I grew up in the country, a very long time ago, and remember just shoving a whole hunk of honey comb in my mouth and drinking freshly churned buttermilk and pulling up fresh peanuts off the vine. It wasn't until I was much older that I realized how lucky I was to grow up like that.

I grew up in the suburbs my whole life but my grandparents have an acre of land where they garden, I used to eat fresh corn and fresh grapes right off the vine as well as tomatoes. I don't know why but homegrown food like those fruits and vegetables tasted so much better than store bought for some reason. They don't grow anything anymore so I too feel lucky getting to experience that at a young age.

I appreciate how condcious you are of the wellbeing of the bees and their hard work. Really work to take care of them and their hives. Fantastic overview of harvesting honey and I like the emphasis on the educational portion of the process. Thanks for sharing!

3:42am in california and honestly thank you for this content. i’m so happy something took my mind off of what’s going on right now. not that what’s going on isn’t important, it’s just the loveliest little breather.

I had a hive in Connecticut in the mid nineties. The neighbors were terrified of the hive. It sat in a large rock pile, so kids were unlikely to bother the bees. I never took the honey. Just wanted the bees for the gardens and fruit trees. After about 3 years, there was a war between the bees and attacking yellow jackets. Under the winter hive entrance would be piles of dead bees and yellow jackets. By the end of about 3 or 4 months, the entire hive of 3 trays died off. Disease or stress. The whole experience was delightful. The bees were like your children. I was not after the honey. Just the pollination of blooms on the trees and veggies. Excellent video. Learned a lot. Keep in mind a bee stinging you is literally a suicide attack of sorts. They WILL NOT sting you unless you give them a very very good reason. And if they do they make sure it`ll hurt.(hence them not targetting the hands.)

Well from his point of view, i'd guess it'd be hard to do stuff like beekeping without the force to spin that thingy, so you'd need to stay healthy to do stuff

this has been quite the experience. i have trypophobia so any misshapen cell in the comb makes me super uncomfortable. but watching you cut the comb and fill the jars have to have been the most satisfying thing I've seen all year. never has a video made so uneasy and happy.

This video is just great from start to finish, between the adorable bees the accent and the dramatic slomo shot in the beginning I don't know what I like the most (I'm sorry if my english is bad it's not my native language)

Another great video. When I was about 12 years old I took a class along with some other kids from church and we learned to make bee hives and frames and all that. Then it was time to start our own hives and I found out that I was allergic to bee stings and that was the end of that. Then when I was in my thirties I worked for an outfit in Walla Walla and I operated machines that mass produced frame components to the tune of 50,000 frames per day. So anyway, I really enjoyed this video. Very well done and it brought back some good memories. Thanks.

I've been with bee keepers when they robbed hives. They've tried to explain the uncapping and slinging process but this is the first time I've actually seen it. As they say, a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Thanks for providing the picture.

An uncle kept bees in the back yard in so cal. They had sage and cultivated flowers and fruit trees in the neighborhood to dine on. There was always a comb of honey on the table. He spread the honey and comb wax on toast...

did anyone else get really excited when he shaved off that comb and there was just TONS of sticky delicious looking honey!! OMG.. Bees.. you are AMAZING.

Flickering occurred when he slowed the video. I don't have seizures but that flickering made me felt a little dizzy or light headed, interesting...

Your video was a nice therapy. So much effort put into making something so special really makes you think about the rubbish so called honey that we consume daily. Appreciate the hard work put into the each and every bottle by the bees and the man behind this video.

That is awesome. I wish I could spoon out that honey right now. It's great to see hobbyists put time and energy into an ancient and valuable art form.
