The problem with making on open world rpg is that most of it has to be spent on school grounds and you do have to attend classes. And as I recall it wasn't until third year in the books that Harry and them even got to go to the near by town. So really for the first two years you are limited to the school grounds.

Stone, Chamber and Azkaban all had brilliant RPG style games made for them on the Playstation 2, PC and probably on xbox and gamecube as well. Would highly recommend all 3 of them.

Choices realy rarely matter. It's pretty much the same shit whatever you choose. As far as I can see, you can only miss house points and that kind of stuff with different choices, but outcome is same. So you choose to be Slytherin for example and what? You can't even fucking be evil. Sometimes the game even forces you to be whining emotional little pussy. Fuck it.

Not all mobile games are like that. Dont play famous ones. Spme are really nice. Some are even one of the greatest video games ever made. Play Alto's adventure, Soul Knight, Dan the Man...etc. Those are great mobile games. They wont ever ask you for a songle dollar or show a single ad.

You're F right. It's a hard challenge to find a good mobile game that's not a copy of other games that kinda worked. That's why I prefer buying the game rather than playing for free because at the end you're spending more money on free games trying to progress than if you actually bought it.

I agree. It would be more fun if it wasn't just tapping and had some actual gameplay like F/GO. I rarely play Hogwarts mystery anymore. At least in F/GO you can earn free apples which restore you AP or energy for free by beating event quests. Stockpile​ your apples and you'll never run out of energy when you need it.

In my opinion, I somewhat agree. The animation quality was good for what it was, and it wasn't full on bad which didn't really surprise me so much when I somehow chose to watch it. But the tons of cliches, dumb plot, and horrendous themes hold it back in one way and also make it a success for it being the "so bad so good" kind of movie

The Thing I hate about literally 90% Of mobile games, is the fact that they all have this little thing called ‘ENERGY’. It is not called the same in every game, but nonetheless, the dynamics of each game that has ‘Energy’ same. You need it to do stuff, and without it, you can’t play! And also, to perform one mission, you require a lot of energy, 10 per se. But, each energy point regenerates AFTER 4 DAMN MINUTES!! These games use this annoying feature for micro transaction, in turn generating money. Micro Transactions have taken over the mobile gaming industry , and we are seeing games that use ‘Energy’ more and more. Next, you might even see PUBG Mobile using energy for one match. Energy is not only irritating the gamers, but it is also causing many people to not play the game anymore! Now this is exactly what I do with a game with energy. 1. Open the newly installed game 2. Finish the tutorial 3. Design my character 4. Check if game has energy 5 . Energy located 6. Exit the game 7. Delete the game.

Man, I remember seeing this game on the google play store when it was still in development. My reaction was something along the lines of "Oh cool! An actual harry potter game!". So, I signed up to be a beta tester. If you thought this was bad, the beta was even worse. You can't even swipe left to pass notes or any of that bullshit. At the end of the beta testing, we were asked to fill out a questionnaire about how they can make this game better. I suggested that maybe they should include a potions brewing mini game or a quidditch mini game, so that the damn thing won't be so repetitive. And to think I actually grinded to like level 17 or something during the beta test, after which they proceeded to wipe everyone's accounts.

I'm not saying they didn't learn to fly, I am saying however that they didn't do it on those brooms. They atually have brooms that fly incredibly slow for safety. I can't remember exactly but I believe we had a couple of Shooting Stars and one or two Oakshaft 79's. Could have been older versions though.

Actually the sims 4 looks a lot better, I'd compare it more to sims mobile. Both of them have similar gameplay: get energy, use it to tap things. but In TSM, you can choose what you want to do, buy clothes, get a house, build, things like that. This game is just linear "get better to get better".

What I want in a Harry Potter Game * Loose Story-Line I don't want to have to unlock friends. That shouldn't even be a thing. As a Slytherin, I don't give af about hufflepuffs and I had to actually comfort a girl based on her being bullied because she's a muggleborn. Let me make Slytherin friends, let me join Voldemort etc. *Actual Character Creation Let me create my character. I shouldn't have to unlock clothes either way. It's Hogwarts. But in an HP game, I would like to live in the wizarding world. Let me create a basic family or let me join in one of the families already canon. Like, that would be sooo freaking cool! If I wanted to I should be able to continue until my character dies. *Castle Exploration Like....I should be able to walk wherever I want. I can get punished by the prefects but once again the story-line in the game is very rigid and I do not like that. I thought I would get more choice.

I’d personally like a different story line, in the same universe, where your a student and you can walk around freely and solve mysteries, quests and challenges. Maybe it could even be like an online experience so you can have help form your friends.

To some extent, you can actually choose your house in Hogwarts as well. However, before that time the hat looks into your mind to see the Houses best suited for you. For example, my choices two somewhat matching Houses were Ravenclaw and Slytherin and I heard Harry James Potter had the choice between Slytherin and Gryffindor. So yes, your choices define who you are, but there should always be a basis to make your decisions on.

I was shown the ad before I watched this video (coincidence?) and my god is it misleading.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Mistery, there are two different editions: Harry Potter waiting simulator Harry Potter paying simulator ( Now you can pay real money!!)

I think what bothers me most is that the "tapping on blue outlines" mechanism is clearly a conscious choice to make the game impossible to lose. Like, potion brewing could easily use the same tapping mechanics except have the player do a game of "simon says" with various ingredients. Each class COULD be a dumb little game or challenge. But no. They clearly wanted to avoid any possibility of failure so as to not risk losing any paying customers. So we get this watered down dog turd that just wants your money because you're a fan of the franchise.

ุ ุ now they can, certainly, but that wasn't how it worked when mobile gaming first kicked off. I remember on my iPod touch 1st gen there were really fun actual games on there but they were simplistic due to the hardware, and eventually as phones got stronger some ported actual gsmes to mobile:Kotor, GTA, Prison Architect, Civ 6 etc. But the trend was already set that people wanted simple and free/ cheap games that don't need extra controllers or 30 hours of gameplay... and then of course they discovered microtransactions and everything went to shit but I think if phones had started out decently powerful for their time and things like the xperia play, nvixia shield, wikipad etc were actually worth a dann I think mobile gaming would be drastically different, as evidenced by the switch's and 3DS' success

what’s also annoying is that it takes forever to get through a year. i used to have the game and i had it for about 3 months and i was barely half way through the first year cause you spend so long waiting

When my character was in potions class and it started mixing ingredients the hands were so HUGE. The graphics were terrible and I didn't even have patience and got bored instantly.

So Forlorn Same. :/ People get so excited when companies like Nintendo are like “we’re making mobile games now!” but all of those games are either pay to play or pay to win. Or both. I don’t even mind paying $10 for an app if it’s a good game so long as it doesn’t have in-app purchases, but those don’t ducking exist anymore. I remember when apps charged you $1-$5 for a game and then that was it. You couldn’t buy anything else. It was just fun.

Agreed. I tried to give this game a chance because it's the Harry Potter game we've been waiting for years but it is not good. It presents you with your dissapeared brother who's probably dead in the snake's chamber (don't know the name for it in english ) but like...I don't care about that guy. They don't give any information on why would my character want to break Hogwarts rules to find him. They give you this suuuper annoying best friend, and this Draco Malfoy wannabe. As a person I would avoid a duel because I'm that teacher's pet, yet I couldn't and I lost my house 20 points. I've played tap and wait games that at least have interesting stories (episode, Matt), but this is just a poor excuse of a Harry Potter game that will try to get money out of you.

Especially because the game prompts you to say things like "I want to find my brother!" when it's like... well maybe I don't, he's dead as a doornail I think

I used to have a great HP game in my nintendo gamecube, you could explore Hogwarts, trade the famous magicians cards, fly anywhere you wanted, great puzzles in classes such as exploring secret rooms and having to use all the spells you know to get out of there, it just seems dumb that a 2001 game is better at everything than a new generation game in 2018. I'm a little peeved by that.

Yeah, I mean most mobile games are just a cheap cash grab that pray on people with too much money or not enough willpower. But they at least offer you something, that some people, somewhere, could argue, is fun. A fun thing to do in between their ploys to take your money. I played the family guy game for a while. It too, was tapping on things and waiting for energy to recover while trying to peddle its premium currency. But the "gameplay" took the form of making proper purchases to increase your overall income and efficiency. This game doesn't have that. There is no "fun" in between their ploys to get your money. Take away the elements of microtransactions (the energy bar and the wait times between quests), and it's just a "click through adventure" with a poorly implemented storyline. It's why I put the word "game" in quotes- There's no gameplay. It's just a microtransaction vessel that's piggybacking off of a popular franchise.

spumwack it's bad enough there are people stupid enough to fall for this, but it's worse that their stupidity is actively making gaming worse. Fuck these idiots who made this game and doubly fuck the idiots who play it and drop money on it.

Khorum im sorry but this has been mobile games for a long time with a few exceptions, what surprised me the most was that some of them don’t even give a shit About their customers Edit: this came of wrong I meant not giving a shit in the sense of : bad customer support no refunds for faulty things etc EditEdit: Incase anyone cares I once paid 10€ but that was a long time ago and not even the reason I’m so disappointed (I was satisfied with my value)

One year past and, oh boy has it gotten worse.

What about the playing with friends in the court yard? Or dueling? Or convincing other characters to do things? It’s only the classes that are like that.
