My favorite will always be Simon’s Cat and the bird inadvertently decorating the tree. It makes me weepy.

I'm on my second formerly feral kitty. The honor of being adopted by her. Took almost a year of coexisting. Year 5 now. All the love. 😺❤🙏

I have a stray kitty that we've kept in the house for two years come January 16th and I still haven't been able to actually pet him but he has come a long way! I really believe he was abused because of how he was so afraid of our feet and hands but he will come and lay down near us when we are watching TV!❤😻 Patience has never been a strong trait for me but I'm truly happy with the kitty (Diamond) in our house!

Our cat is super polite. Sometimes I wonder if she's even a cat at all. She never knocks down anything, never hurts the christmas tree and she's super gentle with her surroundings. She also respects us and doesn't sit on our face, listens to "no" and always comes when called. Our cat is a dog 😂

Wrapping presents was always a hysterical time with Wilson living the feel of slick paper under his claws. For years people asked me: why are there pinholes in the wrapping? Kitty toenails. Wilson making his contribution to gift wrapping. Miss him.

They just keep us budget conscious with our decorations. Artificial trees and lights contain lead. So I just drew a bunch of light bulbs, colored them, and taped it to yarn. It didn't raise my energy bill at all having them up for years. Mine were happy watching TV after a certain age. They enjoyed seeing various cartoons save Christmas, perform A Christmas Carol or perform The Nutcracker. Also food, can't forget the joy ham brings to a cat.

Rule No.1 - NEVER leave a cat alone with a Christmas tree. If you leave the room take the cat with you and make sure all doors are shut.😀 - Buy cat proof decorations just to be sure, or at least put old/crap ones near the bottom and in batting range of your festive feline.

We had to buy all plastic ornaments for our tree for the first few Christmases while our cat outgrew his need to hunt the tree. Now, he's content to lay under the tree when the lights are on, basking in it's glow. My cat thinks we put the tree up in his honour. 😂

I had both. Cats can understand what NO means. Never had a cat climb a Christmas tree. The ornaments they could reach were non toxic and could handle some kitty abuse. BUT I wasn't out of the house working. I was right there so I could monitor their shenanigans. I have a couple little bell ornaments on the tree. When I heard the bells tinkle I came running to reinforce the NO. I understand that if I was away from the house for 8-9 hrs a day my tree might have hit the floot at some point. Because they're cats. That's what they do. And we worship them. Love to all!

@@wendybutler1681 With a couple or 3 cats, that's doable. We have 15, so keeping up with them all is impossible. It's safer to just not put up a tree. LOL

We adopted a new kitty this year, so our tree is kitty-minded in its decorations. Callie seems fine, other than nibbling at the fake needles occasionally. So next year will probably have breakables out.

Hmmm... How about getting a tree out of shaped metal and welding decorations on? Securely bolted to the floor AND the ceiling. It MIGHT survive these kitties. Maybe.

I wrapped packages with my twins for 15 years. It was a fun day for all 3 of us. Everything got inspected. I'd pull their perch over to the table so they could see everything. It was table height so they could walk right onto the table from it. Never had a cat that climbed the tree. Murphy would put the lowest ornaments in the water bowl so only non-toxic near the floor. He put everything in his water bowl. Knucklehead cats!

We had a lot of cats, there was always a Christmas tree and no one touched it, except to knock down a couple of the lower toys. When a cat has enough of her own toys, she is not interested in the Christmas tree.
