This game is very good but here's two of my issues. The energy system is ridiculous and as a Slytherin--How DAARE Snape take points off of his own house members. I'm not even kidding, it's ridiculous.

I like this game, but aside from the energy system, I honestly think there should've been a personality quiz of sorts that would determine what house you'd get sorted in at the start of the game - like how the quizzes in early Animal Crossing titles would determine what your character looks like when s/he arrives in the village of animals.

You could take the test on what was formerly known as Pottermore. Then you can choose the house correctly based on your personality :)

Spoiler alert! in year one to prevent loosing points, choose distracted filtch to trick him into staying in office so not get caught and prevent loosing 50-80 of points and help murula when she gets frozen to earn points if you want. don't ignore him when he said he be watching you other wise he will see you enter and get snape the moment you go in. Spoiler alert! in year 2 you get to choose who you want to go with you in one of the curse vaults. CHOOSE BEN COOPER! I choice penny and ended up loosing 50 points. the professor said that had I had choicen ben, they might not have even known. I saw on a video later that when you do choose ben the professor said they know it was me but they have no proof so she didn't take any points away. the Hufflepuff in me desired to share this knowledge so someone out there can make a better choice than I did. and prevent loosing points where ever possible.

This game had so much potential. I was actually really excited for a Harry Potter based game and then when I actually played it I was so devastated that all you could do was tap your phone screen until you ran out of energy. I really don’t know what I was expecting when I discovered a Harry Potter game but it wasn’t this. I actually really loved the storyline as well it was just that they could’ve made the game more interesting instead of just making the gamer just sit there and tap until they ran out of energy and either had to buy more or wait. I mean seriously?

Professor Severus Snape may favor Slytherin, but he won't put up with any misbehavior from them.

I seriously enjoy this game. Others would say otherwise but waiting for energy is a blessing I do it as my timer for chores and study all other stuff when my energy is 0. Makes me so productive and fast.

It's a good game with a good storyline but the energy system is so ANNOYING.

This game would be so much fun if (1) we got to attend Hogwarts in the same year as bellatrix and many other people who were in her Hogwarts years or the people who were in her sisters Hogwarts years. (2) it allowed us to pick the black, lestrange, Malfoy, crabbe, or Goyle, slytherin or gryffindor as our last name. (3) we could choose our blood status. (4) we could choose if we wanted to be either death eaters or a member of the order of the Phoenix. (5) if we could write whatever we actually wanted to say or do.

i know i'm a bit late to this comment, but i suggest you watch jim sterling's video about the addictive cost of video games (mobile games in particular). games are designed to promote reckless spending, that's why the energy system exists, not to give players a break.

I love how we have to reassure Rowan about something that WE should be worried about like seriously

I love this game, but I wish the opening bits actually had your character getting (and travelling) on the Hogwarts Express. Meeting other characters during the train ride, like in the first film. It's nice to meet Rowan in Diagon Alley, but it would be even better to meet other characters on the train and start building friendships or rivalries while there. Also, it may seem like a minor quibble, but when you get your wand, there are three different woods mentioned. Acacia, blackthorn and hornbeam. Even if it doesn't affect gameplay, the wands should look different if they are made of three different types of wood. Relatedly, I hope Merula Snyde is eventually a friend option. Not talking about dating her, I know we can take her to the Celestial Ball and such.

This game is indeed a well-balanced mixture of the books and the films, although I think certain locations in Hogwarts should be more closer to the Pottermore illustrations.

This game is so great, even though the energy thing sucks it feels so rewarding to get the last bit of energy that you need and finish that quest. I’m still on year 2 as a ravenclaw but it’s been fun over all. A problem I have with it though is that there are so many interesting side quests but you either don’t have the energy to do them or you don’t have enough books to buy that creature Hagrid wants us to get. Edit: I’m on year three!

Hmm... I actually feel like Rowan should be in Ravenclaw, but you get introduced to her through Penny, that way we have more than one friend in Gryffindor. So if you;re in Slytherin, your first friend should be Liz, in Hufflepuff, Penny, in Ravenclaw, Tulip.

imagine if this game was massively expanded on for console? open-world map like breath of the wild. create your own characters like Skyrim or sims. make your own choices like life is strange or mass effect with hundreds of thousands of different storylines. and it had a motion sensor wand so with a click of a button on the main controller, it'd switch to your wand. I'd play the absolute crap out of a game like that.

When I played this game since high school and now the Hogwarts mystery is updated about +3/4 energy at the beginning for level 1 and when the energy comes back in 3 mins/59 secs and the new back stories of one of those chapters, I mean the 1st year of hogwarts mystery is new and when Merula wants to challenge the spell against her while Rowan and Debbie (I’m playing her name official character is Debbie McKinney (the Gryffindor’s brave) r playing first gobstones and this is actually new chatting :3

The thing is on my iPhone 5s it works properly. But however when the food is summoned in the Great hall it keeps crashing. How can I fix it?

I am currently on Year 4 and this game A LOT of potential. They just ned to get rid of the time limit is ridiculous, I hate having to wait for a full energy bar

I also play this and I am recently in year 3. I am slytherin named Alistair DeSpell. Snape is indeed a really good man. But he is not a good teacher lol. I stood up to help my friend while getting bullied, and 20 points from my house were taken smh

I would actually buy this game if the Energy, gems, and micro transactions would be removed, I know the game is free, but I would buy it if all the stuff I mentioned was removed, it could be a good game :P

I have a question. In which level of the game can you unlock the 8 hours classes? I'm in year 1, but I'm just curious

In the new version of the game( v 4. 48 or something like that..), The timer for fighting the Devil's Snare is just 1 hour. So if you have a full energy bar like 20 energy, you'd be able to complete it.. I guess Jam City decided to make the First-year easy. Although, I still took 2 weeks to finish Year One.

Hi. When I played it, it stopped letting me tap at the part where I said, “Wait is that Rowan?” Then when I tried to tap, I couldn’t move on. I even waited a day, and even tried to reset the game. Do you think you can help me please? I would be really grateful.

Maybe just rewind the whole game, you’re just on Chapter two of year one, you won’t lose that much progress. You’ll only lose the Diagon Alley bit, just choose the wand you want and then choose the name you want, go through Chapter 1, choose your house, do Lumos, then you’ll be there again, if that doesn’t work, then I dunno what will.

Just restarted playing the game has anyone been having an issue with after choosing the first set of books the arrow still points and u can't move anywhere?

I get stuck on year one chapter nine when it says to meet in the corridor, I chose to trick filch but nothing updates and I can’t click on the door! Help!!!

I’m here. I recently discovered and accepted I’m a Hufflepuff. (Though I may seem like a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw upon first sight, or just a Hufflepuff like I am, depends on where people meet me and when).

No offense but based on my experience playing Harry Potter games,The voice acting in Harry Potter game like hogwart legacy or harry potter magic awakened is not that good and sometimes it seems emotionless and flat:(

You know, I’m so fucking pissed they don’t let you join the great hall at the end. It just keeps glitching you out no matter how hard you try

Is there any difference if I choose “my vision”, “the cursed vaults” or “my brother” during the conversation with prof. Dumbledore?

I wish they could change the energy system. Either, they have you restore 1 bit of energy every 1-2 minutes, or don’t have the energy at all. It’s ridiculous how I have to wait 4 minutes just to be able to get 1 big of energy. Maybe they could change the energy into just minigames, so instead of tapping a screen then waiting almost an hour to play again, you could play a small mini game! And maybe even the mini game can cost 2 energy or something to play. Like, in potions, it might be click on the ingredients the quickest, or a memory game where you have to memorise the ingredients, cuz the story of the game is interesting, but it just gets boring.

Yes! Maybe it could be like you get half a bit of energy for a correctly answered question, and the thing where you have to keep the meter thing on the green should give you 1 bit of energy, and the sorting ga,es should give you two bits of energy, and the spurts, of course, when you finish some tasks.

Good to see not all slytherins are bad

I get some people here are annoyed about the energy bar but I like it because it makes me excited to see what happens next and it makes the year last longer so therefore you won’t complete it in just a few months
