Hello sorry for the late reply I have been out of action for some time. I will be putting up another video of a complete restoration of one, including how I make the leather washers for it hopefully it will help

So is the tube that covers the spring even necessary? I note that the Diana versions have the spring uncovered.

Hello sorry for the late reply I have been out of action for some time. I believe the plastic cover replaced a metal version at one time which was after the exposed ones but I'm not 100% certain I have that the correct way round . All it does is seem to offer a slight bit of protection from the spring hitting against the outer barrel frame.
