I love the idea of putting filters on them. "Police say the victim reportedly has bunny ears and his face is much higher contrast to the rest of us."

Tom knew all along he would be REMISS in his computer security by having these photos on his hard drive and yet accessible by his family, so it was sheer power of acting that got him through this terrible terrible lie.

I watch a lot of true crime on KZread and Tubi TV. I often find it amazing that they only use a single picture (or two) of the victim. Often, as Tom suggests, it's not the most flattering photo. I only have one picture of myself on my computer. I've been using my profile picture since 2000. It's the only picture I like. I'm not worried. I cannot imagine a scenario where someone would kidnap me (what would be the point?), and cannot believe anyone would spend even five minutes trying to locate me, or my body.

Well usually the people who miss you are the ones scouring through missing people reports and sightings reported. By the time that missing people pictures reach the internet its just a shot in the dark if someone happens to recognize you. There is actually a reason why they stopped putting missing children on cartons of milk, its harrowing for the kids who have to see that every morning and it didn't actually help find these kids even if cartons of milk is seen by nearly everyone you know every single day. Also, you want a expressionless face. Thats what most people who dont know you would possibly remember. An exaggerated smile would make it harder.

You know, dont actually do this, in case you actually think its a good idea. You WANT a expressionless face because that easier to identify by people that dont know you. This is documented but even as a slighter chance of being saved. One woman was found murdered and nobody knew who it was, but on her person she had one photo of herself with a man from a photo booth. And this very exaggerated expression on her face actually made the police reconstruct it to be more neutral.

Yes and no. You can't make blanket generalizations about body language because humans are so diverse. You *NEED* to have knowledge of a person's typical body language in order to judge their body language in a specific situation. Some people habitually cross their arms, regardless of mood or truth / lie -telling. Just like I, as a person with unmedicated ADHD (like Lee Mack), bounce my leg all the time, whether I am happy, bored, anxious, etc. But my whole life, from childhood to adulthood, people who believe in body language generalizations have seen my leg bouncing and say, "Aha! You're anxious."
