off the brand a bit. I do love just how comfy a sub is on the wrist though. This Tudor GMT Opaline is really tempting me, I’m not sure how I’ll like the larger size and thickness but it’s just such a stand out design with out being too flash and “look at me” - the two things which is driving me away from Rolex. If I go for this I might try and get a Tudor T-fit clasp or a Steel Reef on the fly extension.

2023 TUDOR watches presented an opaline dial GMT, with "Pepsi" bezel, a bit an homage/ lookalike of the late 1950s PanAm executive white-cream Rolex GMT-master 6245 pilot watch. It looks like some of these opaline TUDOR GMT also have the changing date problem as the precursor had with date wheel ? 🤔🤔🤔 Any feedback ?

The Tudor is sweet. No doubt. The Rolex GMT is the icon though. Modern Pepsi and the BatMan are without peer. I’d still take the opaline dial Tudor Pepsi though.

The problem is, those are all black dials. Right? The Opaline dial is a game changer.

Hopefully their will be a size increase to the GMT-Master II soon. 1mm extra on case and lug width 😈

But it seems to not have the new BB strap extension trick. I have owned a number of Tudors and though very good I couldn't get past the fact that I really wanted a Rolex. I sold them all but hanker after the BB58 925 silver version which I sold and regret it. This watch seems very thick though as you say it may wear smaller than its dimensions suggest.

I’m lucky to have a wife who brought me one. It’s a fantastic watch and it doesn’t seem as big as others make it out to be. Great value for money.

I prefer the strap options over the bracelet.

I have five Rolex. None are gmts. I have the Pro and opaline dial. I’m waiting on the Tudor Coke. Tudor has to up its game by putting a tfit.

The critics that criticize this watch must have small wrists I have the black dial version on a 63/4 wrist fits fine it’s a tool watch it’s supposed to be chunky only idiots pay double over retail for the Rolex GMT and that coming from someone who has multiple Rolex

Hi Kc, don't forget that the Rolex is in a different price category. As for Tudor being compared with "a fancy pickup", it's worth mentioning that the Toyota pickup was the one vehicle that Top Gear couldn't break...

They need to add the T fit clasp.

Aluminum bezel and that bracelet are killing it. I’d rather travel with Pelagos even without GMT, because it’s a much-much better watch.

I agree that the aluminum bezel and bracelet are killing it in the sense that the bezel will look killer once it fades from many years of use. Handled my brother’s Pelagos and wasn’t impressed even with the titanium.

No. However I am a fan of the Tudor Pelagos blue - so much so that I bought one as an everyday watch. Rolex will always be superior by design, excuse the pun, and will be priced accordingly.

The Rolex GMT is such an iconic watch that Tudor's GMT is suffering underneath the Shadow of Rolex's GMT. However, the white dial version has managed to capture that Historical Rolex DNA without seeming like a copy cat; This is because there once was a white dial Rolex GMT that never really got the pop culture status of the black dial variant. Tudor adopting the white dial brings in something fresh while maintaining genuine heritage. I do think the introduction of a jubilee bracelet will give it more of its own personality. The black version never won me over because it still looked like a Black Bay diver. Rolex did the same thing in terms of converting the Submariner to a GMT, however, over the vast amount of time it has been around, it is its own entity

I've just picked this model up and couldn't be happier with it! The only 'small' issues are the lack of the T-fit clasp, which is a shame, and the 15mm height which likely puts some people off. It isn't an issue for me, but for anyone with a wrist smaller than 7 inches it could perhaps be a problem.

Most tudors are too unrefined at the moment. They need to bring the thickness down at least by 2mm. I’d argue the bb58 ad bb54 actually can compete.

This is a great watch, frankly, with a superb movement. I have a black dial version which is accurate to 0.5 seconds a day. I do prefer the opaline version, but it wasn't available when I bought mine. However, I do understand the viewpoint of its critics, and I think that Tudor missed a trick by not fitting a T-Fit clasp on this update. It makes a difference to the wearing experience of the Pro, and I think that it would have gone some way to answering the GMT's critics.

If you like a vintage look to your watch Tudor is 100% the way to go …. Same type of movement for 1/5 of the price still owned by Rolex & a way better value for your money

Just because Tom Cruise or a footballer are paid to wear a watch brand doesn't make it desirable, at least to me anyway!

Breitling B01 powers the Tudor Chronograph, though.

No way is it ‘ contemporary’ lol. Clues in the name….. ‘Heritage’! The GMT-Master II is Contemporary. The aluminium bezel insert matches the fake rivets perfectly. There is not enough micro adjustment on that bracelet because of those fake rivets, and as such it does not fit a lot of people as well as it could.

Round indices with square hour hand. It doesn’t work. It looks off, it always did to me. I only like Tudors without this design flaw, so no version of the Black Bay for me.

I've owned the black dial version of the BB GMT and also the BB Pro, and both of them felt a lot chunkier than my Rolex GMT II. If they could make a BB 58 GMT, without making it as thick as the BB Pro, I'd certainly get me one.

I'll tell you where Tudor wins. No games with AD and it's available.

This was so non-critical about the numerous failings of this piece you really need to declare paid promotions.

Tudor doing great. However, their slab thick cases will always make Rolex the much better GMT. I have owned the pro and GMT models and I sold them both due to the thickness. They can't touch Rolex in that regard.

Tom Cruise didn't want to wear this Tudor. It wasn't his choice. It was probably about some contracts.

For me the Tudor is too tall, but as soon as that changes, it becomes a super watch.

Love that watch but put it on an oyster bracelet, not that faux rivet garbage. It's bloody awful.

No, Tudor hasn’t even caught up to omega yet, it’s got a long way to go before it can claim to have caught its big brother. It’s still the Rolex substitute for most people that don’t want to blow a lot of money on a grey market Rolex GMT. Still looks like a Rolex so more precautions are needed than with a Seiko.

I do like these and the black dial version but would you go for one of these or a Rolex OP ? I know its almost double the cost but there is the dilema. Get a Tudor and save the difference or go for Rolex because its a "Rolex"?

With all due respect... I think you are quite prejudiced about both, Tudor and Beckham. Haha one can like both, high luxury AND a brand like Tudor. Two very different things. I myself have a PP, 6 Rolex incl. 2 pretty rare vintage pieces AND a bb58 blue that brings me so much joy too! It's completely different to my vintage seadweller and it just works different because of the blue bezel/dial... I love it! And I am seriously considering buying one of the FXDs! It doesn't matter how much money you have, Tudor has become a fantastic brand with some amazing designs of their own! Of course he wouldn't wear the whole catalogue perfectly matched with each outfit (gotta admire how much of a pro he is... the documentary was like a Tudor ad 😂), but I can't see why he wouldn't rock a Pelagos or a BB54 with a casual look. Nothing from the other brands with that look!

My Glycine base 22 keeps better time then my friends Rolex GMT, and I have a fair few Seikos that tell better time then both of those. Rolex is not about telling time, but telling others you can buy a Rolex. BTW, I've never seen an Ugly Tudor, I've seen many ugly Rolex.

Great watch built by it's Master, Rolex...no student is greater than their master, so to speak, I know we are all excited at TUDOR, I personally love the Bevel on the lugs, but NO....just because Rolex is hard to get does not mean we have to be so personal....gimme a GMT II anyday, I have 2 of them, never give me trouble since 1988 to date...so.....NO.

Too thick, too top heavy, too crude. It’s a tool watch. Basically it’s a fancy pickup truck vs a Range Rover. The master2 is so much more refined. Longines Zulu time 39 or 42 at at least 1200 less is only slightly behind with its movement, and more elegant/versatile. Also any GS’s Take out the price, I would take any gmt m2 over this. I have been looking for something current to my 20 yo 16710 (still +2 sec/d) that check off the same boxes for a few years and still searching.

This watch’s proportions are all over the place. It seriously needs to go on a diet or get a 39mm version as an option. I own the Pepsi version and feel it’s meh! It is just awkward and cumbersome. It just doesn’t wear well. And don’t even get me started on the bezel. It sucks! Before anyone comes in to defend it… Come on. Be honest with yourself. There are Tissots, midos orient and seikos out there, costing less than half of what this costs, with better bezel action.

In a word.... nope, Tudors don't even hold their money that well...as my pal said recently, another great marketing ploy by Rolex...
