Congrats dude! What an accomplishment.
Unbelievable! There’s nothing to compare with that feeling of pride and enjoyment, sharing your bounty with loved ones. Great job, fellow Saskie.
Love how everyone on the homestead benefits from the harvest and gets in on the action !! From one proud Canadian to another GREAT JOB 👏🏽🍁🇨🇦🌲
Me: "Check it out! Bananas from Canada!" The audience (with twisted eyes 👀😳🤭): "Yeah, right!" Then I showed the video and they are: 😵😵😵😵😵 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Congratulations (thousands of congrats!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉) from a former banana and plantain farm helper!! ❤️🙏🏼
I kinda like the music. The contrast of Harry Belafonte vs the voice of a very stereotypical white man catches you off guard and can’t help but give me a lil chuckle 😂

banana stem chopped up placed around the plants is the best mulch/fertilizer for bananas!

Sounds like a good way to breed diseases. How about feeding the banana stem to livestock, and then putting the composted manure around the plant?
Like having a baby!! Proud lil family!!🤗❤️
Everyone is happy today 😊
wow...is there a dwarf variety that can be grown indoors. You guys are awesome. I never get enough of this.....awesome stuff!

The dwarf get 10ft high, so it’s doable.
I wish we’re neighbors so I can asked some leaves for cooking some Filipino snacks . What a wonderful greenhouse.
Love it bananas in Saskatchewan. 🌴🤠
The fruits of your labor!
Sooooooo awesome 🎉👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎉 the last time we harvested bananas 🍌 we had to cut down in the middle of a Houston winter also. Wow been about 13 years ago and two homes ago, just after hurricane 🌀 ike
I think those are what we in Australia call Lady Finger... the shape and size look so similar... great effort, certainly proving your ideas will work... even in such outside conditions...
That variety remind me of the only native Canadian Tropical fruit tree, Paw paw fruit! Another thing to add to the greenhouse! Paw Paw fruits rippen VERY VERY quickly. Actually you could plant those tree outside maybe not in SK but southern PQ and Quebec can plan them outside.
Congratulations!! In my Jamaican culture we boil the green bananas for regular addition to our meals . Ripe is a dessert, it’s the perfect food . Good job !!!
One of my favorite things to make with bananas is Canary wine. Super easy and oh so tasty
Bring on the banana bread. That's awesome!!!
Lots of banana loafs!! 😊 How amazing!!
Your not butchering a deer! 😂😂 That looks great would love to come and see it some time! Great channel from a fellow Saskatchewanite 😊😊😊😊
The satisfaction of growing and harvesting your own food is empowering. The basics of food production should be taught in elementary school. More than just participating in the local 4H club.
Really good cooked green-ripe like you have them. Boil the banana in the skin till the skin splits. Cool and peel, then treat like a potato. Hash browns are great with Saba. Potato salad, etc.

I was going to add a comment to tell you that you can boil the green ones and treat them just as you would a potato … fantastic sub for “potato” salad. However, you should trim the top and bottom - just about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch, and score a thin strip along the side before boiling. I’ve never had this variety but it should taste ok; it’ll definitely be a winner with the Cavendish!
Congratulations thous bananas look wonderful. 👍
I have grown coffee, lemons, passion fruit and more in Michigan.
Those look delious !! I have been raising ornamental banana plants for years, I think you have convinced me to try to grow some that will actually produce.
Saba for sure. You can eat the flower of that kind after preparing them.
if you can, try drying and freezing some bananas for later. save some good banana leaves and steam rice in it with banana and some sugar. delicious!!
Absolutely stunning video. Congratulations !!!!!
Incredible...absolutely incredible. Sir, I applaud you. Cheers from Ottawa🍁
Amazing......I only wish that I could have a greenhouse like yours!
Lucky chicken!
Awesome! Such a white boy Canadian version of the song! 😂
Cool. Now save the peels for compost or animal feed.
So nice with bananas that hasn't been sprayed with poison.
Do you know that you can freeze fresh bananas and the taste will be super sweet if they are well mature before you freeze it. The texture will be completely different of course so blend it with bakery , ice cream, porridge, smoothies… If you use it in smoothies you should smash them a little inside the plastic bag before you freeze them then the machine can handle it directly from the freezer and your smoothie will be deliciously cold.
You can make a freezer full of banana bread and live like kings and queens!
I have similar looking bananas in my yard. They were called namwah bananas, I give them to friends and to the ducks. Have had 50-60 pound bunches, in fact i have 4 bunches growing now. Believe it or not I almost never eat bananas, I just like the way they look! What a great way to bring the tropics to your own area. I have a friend in Minnesota who has a lean to greenhouse attached to his home and has all kinds of tropical plants including bananas and palm trees.
the canadian version of day-o is pretty great, ngl
only thing better than a greenhouse is a flying greenhouse
Fantastic harvest enjoyed by your sweet family! Great accomplishments! Thanks for sharing! 👋 from Alberta & blessings 🤗
I love everything you’ve done and have watched a few of your videos. In one of your videos you mentioned a hot tub space in your amazing greenhouse. You said , quote, ( if I ever take the time to relax ). At that moment I felt such a surge of sadness. You see, I recognized myself in how you are driven to make the best life possible for yourself and more importantly, your family. Unfortunately I missed the point entirely. A few years ago my ( now forty year old son ) pointed out that I was always too busy, too driven, to really spend time with them. And he was right. I hope you dont end up feeling what I felt at rhat moment.

Oooo!! Noice!! Good job! That was heavy!!
Not too shabby. Spectacular.
looks like Thai Nam Wah banana. I love the sweet/tangy taste of this.
Thats amazing. You ought to apply for a world record! When my children were young, I'd peel them and store them in freezer bags in the freezer. They liked to get one and dip it in that chocolate that turned into a shell around it.
I'm in Wisconsin I have 4 banana plants pineapple and lemon trees. Amazing greenhouse
it's denser and we cook with it, making desserts and it doesn't go mushy.
Awesome man. Gosh I paid a100 bucks for a blue Java, I really hope it is. greets from Portugal!!!!!
good stuff deano
Awesome! And no wastage. And...any variety you can get hold of...just sayin'.
Awesome. .you can also eat the flower, the inside of the stem, raw banana curry also leaves for cooking .

leaves are good for steaming food.
I have shared your video with some of my friends & showed my husband what you have achieved, he is very impressed. Thank you for all you share. Keep up the good work, & hopefully many will take the same initiative, & follow the same path. This is how we turn things around, until there is a lush greenlands everywhere, for man & beast. An environmentaly truly sustainable environment.
Hope Mr Lizard still has a home! Great job man, this is has inspired me to up my game at my place.
At home, bananas can be used for the entire plant. This banana is very good.
Man, that is awesome, congrats 👏
Congratulations!
that's really awesome. love it . I have been thinking about having greenhouse here in NY. because in the winter i can't find anything fresh so it will be nice to have one and and hanging out in my garden in the winter..
It's a jungle out there!! Great job!
That had to be 100 percent sassifaction eating bananas that you grew in your crazy climate. Nicely done. Freeze drying some banana chips?

Might have to do a batch. They are just ripening to perfection now. 👍
Fantastic! Liked and subscribed 🤙
That is an amazing result. A man called Chad Midgley (also his channel name) has several very cheap passive solar greenhouses in Utah, and he is commercially growing citrus fruits inside his greenhouses in the middle of a blizzard and 70mph wind. His greenhouses are packed and protected with a mulch made out of wood chips and green biomass, and several layers of transparent plastic, and it doesn't use any additional heat source. The micro organisms that live inside the mulch are providing all the heat. 👍
Well done! 🎉
So amazing!!!
Good jobs
Amazing!!! Way to go man!
Very inspiring. Thanks bud.
That's so awesome and inspiring!!
Congrats! 🍌
Man! I'm so excited to grow bananas on my homestead here in Alaska. I'm going to try to build a greenhouse as close to yours as possible. Thanks for sharing.

@@ArkopiaKZread Unfortunately, I don't have any good sun in the winter time. I would have to clear cut my neighbors trees to get any sun. I'll have to run artificial light in the winter. Summer sun is good though. I'm going to heat it with the wood boiler i'm going to install for my home.

Very cool, growing bananas in Canada. You give the prepping community hope when it comes to growing things. Much blessings to you & your family & friends.
Congrats!
Congratulations folks excellent effort with a sweet end!!!
Amazing ! Must be so satisfying. Oh, and the soundtrack is well done as always.
your family is adorable and I look forward to watching and learning from what you’re all up to next 😂
This is so great 👏💛 I’ve wondered what could be grown in Canada in greenhouses versus having it shipped from across the world. What you’ve accomplished is even better than I imagined. I’m in BC and would love to see what could grow here on the west coast where it never gets nearly as cold as SK. Thank you so much for doing this and sharing it in a video 🙏🍌✨
It's Nam Wah banana, they're delicious
Beautiful Man, Motivation ! 💯🌱🙏🏼🍌
Well done eat your heart out Dole,Chiquita etc.
🎉🎉🎉
Lovely……
That’s BANANAS 🍌 😅
they look like sweetheart (musa acuminata FHIA-3)
Nice
Looks like "Orito" banana variety... Usually very sweet, with dense, creamy texture..
well done sir!!! Very inspiring, I live in Alberta & was looking at land in BC, but you've inspired me to expand my scope, if it's possible in Saskatchewan, you can grow it anywhere!
DRINK that shit that's dripping! lol

Isn't that latex? I was thinking they could catch it in a bucket and find out what it's good for, but drinking it sounds iffy.
