Now when it comes to the question how much money do they actually have well if you look at their accounts over the past decade they’ve posted loss after loss and since the arrival of Gerrard have used internal Loans to finance their squads. Rangers have probably spunked the best part of £130m to secure 1 Title and Two Cups in that period. Celtic meanwhile have been in profit for the most part and currently sit with an excess of £50m in the Bank despite spending decent sums on players. Seldom in fact do Celtic come out of a Transfer Window having lost money but rather have had a negative spend with an emphasis on bring in more money. It will be really interesting to see if Rangers can break even this Summer or as I suspect they go back to the well and ask their Investors to pony up yet more of their cash for what are now worthless shares that will once more be diluted as the share pool gets bigger as a result. It will be even more interesting given they like several other Clubs are currently under the spotlight of UEFA in regards to how they are running at a loss every year reliant on these Internal Loans. This approach isn’t sustainable long term.
