What we should remember is that Mourinho took Spurs to knock out stages of both Europa and Carabau then put then in a top four position 1st half of the season. These players got fatigue due to poor squard depth then the fall happened. I don't know why Spurs management can't see that this team needs more quality players. Currently, Son and Kane are quality, the rest is below average players who ant even better than the Hammers.

In short, his message is "I'm willing to stay, but you've to spend in summer. If not, let's agree to amicably terminate our relationship". His professional pride and honesty do not permit him to continue in this fashion. He remains honest. Now Levy has to make an equally honest decision. Is he willing to spend or isn't he? If he isn't, don't even hope that Poch would return even if offered the job. The cost of Conte leaving would be unimaginable. Levy will have to factor in a Spurs without Kane, and a Spurs in the lower half of the league for some time. Very costly, more so than what he'd need to spend this summer. The reality of the Premier League stares at you in the face, Daniel. Spend or sell the club. That's what it boils down to. Either would be a correct decision.

I know 4 losses out of the last 5 is bad, but Spurs have generally been a decent team for a few years in a league where it's hard to stand out. Where do critics think they should be every season? Top four?! The Spurs squad just doesn't look better than others in the top half of the league. Kane and Son would walk into any team, but who else? This is not Conte's fault and I'm not convinced it's necessarily the player's "fault" either. Sometimes a squad is just not good enough to mix it with the best, finito.

Excuse me, are you talking about Squad? Leave United alone, any of the starting front 3 will fit right into my team. Hojbjerg for certain will fit into my team, Bentancur and Cristian Romero would be welcome squad additions, not deadwood. And my team is yours truly Arsenal! Don't blame the squad for the situation, but expect this to happen if a manager like Conte takes charge with little support from the management. They sold four players including Alli. They didn't get what he needs most which is his wing backs, and the CBs are a complete disaster. That still doesn't mean that the issue is squad.

  • @fifaclips1530

You're right. Thing is, you've got so many sides now that have owners with ambition, but they aren't going to bankrupt themselves to compete at the absolute top level, with teams that are just toys for oil playboys, with no reason to be in the sport other than to spend money on their hobby. Most owners are in football, these days, to make money. Like it or not, that's a fact, and you can't compete with limitless funds, if you want to make money. Maybe the new rules on limiting player loans will help level the playing field a bit and maybe the EPL will implement new rules to stop teams inventing sponsorship deals, but probably not. Until then you've only really got one way around it and that's giving an exceptional manager a long, long time, to gradually build, and the media in this country makes doing that almost impossible.

The rest seems to be adequate in being competitors of EPL level, but nothing more... just my opinion. Maybe that's what he's sensing? He's got a decent workable squad on paper, but why can't he get the best out of them? Is it his fault? the club's fault? players' fault? Is it too early to judge Conte?

Spurs played well and lost today. Should have been more clinical with their finishing in 2nd half. Lots of chances but fumbled them, then let ourselves down defensively. Moura played terribly today, lost alot of form most recently. Whilst many fans don't think Emerson is good, which is fair if we're talking about going forwards, defensively though he would have provided better cover from a defensive point of view for the goal conceded.
