(Harry McClintock) - The Preacher And The Slave Song Lesson On New Mountain Banjo Build
If the video is too long to sit through you can just watch the lesson if ya want. This is a song lesson and new banjo build combined into one video and I tried to keep it as minimal as I could.
The Preacher and the slave is played here in the tuning (C-G-C-E-G) but can be played in standard G or any other down tuned relative tuning.

what a beautiful instrument. this might be one of the coolest instruments ive seen on youtube. I would do anything to own one of those. You are a lucky man

Well, this actually isn’t for me. I built this for my buddy, who wanted to gift it to his brother. But thank you much I appreciate it! If you’re looking for a Banjo, like this, then skies the limit, I build them all day.

wow gotta be one of my favorite looking and sounding mountain banjos I've ever seen. Love that peghead and the skateboard theme, making me wanna do something with walnut and oak. I think you're right that the neck angle is making a big difference playing way up the neck, it seems to help the notes ring out a lot better. Your white house blues sounds amazing

Yo, thank you much Ben I appreciate that! Giving the mountain Banjo neck angle is definitely a plus indeed. I’m happy with how the skateboard headstock came out. I’ve got a long history with skateboarding and building this definitely means a lot to me since it’s going to an old skateboard buddy. But yes, you should definitely do something cool with oak and walnut. They go together, just as well as gin and cranberry juice 😂
Hahahah. I’ll have to play Sweet By and By for a preacher and transition to that 😂
