Has James May made the worst sandwich yet?
Ойын-сауық
He has made some fairly spectacular creations over the years, but we think James May has hit rock bottom with this sheer rubbishness. A parsnip sandwich? I think we’d rather bring back the Pot Noodle…

Another possibility: it's like those magic shops you see in fiction like Twilight Zone. It actually has whatever the person looking needs. If James opens it, he finds the ingredients for his sandwich. If I open it, it's just chock full of beer, cheese, and pickles. If Lucy Brown opens it, it's empty because she doesn't actually like anything.

I don't think they've ever said where the bunker is. Or shown inside the fridge. If they did, we'd see the big hole in the back of the fridge, the wall, and the inside of the food warehouse they've tunneled into. This is why James gives a cue "I wonder if we have any lard?" which prompts a runner to go fetch it, and plonk it on the shelf.

I like the twilight zone theory. But my realistic guess is lucy stocks it with a vague idea james wants, lets say he uses half of whats in it.

James should definitely make a new cooking show for Amazon Prime, but this time make food with weird ingredients and combinations (and maybe his Gin) suggested by the fans. So almost like this.
i don’t ever wanna lose james, richard, or Jeremy
as someone from a tamil family, it's weird realizing that something i took as holistic stomach ache medicine (fenugreek, or 'venthaiyam' as my mother says, while i puke) is also used to make alcohol, which causes the very stomach aches.
I used to make cheese and Doritos Hot Salsa dip sandwiches, with some added sliced sour pickles, but that was about 20 years ago by now, they had changed the recipe and it became much more like a sauce than the watery dip that it used to be, which i loved. To be fair though, the watery dip made it impossible to prepare the sandwiches and eat them some time later, because they'd be soaked and falling apart by then, but still, it just tasted better. Long story short, have you tried making sandwiches with dips?
Lucy Brown, the true hero of the show.
I didn’t realize how much I missed James May.
"im really making this up as I go along" - that's the absolute best version of James, and the others for that matter.
Have you guys tried making the ultimate breakfast wrap? Eggs (fried or scrambled) bacon, melted cheese, hash brown, BBQ sauce

If you want this channel to do anything anymore you need to work the gin into it somehow.
"Parsnip represents England and it's dampness." - D. MAY, James. 2022. That's some Churchill level quote.
When Lucy Brown said "Paste" I really felt that
Happy Birthday, James !! 🎂😘
I would like a James refrigerator that magically has the ingredient I need
The best Christmas present one could ask for, a new sandwich video!
I think it’s time for another May and Hammond drinking game challenge. Wonder which one would end up dead playing Monopoly? 😂
That’s the best 10 minutes I’ve ever wasted 😂. Keep them coming!
James, you need to get that bunker sorted out like a workshop. Shadow borders for everything.
When James used a metal utensils on teflon, I literally screamed in terror every time.
James did the Monty Python "waffer thin" joke.
You know the cost of living crisis is bad when James won't flood the cowling anymore 😟
Might have been an idea to add a splash of gin to the pan at the end to give the parsnip a bit of softness and caramelisation
What is a middle- aged man doing one week before Christmas?.....🤣
Glad to see these once again
There is something decidedly pleasing about a "gin sandwich". A quick phrase said amongst friends with an flexible interpretation and as an greater concept.
A better approach might have been to make quick pickles with the parsnip, and then use them to dress a banh mi sandwich. That would have required planning ahead 24 hrs though, and I suspect that much planning wasn't something they planned for...
Youd almost think that the Fridge is Magic it always seems to have the exact Ingredients he needs 😄
Roast parsnip slices in an oven to remove the water content. Allow to cool; then create a marinate with the spices and add to the cooked but now cooled parsnip; allowing those flavours to seep into the parsnip. Pan fry the parsnip crisps at a high heat for a short time, then add to the council bread layered with Lurpak spreadable butter invented in 1901, season the crisps with a touch of sea salt, and serve. You could also separately create a spicy mayonnaise to dip the toasted sandwich into. Thank me later.
James should do a bug out bunker episode with the whole crew. Would love seeing Tom, Lucy, Ben, and Rachel as Test subjects.
Id like to nominate the 'Cheese and Onion' sandwich as the next Triber's Sando

I think parsnip sandwich can work, just perhaps not pan fried. Maybe cubes of parsnip, skin on, parboiled and then roasted with the spices and a bit of oil would work better.
Sounds like we need a few more james mail time videos. Then we can send you all sorts of sharpening implements for your various bunker kitchen videos.
the meme lives on the fridge, love it! XD
As a former chef, knife maker and shovel/rhino maker. I approve of this advert. They should both be sharp.
Honestly thought James was going to make a sandwich with gin "Roy Swallow Cliff, a tastefully modernized 18th century pub in south Wiltshire, just off the a30 between Shaftesbury and Salisbury. Very reasonably priced rooms, an excellent menu and a superb selections of wines, spirits and beers."
That bit with the toaster door closing, you just know that's going to be appearing in some remixes.
The toaster might be a bit slow because you keep leaving the door open.
A proper bite. Not one of your hamster nibbles. Lol.... Me: did someone beckon Richard lol
Someone: "I won the Lottery!" Me: "Oh yeah?!?" "I found a James hair in my sandwich!" Thank you Mr. May and crew!
So James raided the kitchen supplies. He admitted to the knives but seemed to be a lot more missing 😲
Those ingredients look a lot like the bone, the off-white, the ivory and the beige. RIP, Richie Benaud.
"That's not as bad as I thought it would be" a fitting end to such a barmy experiment.
Yeees. More James and more Sandwiches!!!
I could watch these folks for hours!!!

Let it be known that on Dec 17 James May has finally discovered to toast the bread for a sandwich.

James May and Oz Clarke wine tasting
Lucy Brown is probably adopted by James now lol
Im realising James sounds much like Jack Sparrow
I would love to see some sort of peanut butter and banana combo myself. My dad did some nasty stuff with that combo
I think ... you could have boiled the aromatics in vegetable oil - made a mayonnaise from that, and used that in a parsnip sandwich (maybe oven-baked and sliced) ... that might work.
Hoooollllddddddd up, I'm always caught off guard when old men use terms such as "plug my gin"

This 10-minute video was interrupted by a 33-minute advert. I let it run as I was doing something else but it just amused me. Also I enjoyed the Windows 3.1/95 sound effect around 8:25.
Apropos Lurpak. The brand "Lurpak" is from 1901. And is genuine, proper butter. The spreadable (margarine) version only arrived in 1990. I can recommend you to use the original version. Just don't put it in the fridge. Leave it on the kitchen table. Unless it's a hot summers day.🙂
I don't know why but something about James May saying 'Lurpak spreadable butter invented in 1901/1903' is extremely fulfilling to me :P
Lucy missed her opportunity to finally cut the toast diagonally
Lucy looks great!
Love the new video James, tho everytime the fridge opens we need to says cheese! Keep up the awesome videos
That’s 10 minutes of my life I won’t get back.
James May is reminding me more and more of Catweazel. Keep the magic going👍🏻
I am waiting when James sokes the bread in his jin and fry off the loaf as like a french toast... Instead calling it jin toast 🍞
I have to admit that I have put parsnip in "Asian" stir fry dishes & it actually compliments quite well.
